The large amount of data generated by hospitals is helping machine learning algorithms to generate accurate solutions. This data includes information about treatment, diagnosis, and medications. This valuable information can be used to create automated solutions. The Indian government is planning to introduce a technology like the United Payment Interface (UPI) in the healthcare sector. This technology is called the United Health Interface (UHI). The UHI aims to consolidate various healthcare services, such as the storage of patients' health records, management of blood banks, provision of hospitals' information, doctors' details, bed availability, medical insurance services, and more. Our goal is to develop a similar system where all these services can be accessed through a single account. The UHI is an advanced technology that has revolutionized the healthcare industry. It offers numerous benefits to both patients and healthcare providers. One of the most significant advantages of UHI is the seamless sharing of patient information across different healthcare providers and institutions. This means that doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals can easily access patient data, regardless of their location, and make informed decisions regarding treatment. The online doctor appointment system has also revolutionized healthcare. It offers several advantages for patients and healthcare providers alike. These advantages include convenience, time savings, improved access to healthcare, reduced costs, and enhanced patient management. Therefore, our aim is to develop a web application that consolidates all healthcare services under one platform, significantly improving our lives. Real Estate is the third largest asset class in the world only behind the stock market and the bond market. The entire real estate market is valued at over $7 trillion and is expected to cross $8 trillion by 2028. With an ever growing population and the land being limited in the world it would be safe to assume that this asset class keeps on growing according to the simple rules of law of Supply and Demand. So we have to come up with new methods to improve the process of purchasing real estate as well as eliminate the third parties in between. Stock price prediction has always been a tough task for all the stakeholders involved. This paper focusses on four different models, namely LSTM, CNN, LSTM-CNN, and Genetic Algorithm-Assisted LSTM-CNN (GA-LSTM-CNN) for stock price prediction. The day-to-day stock prices of a certain company for a period of more than 10 years make up the dataset utilized in this study. Root mean square error (RMSE) has been utilized as performance metric for each model. Outcomes of our experiment show that the GA-LSTM-CNN model performed better than other models with an RMSE value of 0.0064 upon training and an RMSE value of 0.03 upon testing. The GA-LSTM-CNN model combines the strengths of LSTM as well as CNN models with the help of a genetic algorithm, which helps in optimizing the hyperparameters. According to the results, the GA-LSTM-CNN model can be very helpful for the stakeholders in predicting future stock values. © 2023 IEEE.

Biometric systems, such as facial recognition, are increasingly employed for secure identity verification. However, they are susceptible to morphing attacks, wherein images of different individuals are subtly blended to deceive biometric systems. Detecting these morphed images is challenging due to the subtle nature of the modifications. This paper proposes a novel approach that leverages diffusion models and Siamese networks to enhance morph detection capabilities. Diffusion models enable the extraction of fine-grained details by recreating the image after adding noise, while the Siamese network evaluates these details to accurately identify morphed images. Our method emphasizes improved detection accuracy, demonstrating significant potential to strengthen biometric security systems against morphing attacks. © 2024 IEEE.

IoT in healthcare is intended to keep people safe and healthy, with the primary goal of lowering healthcare costs and reducing the involvement of caregivers in the coming years. This research proposes a smart IoT-based health- care system, which includes an intelligent medical box connected to a mobile app for continuous health monitoring. Patients can get regular health care with the help of this medical box with a dedicated app and web server. The proposed system helps the patients to check their heart rate, temperature, and oxygen level, all using just one device. It provides an easy way for the user to do this checkup by themselves without any help from caregivers or even doctors. Moreover, the proposed system assists the patients in taking the proper medicinal drugs in due time with an SMS and buzzer alarm. It additionally creates a clean verbal exchange between medical doctors and patients rather than bodily contact. The proposed system can be accessed through an app that stores all the detailed health reports about the patient. Doctors can easily check the patient's report and can change the prescriptions based on the condition of the reports, if necessary. This box also consists of an emergency button that the user can use in case of any emergency to notify their respective caregivers immediately. © 2023 ACM.

This research demonstrates a proposal for a model of factors influencing the adoption and utilization of e-government services in Saudi Arabia (MIFEGSAU). This model was developed by combining factors from different well-known models and theories along with technical factors within the Technology Acceptance Model. This research focused on understanding and analyzing the factors taking e-government acceptance and implementation among all public members, particularly those with visual impairments. By Integrating motivational and technological factors recognized in the literature, hypotheses have been created to be studied and tested with Saudi citizens through a questionnaire survey and interviews. © 2023 IEEE.

Eye state detection refers to the technology and techniques used to determine the state or condition of a person's eyes, such as whether they are open or closed, focused or unfocused, or exhibiting specific eye movements. Many disciplines, including medicine, neurology, and human-computer interaction, depend on the accurate and reliable detection of eye open and eye close states. Findings indicating eye-state behavior, such as blinking frequency, may indicate stress reaction have recently sparked interest in determining eye-state using EEG signals. In this study the performance of three deep learning-based algorithms (Gated Recurrent Unit, Long Short-Term Memory and Recurrent Neural Network) for eye state detection have been investigated. Principal Component Analysis has been used for dimensionality reduction. Finally, results are compared on EEG data collected from UCI machine-learning repository. © 2023 IEEE.

Optimal Scheduling in Multiserver Queues

Scheduling theory is a key tool for reducing latency (i.e. response time) in queueing systems. Scheduling, i.e. choosing the order in which to serve jobs, can reduce response time by an order of magnitude with no additional resources. Scheduling theory is well-developed in single-server systems, where one job is processed at a time. However, little is known about scheduling in multiserver systems, where many jobs are processed at once. Results are especially limited in stochastic multiserver scheduling theory. Today’s data-centers have thousands of servers, and scheduling theory is unable to analyze such systems. My thesis proves the first optimality results and first closed-form bounds on mean response time for scheduling policies in stochastic multiserver models which reflect the behavior of modern computing systems. My thesis proves novel optimality results in each of three areas: I start by studying one-server-per-job multiserver models, and prove the first results on optimal scheduling in that setting. Next, I study the multiserver-job (MSJ) model, where different jobs require different amounts of resources to be served. I prove the first characterization of mean response time for any scheduling policy in the MSJ model, as well as the first optimality results. Finally, I study the effects of scheduling on the tail of response time, rather than mean response time. I invent a novel scheduling policy, Nudge, which I prove to be the first policy to outperform FCFS’s asymptotic tail of response time. This extended abstract briefly outlines the main contributions of my thesis, describing my novel performance bounds and optimality results in each of these three areas. © 2024 Association for Computing Machinery. In recent years, Brain-computer Interfaces (BCI) have become increasingly popular for assisting individuals with disabilities in restoring communication and mobility. The area of research focuses on utilizing convolutional neural networks (CNNs), specifically deeper architectures with high dropout, to decode brain signals and enable users to interact with the world more naturally, particularly through motor imagination. Motor imagination involves analyzing brain signals to decipher a person's intention to perform a motor task. CNNs are well-suited for BCI decoding due to their ability to learn intricate features from raw EEG data. However, the challenge lies in preventing overfitting in deeper CNN architectures, which have a larger number of parameters. To overcome this, the proposed approach involves a high truncation CNN architecture, a regularization technique that randomly turns off neurons during training to mitigate overfitting. © Grenze Scientific Society, 2023.

To suppress the resonance in an LCL filter, the passive damping method is often favored over the active damping due to its simplicity and robustness. However, the passive damping suffers from decreasing LCL filter's effectiveness in suppressing high-frequency harmonics and introducing power losses. In this paper, a new passive damping method is proposed for the three-phase four-leg shunt active power filter (SAPF) system, by adding resistors between the neutral line and the connection point of the three-phase lines. The selection of the damping resistor is guided by criteria that aim to minimize power losses while ensuring good stability characteristics. The SAPF system with the proposed passive damping demonstrates excellent attenuation of switching frequency harmonics and significant mitigation of interphase switching interference, enhancing harmonic compensation for nonlinear loads. The mathematical model based on single-phase equivalent circuit and control strategy of three-phase four-leg SAPF are analyzed respectively. Simulations and experiments with imbalanced loads are constructed to validate the theoretical analysis. © 2024 IEEE.
