Land use and land cover (LULC) classification is crucial for planning and sustainable development, especially in mountainous regions. This study focuses on the Tehsil Karnaprayag, situated in the vicinity of the Greater Himalaya. With a total area of 1858.903 km2 and elevations ranging from 647m to 7641m. Using multispectral Sentinel-2 imagery and Machine Learning techniques i.e. Extreme gradient boosting (XGBoost) and K-nearest neighbor (KNN). This study aims to classify seven distinct land cover classes: snow, forest, water bodies, grassland, agricultural land, fallow land, and built-up areas. The classification results demonstrate the effectiveness of XGBoost classifier achieving an accuracy of 90.22% and a kappa value of 0.882, while KNN achieved an accuracy of 88.59% with a kappa value of 0.862. The analysis reveals that forest and fallow land are the predominant land cover types in the study area, constituting nearly 60% and 15% of the total area respectively. Notably, XGBoost exhibits the highest class-specific accuracy of 97.60% for the snow class, demonstrating its utility in discriminating between challenging land cover types. This research highlights the importance of LULC classification in informing land management strategies and facilitating sustainable development initiatives in mountainous regions. The findings provide valuable insights into the spatial distribution and composition of land cover in Tehsil Karnaprayag, essential for effective planning and conservation efforts in the Himalayan ecosystem. © 2024 IEEE.

Mild cognitive impairments (MCI) develop in adults due to the normal aging process and may sometimes progress to a more serious cognitive decline stage resulting in Dementia. If the cognitive decline is identified at the MCI stage, it can be delayed or prevented from progressing by different interventions. A typical indicator of cognitive impairments that might be caused due to an injury, aging, or other factors is found to be a decreased search efficiency in visual search tasks. Here we propose a model to assess this efficiency by designing a digitized, easy-to-use visual search task capable of incorporating multiple variables in the visual stimulus, affecting the search capabilities. The variables under consideration include the number of distracting elements, target size, target distance from the center of the stimulus area, and habituation effects. This designed stimulus is tested on participants from different age groups. © 2024 IEEE.

Maritime navigation offers a comprehensive approach to optimising ship navigation, in such a way that guarantees the safety and effectiveness of the journey through multiple techniques, like the adaptive weather routing technique, which uses the predictive model and the current weather conditions for efficient navigation. The review mainly emphasizes the basic principles and computational simulation for sustainable navigation in advancing the route defining algorithm. Discusses about the conventional route defining algorithms and dynamic route defining algorithm by adjusting for wind, waves, and currents. A comparison analysis shows how well different algorithms work in various weather conditions, and case studies show how they are used in the actual world, while new trends are being discussed, major problems also concern the need for accurate climate predictions, high-speed data processing, and an efficient response plan. The Advancements in artificial intelligence and composite path forecasting also address issues related to major needs, such as accurate weather forecasts, high-speed data processing, and effective reaction tactics. Through this insights of this review provides on future directions for adaptive weather routing research and development that the sustainable growth of intelligent naval navigation is supported. © 2025 IEEE.

In this paper, we study the performance of few-shot learning, specifically meta learning empowered few-shot relation networks, over supervised deep learning and conventional machine learning approaches in the problem of Sound Source Distance Estimation (SSDE). In previous research on deep supervised SSDE, low accuracies have often resulted from the mismatch between the training data (from known environments) and the test data (from unknown environments). By performing comparative experiments on a sufficient amount of data, we show that the few-shot relation network outperforms other competitors including eXtreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost), Support Vector Machine (SVM), Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), and MultiLayer Perceptron (MLP). Hence it is possible to calibrate a microphone-equipped system, with a few labeled samples of audio recorded in a particular unknown environment to adjust and generalize our classifier to the possible input data and gain higher accuracies. © 2024 IEEE.

In this study, we discuss a method for diagnosing diabetes mellitus that combines the Random Forest algorithm with Federated Learning. The global model preserves data privacy while guaranteeing accurate and dependable diagnostics by combining local models rather than data. The diabetes dataset, sourced from Mendeley Data, is preprocessed to address class imbalance through the Synthetic Minority Oversampling Technique (SMOTE). The dataset is further augmented using Conditional Generative Adversarial Networks (CGAN) to introduce non-lID variations while splitting the data. Our global model is evaluated and compared across different node configurations, with the optimal performance achieved using six nodes. The results show impressive performance characteristics with 98.18% accuracy, 99.09% specificity, 98.18% sensitivity, and an ROC AUC of 1.00. These findings indicate that our Federated Forest based approach significantly enhances the diagnostic capability for Diabetes Mellitus while maintaining data privacy and integrity. © 2024 IEEE.

With the emergence of various techniques involved in deep learning the researchers of computer vision tends to focus on the strategies such as object recognition and segmentation of image. This has inclined to accomplish the deep learning techniques in 3D reconstruction of both specific and generic objects. As the space for reconstruction of 3D images either in single or multi view has envisioned the researchers to concentrate on the available technologies used for reconstruction. With the available built in methods and technologies in deep learning, the performance of the proposed methods were reviewed and analyzed using several parameters. As the remaking of 2D images is still in the beginning stage, it is important to study the 3D shape representations, various network architecture, methodologies and approaches behind 3D reconstruction. In this work a review of deep learning methods for single or multiple RGB images of specific and generic object 3D reconstruction was done. Several methods and their importance were also discussed along with the challenges encountered and with further research directions. This paper critically analyzes the various 3D Shaped Representations, 3D Data Network Architectures, depth Estimation methods, Multi View Representations and the Data Representation Techniques. © 2021

In this universe, a person's mood may be read from their facial expressions. But one thing is for sure: every expression is a way that people communicate their emotions. Despite the fact that every person has a unique set of facial features and a range of emotions, artificial intelligence (AI)technology allows us to recognize these emotions. A face emotion-recognition AI is built using a variety of techniques, one of which is deep learning to build a convolutional neural network (CNN) to train the data set and obtain high prediction accuracy. Recognizing seven of the fundamental facial emotions out of hundreds is the major goal here. The most common facial emotions are those of happiness, sadness, neutrality, anger, surprise, fear, and disgust. There are plenty of ways to achieve this facial emotion recognition like using deep face algorithms, machine learning, by AI techniques, by Tensor flow etc. The accuracy of our model is between 70% to 80%. It is perhaps the simplest and efficient approach of all of them. © 2023 IEEE.

Recommender systems enhance the user experience by integrating factual and behavioral practices, enhancing learning strategies, and granting academic opportunities based on learners subjective interests. Cognitive intelligence, a learner's capability to interpret and synthesize cognitive abilities, is crucial to assemble effective recommendations. However, a student encounters diverse adversities in his or her academic life, whether it is his or her academic pacers or outward circumstances. As a result, a learner consequently experienced severe academic setbacks. Thus, this paper proposes a novel approach to identify cognitive deficits of learners in a school or college before recommending any scholastic content or pertaining in any academic activity. We have employed a modified Bi-directional Gated Recurrent Unit (Bi-GRU) method in conjunction with Shuffled Frog Leaping Algorithm (SFLA). Our approach overcomes some of the shortcomings of conventional Bi-GRU method in choosing the right scaling parameters during training. Bi-GRU method is opted for detecting the cognitive deficits of a learner and SFLA is applied over Bi-GRU in order to hyper-Tune the parameters. The proposed method is compared with a few cutting-edge methods, and the experimental result outperforms the other methods in training, validation, and testing accuracies, achieving 99.34%, 98.98%, and 99.19% respectively. © 2024 IEEE.

In today’s digital landscape, securing sensitive information has become an essential priority in the modern digital era for both individuals and organizations. This project introduces a comprehensive web application that integrates advanced encryption and decryption functionalities alongside multifactor authentication (MFA) and secure payment processing. The application supports various cryptographic algorithms, including AES, DES, Triple DES, Blowfish, etc., allowing users to securely encrypt and decrypt data through dedicated routes accessed over secure HTTPS connections. To further enhance security, robust multifactor authentication mechanisms, such as OTP-based challenge-response and QR-code-enabled 2FA, have been implemented to prevent unauthorized access to sensitive operations. The platform also incorporates PGP encryption powered by Keybase, enabling users to securely exchange encrypted emails. Additionally, a secure payment gateway is integrated using Stripe, ensuring sensitive payment data is encrypted and handled safely. With a strong focus on data integrity, user privacy, and modern web security standards, this project delivers an all-encompassing solution for safeguarding sensitive information and facilitating secure communication. By addressing common vulnerabilities and security risks, the platform stands as a reliable and scalable tool for data protection. © 2025 IEEE.

AI and EdTech are transforming education by making it more accessible, personalized, and assessable, even in low and middle income countries (LMICs) facing resource constraints. However, challenges come with unequal access, issues in data privacy, and bias in AI model creations. As AI continues to become more popular, the issue of whether the work made by the students will be original. This paper focuses on the impact of artificial intelligence on learning in both its ethical and practical dimensions while highlighting the themes of inclusivity, fairness, and authenticity. Guidelines and policies for responsible AI in integration will be proposed further, alongside teacher training. Results should depict that this moral framework, policies, and teacher education should aid in ensuring that the implications of AI are positive and fruitful for learning. Ideal AI guidelines would foster an educational system that is inclusive, transparent, and considers uniqueness and innovation. © 2025 IEEE.
