Being such a vast resource of information, World Wide Web has become irreplaceable but the outburst of information available over the internet has made web search a time consuming and a very complex process. Skin cancer is one of the most challenging disease among various cancer type. According to the studies, there are different types of skin cancers like melanoma, basal cell carcinoma (BCC), and squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). Melanoma is a condition where the production of melanin is significantly reduced because of the dysfunctionality of melanocyte cells. One of the major factor that affects the melanocyte cell is sunburn due to the ultraviolet rays from the sun. The disorder can be identified by the shape, color and texture of skin lesion. The skin lesion can be normally separated into three as benign, atypical and melanoma. A benign skin lesion is a normal skin, atypical skin lesion may or may not be cancerous and melanoma is surely a cancerous one. This paper proposes a non invasive automated skin lesion analysis system for the early detection of melanoma using image processing techniques and mobile technologies. Hair detection and removal is performed for effective classification and extraction features of the skin wound. A fast marching in painting algorithm is used for the hair removal.

The inference and analysis of user search goals helps in improving search engine relevance. Search goals are interpreted accurately without any ambiguity on the basis of feedbacks collected from different users. This paper mainly focuses on devising a new searching strategy into social networking sites in order to restructure and refine the search goal of a user using his feedback sessions. Nowadays, most of the search engines give a wide list of results for the search query and they are not able to satisfy an exact need of a users intention. Hence exact search results are not obtained. Research and thesis show that in social networking sites, a feedback based search engine has not yet been implemented. Major processing steps are clustering, collecting feedback scores of each user and finally on the basis of collected feedbacks search results are restructured.

Document Summarization is a technique of conveying important information in a given document. It is one of the most important chores of Natural Language Processing as the summary produced is helpful for information retrieval systems, question answering systems, medical domain and news domain etc. Most of the summarization works in Indian languages are of extractive nature and not much work is oriented towards the abstractive summarization approaches in Indian languages as they need more linguistic processing. As Indian languages belong to several language families and since they are morphologically rich and agglutinative in nature, a lot of challenges are faced while doing abstractive summarization because it requires natural language generation techniques. The proposed work is an approach for abstractive text summarization that will accept single document as input in Malayalam, processes the input by building a suitable semantic representation and then use sentence framing techniques to generate the final summary. The entire framework is composed of eight modules that mainly deals with constructing a suitable semantic representation called Karaka tree and a sentence framing module to generate the natural summary.

A well-known empirical rule for the demand of wireless communication systems is that of Edholm’s law of bandwidth. It states that the demand for bandwidth in wireless short-range communications doubles every 18 months. With the growing demand for bandwidth and the decreasing cell size of wireless systems, terahertz (THz) communication systems are expected to become increasingly important in modern day applications. With this expectation comes the need for protecting users’ privacy and security in the best way possible. With that in mind, we show that quantum key distribution can operate in the THz regime and we derive the relevant secret key rates against realistic collective attacks. In the extended THz range (from 0.1 to 50 THz), we find that below 1 THz, the main detrimental factor is thermal noise, while at higher frequencies it is atmospheric absorption. Our results show that high-rate THz quantum cryptography is possible over distances varying from a few meters using direct reconciliation, to about 220m via reverse reconciliation. We also give a specific example of the physical hardware and architecture that could be used to realize our THz quantum key distribution scheme. Copyright © 2018, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Finding relation among multiple images is a core and vital step in the field of computer vision. This can be achieved if we can track correspondence over consecutive frames in an image and then matching among them can be identified. This paper proposes a precise approach for image matching in real time scenario and also in the field of ROBOTICS. We are constructing an application based Image matching model that can detect images that are exactly the same, as well as images that have been edited in some ways. Implementation of this Image Matching and object recognition system is based on tracking an object, calculating its feature Points, and classification with the help of trained Data Sets. The system is capable to perform matching of images, both automatically and manually. On the other hand, to operate the proposed system manually, user itself takes the images of an object or something, and will store it in database. After that system will through some steps, and image matching will be performed. Black & White point calculation of an image, Chamfer matching Algorithm, 3-4 Distance Transformation with canny edge detector is applied in the application which is well suited for calculating the pixel values. The whole system is reliable and capable to match the two images in Digital Image Processing.

New algorithms for blocking artifact detection on a compressed satellite image by using a 7x7 block and for analyzing its characteristics are proposed. Blocking artifacts often appear on an image when it has a very high compression rate based on either the loss-compression or lossless compression. Localization of blocking artifact is useful for finding the image's characteristics. This study also proposes methods of image quality metric that will analyze the characteristic of distorted satellite image caused by blocking artifact based on the rate-distortion and the similarity. In addition, we propose a new evaluator, which combines precision and recall, as a more suitable measure than MSE for error measurement in imbalanced data. Experimental evaluations show that our proposal works well for satellite images.
