Building a neural speech recognizer for quranic recitations

This work is an effort towards building Neural Speech Recognizers system for Quranic recitations that can be effectively used by anyone regardless of their gender and age. Despite having a lot of recitations available online, most of them are recorded by professional male adult reciters, which means that an ASR system trained on such datasets would not work for female/child reciters. We address this gap by adopting a benchmark dataset of audio records of Quranic recitations that consists of recitations by both genders from different ages. Using this dataset, we build several speaker-independent NSR systems based on the DeepSpeech model and use word error rate (WER) for evaluating them. The goal is to show how an NSR system trained and tuned on a dataset of a certain gender would perform on a test set from the other gender. Unfortunately, the number of female recitations in our dataset is rather small while the number of male recitations is much larger. In the first set of experiments, we avoid the imbalance issue between the two genders and down-sample the male part to match the female part. For this small subset of our dataset, the results are interesting with 0.968 WER when the system is trained on male recitations and tested on female recitations. The same system gives 0.406 WER when tested on male recitations. On the other hand, training the system on female recitations and testing it on male recitation gives 0.966 WER while testing it on female recitations gives 0.608 WER. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature.

The following article presents the results of a study of the measurement of the surface topography of components manufactured by the additive Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) method, using polyamide powder PA 2200. The measurement of surface topography was carried out using three different optical measurement methods. The optical microscopy methods used in the study were compared: interferometric, confocal and focus variation. A Leica DCM8 microscope was used to carry out optical measurements. The conducted tests showed significant differences in the number of non-measured points in terms of selecting the appropriate measurement system for the elements produced by the SLS method, which may affect the reliability of the tests. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

The Intelligent Transportations system has garnered interest due to rising road safety and effectiveness demands in more interconnected road networks. Traffic prediction is an integral component of ITS and may aid in numerous areas, including road routing and congestion reduction. So, many people in the research community are interested in intelligent transportation systems. Only a few review articles have addressed this topic. This paper presents a comprehensive literature review of support vector machines (SVMs), evaluation, classification, and essential concepts of recent literature sources. It also provides valuable information to transportation application researchers and developers. There is ongoing research into the potential uses of the SVM, a trustworthy and efficient classification method in machine learning. This work has addressed the utilization of the SVM classifier by reviewing several papers. This article summarizes the research on using support vector machines (SVMs) to forecast path obstacles. After a comprehensive analysis and thoughtful topic selection, the findings reveal all the unsolved problems and produce some significant discoveries that could be considered good future research directions.

In the literature,numerous techniques have been employed to decrease noise in medical image modalities,including X-Ray(XR),Ultrasonic(Us),Computed Tomography(CT),Magnetic Resonance Imaging(MRI),and Positron Emission Tomography(PET).These techniques are organized into two main classes:the Multiple Image(MI)and the Single Image(SI)*** the MI techniques,images usually obtained for the same area scanned from different points of view are used.A single image is used in the entire procedure in the SI *** denoising techniques can be carried out both in a transform or spatial *** paper is concerned with single-image noise reduction techniques because we deal with single medical *** most well-known spatial domain noise reduction techniques,including Gaussian filter,Kuan filter,Frost filter,Lee filter,Gabor filter,Median filter,Homomorphic filter,Speckle reducing anisotropic diffusion(SRAD),Nonlocal-Means(NL-Means),and Total Variation(TV),are ***,the transform domain noise reduction techniques,including wavelet-based and Curvelet-based techniques,and some hybridization techniques are ***,a deep(Convolutional Neural Network)CNN-based denoising model is proposed to eliminate Gaussian and Speckle noises in different medical image *** model utilizes the Batch Normalization(BN)and the ReLU as a basic *** a result,it attained a considerable improvement over the traditional *** previously mentioned techniques are evaluated and compared by calculating qualitative visual inspection and quantitative parameters like Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio(PSNR),Correlation Coefficient(Cr),and system complexity to determine the optimum denoising algorithm to be applied *** on the quality metrics,it is demonstrated that the proposed deep CNN-based denoising model is efficient and has superior denoising performance over the traditionaldenoising techniques.

In order to cope with the widespread emergence of malicious APK in the application market and the increasingly rampant situation of mobile malware, as well as to meet the needs of the actual forensics work, this paper, based on the analysis of Android security mechanisms and their security problems, analyses and summarises the methodological principles, main technologies and functional flaws of existing APK automated analysis tools, and proposes an APK automated analysis system for actual forensics. Compared with traditional systems, the system is easy to operate and has a higher recognition accuracy rate. The Advanced Encryption Standard cryptographic algorithm,named AES,is implemented in cryptographic circuits to ensure high security level to any system which required confidentiality and secure information *** of the most effective physical attacks against the hardware implementation of AES is fault attacks which can extract secret *** now,a several AES fault detection schemes against fault injection attacks have been *** this paper,so as to ensure a high level of security against fault injection attacks,a new efficient fault detection scheme based on the AES architecture modification has been *** this reason,the AES 32-bit round is divided into two half rounds and input and pipeline registers are implemented between *** proposed scheme is independent of the procedure the AES is ***,it can be implemented to secure the pipeline and iterative *** evaluate the robustness of the proposed fault detection scheme against fault injection attacks,we conduct a transient and permanent fault attacks and then we determine the fault detection capability;it is about 99.88585%and 99.9069%for transient and permanent faults *** have modeled the AES fault detection scheme using VHDL hardware language and through hardware FPGA *** FPGA results demonstrate that our scheme can efficiently protect the AES hardware implementation against fault *** can be simply implemented with low *** addition,the FPGA implementation performances prove the low area overhead and the high efficiency and working frequency for the proposed AES detection scheme.

In this paper, we consider an optimization problem in a mobile edge computing (MEC) multi-user network for collecting fresh information under bandwidth and energy constraints. We use the popular metric Age of Information (AoI) to measure the data freshness. To solve the age optimization problem, we first relax the bandwidth constraints, and then decouple the problem, where each sub-problem is formulated into a constrained Markov decision process (CMDP) problem. Due to the fast mobility of the users, the distribution of channel state information and size of raw data is difficult to obtain for the base station. To overcome the unknown channel statistics challenge, we introduce a Reinforcement-Learning-based Q-learning algorithm to learn the channel information, which helps to guide the optimal scheduling decision. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm can achieve the better AoI performance compared with other traditional algorithm while satisfying bandwidth and energy constraints. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper models a platooning system consisting of trucks and a third-party service provider (TPSP), which performs platoon coordination, distributes the platooning profit in platoons, and charges trucks in exchange for the services. Government subsidies used to incentivize platooning are also considered. We propose a pricing rule for the TPSP, which keeps part of the platooning profit including the subsidy each time a platoon is formed. In addition, a platoon coordination solution based on the distributed model predictive control (MPC) is proposed, in which the pricing rule under government subsidies is integrated. We perform a realistic simulation over the Swedish road network to evaluate the impact of the pricing rule and subsidies on the achieved profits and fuel savings. Our results show that subsidies are an effective mean to boost fuel savings from platooning. Moreover, the simulation study indicates that high pricing corresponds to a low platooning rate of the system, as trucks' incentives for platooning decrease. © 2023 The Authors. The As a kind of aircraft without carrying operators, unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) has been rapidly developed in the civil field. It is widely used in police, urban management, agriculture, geology, meteorology, electric power, disaster relief and other industries. However, the current police UAV still has shortcomings in specific target recognition and tracking. Therefore, the police UAV equipped with target recognition technology is designed in this project to enhance its performance. The project also investigates the materials and structure of police UAV, and focuses on target recognition systems which use sensors and algorithms to identify, classify and track targets, providing support for autonomous navigation and surveillance of UAV. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd 2024.
