This paper presents a novel layered group spacetime multiuser detection(MUD)with the assistance of partial soft information(PSI)for the uplink of multipleinput multiple output(MIMO)code division multiple access (CDMA)*** proposed MUD first employs a simple channel-strength criterion to order the ***,it conducts a block layer cancellation scheme to remove the layered group space-time ***,to mitigate the performance loss resulting from the group processing,the proposed MUD makes use of the PSI fed back from the previous group to detect the symbols in each *** results demonstrate that the new MUD can offer a substantial performance gain over pervious works.

The development of computer and network has lead us into a e-leaning era, and we believe the e-learning era of 'Digital Taiwan' in six-years national development plan is coming [1]. E-learning industry is the star industry and key task in this plan. We hereby try to propose ten criterions for e-learning software for juvenile on basis of constructivist perspectives. The ten criterions can effectively and quickly evaluate e-learning software for juvenile. However, how to make optimal selection from lots of alternative e-learning software for juvenile, we hereby apply multiple attribute decision making basing on positive idea point to determine the optimal alternative of e-learning software for juvenile. In this paper, we discuss an approach to make bridge maintenance plan using the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). PSO is an optimization method based on meta-heuristics such as GAs. It is a swarm intelligence algorithm, inspired by the social behavior of swarms such as bird flocking. Since it is constructed from the simple algorithm which can be formulated as vector synthesis, it is easy to implement and computes rapidly. Furthermore it can handle real number for design values. Therefore the application of some real-problems such as a structural design, an inverse analysis and any other problems is expected. In this paper, PSO is applied to make bridge maintenance plans and investigated its validity with a numerical example. Finally, it is verified that PSO is effective method to make bridge maintenance plan.

According to QoS (Quality of Service) of computing resources in grid, a 2-tier hybrid algorithm is proposed for independent tasks scheduling with time-cost *** (QoS Guided Min-Min, presented by He Xiao Shan et al., Journal of computerscience and Technology, 2003) is adopted in the first level to obtain a schedule with optimized completion time. A GA (Genetic Algorithm) only with mutation operator is used to optimize cost with the same obtained completion time in the second tier. The proposed approach is compared with Min-Min and QGMM, efficient existing heuristics for independent tasks scheduling with completion time minimization. Experimental results show that the proposed approach can get lower cost than the other two with the same completion time as QGMM, which is better than that of Min-Min.

Simple configuration of RF module is proposed for passive millimeter-wave imaging system. The results of the detector design for the module are reported in this paper. A detector planar circuit and a waveguide horn antenna are connected by broadband microstrip-to-waveguide transition. A number of the antenna is arranged around the focal point of the lens, which results in the proposed RF module. Since the module forms a layer structure composed of substrate and machined flat metal plates, which contributes low-profile and easy manufacturing. Here, the structure of the proposed imaging module is described in detail. Next, the results of the detector design used in the proposed imaging module are described. Copyright 2006 IEICE.
