All industrial machine learning (ML) projects have their ultimate objective to quickly develop and deploy ML solutions. However, a lot of machine learning projects are failing, and never reach production. In order to address these concerns, this paper aims to investigate how manual ML processes can be automated and operationalised so that more ML concept can be put into production. The advantages of DevOps automation and machine learning capabilities are now being combined by industries. MLOps is the name of this combination. Our analysis found that while there are some similar aspects in defining MLOps, still there is a lack of standardisation in the term, which can occasionally lead to misunderstandings and uncertainty. We carried out the research, which includes a review of the literature and an evaluation of the MLOps tools, to fill this gap. These investigations have led us to define MLOps and identify unresolved issues in the field. In addition to this, we offer a workflow-based summary of all essential components. Finally, this paper gives guidance for applying DevOps practises to machine learning for researchers and practitioners. © 2024 IEEE.

Considering the advancements in autonomous driving technologies, the necessity for an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) to incorporate a multitude of sensors for enhanced precision has become paramount. Consequently, the increase of sensors correlates directly with the escalation of autonomous driving capabilities. However, this escalation causes a larger volume of data traffic and an increase in the latency within the in-vehicle network (IVN). As the IVN latency increases, the overall latency of ADAS from the sensor to the actuator increases. This increased latency can affect the safety of ADAS. Hence, latency analysis for various sensors is required. In this paper, we struct Ethernet-based zonal architecture considered for future automotive architecture and analyze the factor of end-to-end latency for the safety-related ADAS with multi-type sensors, including IVN latency. © 2024 IEEE.

The ubiquitous use of data in a plethora of use cases and different organizational dependence on it for various insight has made data a valuable resource across business and scientific domains. Data has attained much more significance than oil itself, unlike the British mathematician Clive Humby's quote in 2006 'data is the new oil'. Every business and processes generate data and with the advent of AI and machine learning, all types of data have valuable use case attached. This also ensued a series of initiatives to clean, augment and provide data as data-products. This has given rise to businesses and solutions using inhouse data or data purchased from a dedicated data provider. Data consumers often face the challenge of inefficient data product discovery. More frequently than not they require active support from data product experts to point them to right dataset. The semantic meaning of the attributes and keywords of a data product is also heavily domain oriented. Data providers find it easy to update and augment metadata of a data set with details more feasible solution than modifying the dataset itself with attribute rename or adding composite attribute. The expected next step is that the metadata be self-explanatory enough to help in data cataloguing, but often we find consuming data scientist looking for help from data experts to make sense of the data in the context of the consumer's use case. This research seeks to analyse if the role of a data expert can be reduced and a finetuned small language model can help a data consuming data scientist in discovering the right data product, based on the metadata of the data product. Overall, this research contributes to the advancement of data discovery techniques and highlights the potential of leveraging language models to streamline and democratize access to valuable data resources, thereby empowering organizations to make more informed and data-driven decisions. © 2024 IEEE.

Content personalization on social platforms has been linked to the creation of filter bubbles. The algorithms provide content recommendations based on the user’s browsing history and interests, which limits content diversity. Studies have been conducted on platforms such as Facebook and YouTube to investigate user awareness and strategies to exit filter bubbles. However, no study has employed a multi-platform, user-centered perspective in investigating filter bubble exit through change in search content, as well as the duration of the content transition across multiple platforms. This study examines the duration of user exit of filter bubbles, across three social platforms;TikTok, YouTube Shots, and Instagram Reels, as well as the impact of word similarity on the duration of the transition between contents, across the platforms. The methodology applied involved triggering the filter bubble effect through user interactions with the search content across the different platforms. Findings revealed that the mean time of a transition between search terms on TikTok is significantly higher than the mean time on Instagram reels, and YouTube shorts. Similarly, the study identified differences in the duration of transition across the different platforms, due to the similarity of the search terms. Apart from improving user awareness of a filter bubble exit strategy, this study contributes to Human-computer Interaction research by highlighting some design implications for future social media application design. © 2024 IEEE.

Recognition of Bengali sign language characters is crucial for facilitating communication for the deaf and hard-of-hearing population in Bengali-speaking regions, which encompass approximately 430 million people worldwide. Despite the significant number of individuals requiring this support, research on Bengali sign language character recognition remains underdeveloped. This article presents a novel approach to categorize Bengali sign language characters using the Ishara-Lipi dataset, based on convolutional neural networks (CNNs) and pretrained models. We evaluated our approach using metrics such as accuracy, precision, recall, F1-score, and confusion matrices. Our findings indicate that the CNN model achieved the highest performance with an accuracy of 98%, followed by VGG19 with 94% and ResNet variants achieving around 88%. The proposed model demonstrates robust and efficient classification capabilities, significantly bridging the gap in existing literature. This study holds substantial promise for enhancing assistive technology, thereby improving social inclusion and quality of life for Bengalispeaking deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals. © 2024 IEEE.

It takes a lot of work to develop a computerized method for classifying plants for medicinal purposes. There are countless kinds of plants found in India, and each one has its own unique set oftherapeutic advantages. Background information is necessary for manual identification and categorization because it is difficult for people to recall the proper titles of all plant species and their *** is crucial to preserve these medicinal plants since doing so will benefit several industries, including medicine, botanical research, and taxonomic studies, among others. Current technology cannot match thediversity of medicinal herb species that existin India. Utilizing textural traits that are crucial for recognizing and classifying leaves, the recommended technique makes itsimpler to categorize medicinal plants. The feature extraction, categorization, and picture enhancement stages are the three main components of the suggested method. The qualities that could be matched betweenthe leaf images were gathered using digital image processing methods after cell phones were used to snap the leaf photos. The CNN classifier is then used to create a machine learning classifier. © 2024 IEEE.

Oral carcinoma affects millions of individuals globally and is a major public health problem due to its high fatality rate. Treatment effectiveness depends on early detection and improves survival rates. An effective method for automated oral cancer screening is deep learning. The paper's primary goal is to use deep learning techniques to advance the state of oral cancer diagnosis, specifically YOLOv5 and YOLOv7. We aimed to achieve accurate detection by leveraging bounding box annotations for both two distinct types of data: collected clinical data and benchmark data of oral carcinoma. The proposed methodology encompasses data collection, preprocessing, expert-driven bounding box annotation and the use of cutting-edge deep learning models for lesion identification, YOLOv5 and YOLOv7. Bounding box serving as expert annotations are meticulously added to pinpoint cancerous regions within the images. Subsequently, a comprehensive evaluation is conducted, measuring the performance of both models based on precision, recall rate (sensitivity) and mean average precision (mAP). Our findings reveal that YOLOv5 outperforms YOLOv7 in terms of oral cancer detection, demonstrating superior precision and recall rates. In the evaluation of this research, the YOLOv5 model demonstrated strong performance metrics on both clinical and lip and tongue cancer datasets. For the lip and tongue cancer dataset, the YOLOv5 model achieved a precision of 97.2%, a mAP (mean Average Precision) of 97.7% and a recall of 96.3%. © 2024 IEEE.

Accurate road extraction from Remote Sensing Imagery (RSI) is crucial for various applications, including urban planning, navigation, and disaster response. This study investigates automated road extraction in rural, semi-urban and urban regions using deep learning architectures, specifically UNet and Deep Residual U-Net (ResNet) models. We leverage High-Resolution Satellite Imagery (HRSI) to train and validate our models, focusing on the distinct characteristics and challenges presented by urban and rural environments. Our methodology involves comprehensive data preprocessing and augmentation techniques to enhance model robustness. We evaluate the performance of both architectures using metrics and achieved an accuracy of 90.29%, recall of 80.95%, precision of 74.89%, and F1- score of 77.80% for the Deep Residual U-Net. Experimental results demonstrates that while both models perform well, the Deep Residual U-Net exhibits superior accuracy and generalization, particularly in complex urban landscapes. © 2024 IEEE.

Knee osteoarthritis (KOA) is a prevalent joint disorder diagnosed using imaging modalities like MRI, CT scans, and X-rays, with X-rays being the most cost-effective. Early detection is crucial for effective management. This study presents an automated deep learning approach to detect and classify KOA severity based on the Kellgren-Lawrence (KL) grading system using single posteroanterior standing knee X-ray images. Utilizing the Osteoarthritis Initiative dataset, we employed transfer learning to fine-tune DenseNet-201, enhancing model performance. Additionally, knowledge distillation was applied to reduce computational complexity while maintaining accuracy. Our model achieved over 95% accuracy on both testing and cross-validation datasets, outperforming existing methods. This approach offers a reliable tool for early KOA diagnosis and grading, potentially aiding clinical decision-making © 2025 IEEE.

cardiovascular diseases (CVD) stand as a prominent global cause of death in worldwide. Timely identification and intervention are paramount in dealing with heart disease, as its failure to detect and treated promptly can lead to life-threatening outcomes. The Electrocardiogram (ECG) Signals are mainly used as diagnostic tools that routinely assess the electrical and muscular function of the heart. Until recently, ECG records were predominantly maintained in paper form;thus, manually examining and re-examining the ECG paper records are often proved time-consuming and laborious tasks. Therefore, this research work utilizes, the power of machine learning and deep learning in predicting four different cardiac abnormalities named Abnormal Heartbeats (AHB), History of Myocardial Infarction (HMI), Myocardial Infarction (MI), and Normal Heartbeats (NHB) from paper-based ECG images. Different image pre-processing methods have been employed to improve the quality of individual ECG images and a novel lightweight deep neural model is proposed for extracting prominent features from each ECG images. Finally, we used an optimized weighted average ensemble technique for the final prediction. The grid search technique is used to find the optimal parameters and weights of each machine-learning model. Our proposed model shows state-of-the-art results in accuracy, precision, recall, and f1-score of 99.29%, outperforming the existing work. The model has attained an Area Under Curve (AUC) score of 99.96%. © 2023 IEEE.
