Traditional LiDAR SLAM approaches prioritize localization over mapping, yet high-precision dense maps are essential for numerous applications involving intelligent agents. Recent advancements have introduced methods leveraging neural fields to enhance mapping capabilities;however, these approaches still face several limitations. Firstly, concerning scene representation, they typically employ neural fields with high-dimensional features and multi-layer perceptron decoders utilizing non-continuous activation functions. This results in low learning efficiency and challenges in capturing high-frequency signals. Secondly, in terms of scene organization, these methods often treat the entire scene as a singular neural field, leading to inefficiencies, inflexibility, and difficulties in rectifying accumulated errors when mapping large-scale environments over extended periods. To tackle the first issue, we propose a lightweight continuous SDF regression approach by encoding the scene in single-valued embeddings and decoding SDF values from a Kolmogorov-Arnold Network. By minimizing discrepancies in measuring range, sampling distance, and decoded SDF values, we facilitate iterative frame-to-model tracking and bundle adjustment neural mapping. To mitigate the second challenge, we propose structuring the whole scene into multiple neural SDF submaps. By establishing node-node, node-submap, and loop closure constraints into a global pose graph, the system can create dense neural maps with global consistency across large-scale scenes. Experimental evaluations in both real-world and simulated settings indicate that our system achieves superior mapping completeness and accuracy, enhanced learning efficiency, reduced memory consumption, and greater flexibility compared to its counterparts. © 2025 IEEE.

The increasing deployment of unmanned surface vehicles (USVs) require computational support and coverage in applications such as maritime search and rescue. Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) can offer low-cost, flexible aerial services, and ground stations (GSs) can provide powerful supports, which can cooperate to help the USVs in complex scenarios. However, the collaboration between UAVs and GSs for USVs faces challenges of task uncertainties, USVs trajectory uncertainties, heterogeneities, and limited computational resources. To address these issues, we propose a cooperative UAV and GS based robust multi-access edge computing framework to assist USVs in completing computational tasks. Specifically, we formulate the optimization problem of joint task offloading and UAV trajectory to minimize the total execution time, which is in the form of mixed integer nonlinear programming and NP-hard to tackle. Therefore, we propose the algorithm of generative artificial intelligence-enhanced heterogeneous agent proximal policy optimization (GAI-HAPPO). The proposed algorithm integrates GAI models to enhance the actor network ability to model complex environments and extract high-level features, thereby allowing the algorithm to predict uncertainties and adapt to dynamic conditions. Additionally, GAI stabilizes the critic network, addressing the instability of multi-agent reinforcement learning approaches. Finally, extensive simulations demonstrate that the proposed algorithm outperforms the existing benchmark methods, thus highlighting the potentials in tackling intricate, cross-domain issues in the considered scenarios.

The task of detecting fraud in credit card transactions is crucial to ensure the security and stability of a financial system, as well as to enforce customer confidence in digital payment systems. Historically, credit card companies have used rule-based approaches to detect fraudulent transactions, but these have proven inadequate due to the complexity of fraud strategies and have been replaced by much more powerful solutions based on machine learning or deep learning algorithms. Despite significant progress, the current approaches to fraud detection suffer from a number of limitations: for example, it is unclear whether some transaction features are more effective than others in discriminating fraudulent transactions, and they often neglect possible correlations among transactions, even though they could reveal illicit behaviour. In this paper, we propose a novel credit card fraud detection (CCFD) method based on a transaction behaviour-based hierarchical gated network. First, we introduce a feature-oriented extraction module capable of identifying key features from original transactions, and such analysis is effective in revealing the behavioural characteristics of fraudsters. Second, we design a transaction-oriented extraction module capable of capturing the correlation between users' historical and current transactional behaviour. Such information is crucial for revealing users' sequential behaviour patterns. Our approach, called transactional-behaviour-based hierarchical gated network model (TbHGN), extracts two types of new transactional features, which are then combined in a feature interaction module to learn the final transactional representations used for CCFD. We have conducted extensive experiments on a real-world credit card transaction dataset with an increase in average F1 between 1.42% and 6.53% and an improvement in average AUC between 0.63% and 2.78% over the state of the art. © 2025 Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc.. This article investigates the adaptive resource allocation scheme for digital twin (DT) synchronization optimization over dynamic wireless networks. In our considered model, a base station (BS) continuously collects factory physical object state data from wireless devices to build a real-time virtual DT system for factory event analysis. Due to continuous data transmission, maintaining DT synchronization must use extensive wireless resources. To address this issue, a subset of devices is selected to transmit their sensing data, and resource block (RB) allocation is optimized. This problem is formulated as a constrained Markov process (CMDP) problem that minimizes the long-term mismatch between the physical and virtual systems. To solve this CMDP, we first transform the problem into a dual problem that refines RB constraint impacts on device scheduling strategies. We then propose a continual reinforcement learning (CRL) algorithm to solve the dual problem. The CRL algorithm learns a stable policy across historical experiences for quick adaptation to dynamics in physical states and network capacity. Simulation results show that the CRL can adapt quickly to network capacity changes and reduce normalized root mean square error (NRMSE) between physical and virtual states by up to 55.2%, using the same RB number as traditional methods. © 2025 IEEE. Outlier detection refers to the identification of anomalous samples that deviate significantly from the distribution of normal data and has been extensively studied and used in a variety of practical tasks. However, most unsupervised outlier detection methods are carefully designed to detect specified outliers, while real-world data may be entangled with different types of outliers. In this study, we propose a fuzzy rough sets-based multi-scale outlier detection method to identify various types of outliers. Specifically, a novel fuzzy rough sets-based method that integrates relative fuzzy granule density is first introduced to improve the capability of detecting local outliers. Then, a multi-scale view generation method based on granular-ball computing is proposed to collaboratively identify group outliers at different levels of granularity. Moreover, reliable outliers and inliers determined by the three-way decision are used to train a weighted support vector machine to further improve the performance of outlier detection. The proposed method innovatively transforms unsupervised outlier detection into a semi-supervised classification problem and for the first time explores the fuzzy rough sets-based outlier detection from the perspective of multi-scale granular balls, allowing for high adaptability to different types of outliers. Extensive experiments carried out on both artificial and UCI datasets demonstrate that the proposed outlier detection method significantly outperforms the state-of-the-art methods, improving the results by at least 8.48% in terms of the Area Under the ROC Curve (AUROC) index. Emotion recognition in conversation (ERC) aims at accurately identifying emotional states expressed in conversational content. Existing ERC methods, although relying on semantic understanding, often encounter challenges when confronted with incomplete or misleading semantic information. In addition, when dealing with the interaction between emotional and semantic information, existing methods are often difficult to effectively distinguish the complex relationship between the two, which affects the accuracy of emotion recognition. To address the problems of semantic misdirection and emotional cross-talk encountered by traditional models when confronted with complex conversational data, we propose a semantic and emotional dual channel (SEDC) strategy for emotion recognition in conversations to process emotional and semantic information independently. Under this strategy, emotion information provides an auxiliary recognition function when the semantics are unclear or lacking, enhancing the accuracy of the model. Our model consists of two modules: the emotion processing module accurately captures the emotional features of each utterance through contrastive learning, and then constructs a dialogue emotion propagation map to simulate the emotional information conveyed in the dialogue;the semantic processing module combines an external knowledge base to enhance the semantic expression of the dialogue through knowledge enhancement strategies. This divide-and-conquer approach allows us to more deeply analyze the emotional and semantic dimensions of complex dialogues. Experimental results on the IEMOCAP, EmoryNLP, MELD, and DailyDialog datasets show that our approach significantly outperforms existing techniques and effectively improves the accuracy of dialogue emotion recognition. Event-triggered control has attracted considerable attention for its effectiveness in resource-restricted applications. To make event-triggered control as an end-to-end solution, a key issue is how to effectively learn unknown system dynamics from event-triggered measurements and consequently, develop a learning-based event-triggered controller. Existing works learn system dynamics based on periodic time-triggered measurements, and it is yet to know how to learn a controller with performance guarantee based on event-triggered measurements. To address this issue, we consider the problem of learning an event-triggered state feedback controller for an unknown linear system based on event-triggered state measurements in this work. In particular, we first analyze the event-triggered measurements within a set-membership framework. We prove that the estimation error belongs to a bounded ellipsoid determined by the historical measurements and the event-triggering condition. Subsequently, we demonstrate that all admissible systems compatible with the collected data samples can be explicitly represented in the form of quadratic matrix inequalities using the state estimates. With the acquired set of admissible systems, a co-design problem for the data-driven controller and event-triggering condition is solved using the linear matrix inequality technique, with guaranteed closed-loop stability and L2-gain performance. Finally, numerical examples and comparisons are provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed event-triggered learning and control approach. © 1963-2012 IEEE.

Joint Secure and Covert Communications for Active STAR-RIS Assisted ISAC systems

This paper investigates the design of jointly supporting physical layer security (PLS) and covert communications (CCs) in an active simultaneously transmitting and reflecting reconfigurable intelligent surface (a-STAR-RIS) assisted integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) system. Due to the unified waveform design of ISAC signals, we consider a challenging scenario with two targets being suspicious attackers, where one warden target potentially detects the confidential transmission behavior of covert users and another eavesdropper target attempts to intercept the broadcasted confidential information of security users. We investigate the joint beamforming design at the base station (BS) and the a-STAR-RIS to achieve a high-quality sensing beampattern while meeting covertness and security communication requirements. (1) For the ideal scenario with perfect channel state information (CSI) and precise target locations, we propose an alternative optimization (AO) method to address the optimization problem involving highly coupled variables. Specifically, the optimal beamforming design at the BS is handled using the semi-definite relaxation (SDR) technique, while the beamforming design at the a-STAR-RIS is addressed through a penalty-based iterative algorithm. (2) A more practical case with uncertain target locations and imperfect CSI is considered to achieve a robust beamforming design, where the non-deterministic outage probability constraints are effectively transformed by employing the Bernstein-type inequality. Numerical results demonstrate the superiority of the a-STAR-RIS over the baseline cases and certify that the proposed algorithms can effectively balance the tradeoff among the sensing quality, covert and secure communication requirements. Besides, results also show that the proposed robust beamforming scheme can construct adequate sensing beampattern, even with imperfect CSI and uncertain target locations. © 2002-2012 IEEE.

Optimal Sensor Placement for Full-Set TDOA Localization Accounting for Sensor Location Errors

The positioning accuracy of a signal source is influenced by where the sensors are deployed. Studies in the literature for the optimal sensor placement (OSP) of localization often ignore the presence of sensor position errors. In practice, however, it is impossible to place the sensors precisely at the desired locations. This work designs OSP by accounting for the presence of Gaussian sensor position errors that are independent and identically distributed (IID), with the full set of Time Difference of Arrival measurements corrupted by Gaussian IID noise. The criterion is the A-optimality equal to the trace of the source position Cramer-Rao Bound (CRB). We show that the presence of sensor position errors introduces a multiplication factor to the same criterion for the case without sensor position errors. The latter factor is dependent on the ratio of the sensor position error power to the range difference noise power but independent of the sensor positions, implying that the A-optimality OSP in the presence of sensor position errors is the same as in the absence. To our knowledge, this is the first time such results have been derived. Simulation studies validate the derived OSP, show the minimal OSP performance gap with sensor positioning error and without, and illustrate the better source localization accuracy by OSP. © 1965-2011 IEEE.
