With the rapid increment of multiple users for data offloading and computation, it is challenging to guarantee the quality of service (QoS) in remote areas. To deal with the challenge, it is promising to combine aerial access networks (AANs) with multi-access edge computing (MEC) equipments to provide computation services with high QoS. However, as for uncertain data sizes of tasks, it is intractable to optimize the offloading decisions and the aerial resources. Hence, in this paper, we consider the AAN to provide MEC services for uncertain tasks. Specifically, we construct the uncertainty sets based on historical data to characterize the possible probability distribution of the uncertain tasks. Then, based on the constructed uncertainty sets, we formulate a distributionally robust optimization problem to minimize the system delay. Next, we relax the problem and reformulate it into a linear programming problem. Accordingly, we design a MEC-based distributionally robust latency optimization algorithm. Finally, simulation results reveal that the proposed algorithm achieves a superior balance between reducing system latency and minimizing energy consumption, as compared to other benchmark mechanisms in the existing literature.

Hip fractures is the most common hip clinical trauma. The majority of elderly patients experience a decrease in bone density due to osteoporosis, making them highly prone to various types of hip fractures. In this context, accurate diagnosis and classification of hip fractures are crucial for guiding clinical decision-making and ensuring the best possible patient outcomes. The BV C- N et proposed in this study is a two-stage model for the identification of hip fracture types, which is based on the integration of the V-Net and ConvNeXt architectures. First, deep learning segmentation model is trained to generate candidate fracture regions, and then, a deep learning classification model is trained in the second stage to classify the segmented local fracture regions according to the candidate fracture regions generated in the first stage to ascertain the type of fracture. The results show that the two-stage deep learning model proposed in this study enhances the accuracy of hip fracture type recognition and reduces the time required for manual classification, which can better assist doctors in fracture region recognition.

A wide variety of integral inequalities (IIs) have been developed and studied for the stability analysis of distributed parameter systems using the Lyapunov functional approach. However, no unified mathematical framework has been proposed that could characterize the similarity and connection between these IIs, as most of them was introduced in a dispersed manner for the analysis of specific types of systems. Additionally, the extent to which the generality of these IIs can be expanded and the optimality of their lower bounds (LBs) remains open questions. In this study, we introduce two general classes of IIs that can generalize nearly all IIs in the literature. The integral kernels of the LBs of our IIs can contain an unlimited number of weighted £2 functions that are linearly independent in a Lebesgue sense. Moreover, we not only estalish the equivalence relations between the LBs of our IIs, but also demonstrate that these LBs are guaranteed by the least squares principle, implying asymptotic convergence to the upper bound when the kernels functions constitutes a Schauder basis of the underlying Hilbert space. Owing to their general structures, our IIs are applicable in a variety of contexts, such as the stability analysis of coupled PDE-ODE systems or cybernetic systems with delay structures.

A mixed potential integral equation (MPIE) method combined with anisotropic impedance boundary conditions is proposed for the analysis of scattering from layered media. In this method, anisotropic surface conductivity is modeled by the impedance boundary conditions. As a result, only these surfaces need to be discretized. Numerical example is demonstrated to show the accuracy of this method.

Incremental few-shot semantic segmentation (IFSS) aims to incrementally expand a semantic segmentation model’s ability to identify new classes based on few samples. However, it grapples with the dual challenges of catastrophic forgetting (due to feature drift in old classes) and overfitting (triggered by inadequate samples in new classes). To address these issues, a novel approach is proposed to integrate pixel-wise and region-wise contrastive learning, complemented by an optimized example and anchor sampling strategy. The proposed method incorporates a region memory and pixel memory designed to explore the high-dimensional embedding space more effectively. The memory, retaining the feature embeddings of known classes, facilitates the calibration and alignment of seen class features during the learning process of new classes. To further mitigate overfitting, the proposed approach implements an optimized example and anchor sampling strategy. Extensive experiments show the competitive performance of the proposed method. A high-quality enrollment speech is crucial to target speaker extraction (TSE), since it provides essential cues for identifying the target speaker in the mixture. However, real applications usually only permit a short enrollment speech, e.g. a wakeup word for a mobile device, that provides limited cues. To address this issue, we propose an enrollment augmentation strategy that allows us to enrich the limited enrollment speech with massive text data through speech synthesis. By doing so, the extended enrollment speech contains enhanced speaker timbre and phonetic content which leads to better extraction quality. Furthermore, we propose a training data augmentation strategy to improve the model’s robustness and generalization in short enrollment speech scenarios. Experiments on Libri2Mix demonstrate that our proposed strategies bring a significant improvement in extreme scenarios where only 0.5s and 1-word enrollment speech is provided. In this paper, the problem of joint user scheduling and computing resource allocation in asynchronous mobile edge computing (MEC) networks is studied. In such networks, edge devices will offload their computational tasks to an MEC server, using the energy they harvest from this server. To get their tasks processed on time using the harvested energy, edge devices will strategically schedule their task offloading, and compete for the computational resource at the MEC server. Then, the MEC server will execute these tasks asynchronously based on the arrival of the tasks. This joint user scheduling, time and computation resource allocation problem is posed as an optimization framework whose goal is to find the optimal scheduling and allocation strategy that minimizes the energy consumption of these mobile computing tasks. To solve this mixed-integer non-linear programming problem, the general benders decomposition method is adopted which decomposes the original problem into a primal problem and a master problem. Specifically, the primal problem is related to computation resource and time slot allocation, of which the optimal closed-form solution is obtained. The master problem regarding discrete user scheduling variables is constructed by adding optimality cuts or feasibility cuts according to whether the primal problem is feasible, which is a standard mixed-integer linear programming problem and can be efficiently solved. By iteratively solving the primal problem and master problem, the optimal scheduling and resource allocation scheme is obtained. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed asynchronous computing framework reduces 87.17% energy consumption compared with conventional synchronous computing counterpart.
