Retinex method mainly consists of two steps: estimation and normalization of illumination. How to extract the background illumination accurately is a key problem. The backgrounds of picture sequence in video's adjacent frames are usually similar and closely related. More accurate illumination information can be extracted when this characteristics of video's picture sequence is considered. In the paper, we propose an improved Retinex algorithm. Filter the images using the Gauss masks of different scale and parameter for each frame image, and all these filtering results are fused together by minimum method. In the paper, the scale of Gauss filters are set as 5, 9, 13, 25, and their variance set as 0.3, 0.5, 0.7 and 1.0 respectively. 6 adjacent frame images are selected, and the uniform and optical background image for these 6 images can be extracted by maximum method. This method makes use of the similarity and relationship among the adjacent frame images in videos. Enhance the images using Retinex method with this optical background image as their uniform illumination information. Experiment shows that more accurate back grounds are acquired and more excellent enhancement performance are achieved.

In this paper, a fast algebraic decoding algorithm (ADA) is proposed to correct all patterns of five errors or less in the binary systematic (71, 36, 11) quadratic residue (QR) code. The method is based on the modification of the ADAs developed by Reed et al and Lin et al. The new conditions and the errorlocator polynomials for decoding this code will be derived. Besides, a computer search shows that the minimum degree of the unknown syndrome polynomial f(S7) in the five-error case is 2. Hence, the computational complexity can be reduced in finite field. Simulation result shows that the average decoding time of the proposed ADA is superior to the ADA given by Chang et al.

In this paper two linear algorithms, the multiple signal classification(MUSIC) algorithm combined with time reversal imaging and the synthetic aperture focussing technique(SAFT), are applied to reconstruct two complicated targets. One target is in an anechoic chamber from experimental microwave data and the other is immersed in water from the experimental elastic wave data. Inversion results from these datasets using the multifrequency multi-bistatic measurement, verify the MUSIC algorithm and SAFT are both promising methods for realtime imaging.

The fully implantable hearing devices (FIHDs) have been widely studied to solve the problems of conventional hearing aids. The microphone of FIHDs is implanted under the skin at temporal bone. So, it’s characteristics can be affected by bone-conducted noise, such as chattering teeth and eating food. In this paper, we investigated the effect of boneconducted noise on implanted microphone. To verify the noise effect, we implemented the physical model using the artificial bone and silicone. And a result, it confirmed that output signals are modified by bone-conducted signal.

This paper concerns the problem of blown and swayed tree image registration. The swayed tree leaves and little branches contain plenty of details or feature points, but matching with these points may result in error image registration. In this work, we delete some details of leaves and little and thin branches by using of morphological image processing methods, then extract the relatively invariant crotch features of trees from thinning images, lastly we adjusted the matching points with L-M algorithm. Results show our method is insensitive to the ordering, rotation and scale of the input images so it can be used in image stitching and retrieval of images & videos.
