Also, a novel state-space adaptive observer-based tracker scheme for nonlinear time-varying sampled-data systems, which have unanticipated decay factors in the actuators, has been proposed in this paper. Here, we utilize the advantage of digital redesign methodology to convert a theoretically well-designed analog controller/observer with a high-gain property into its corresponding low-gain digital controller/observer for a practical implementation.

An encoding technique is an interesting problem in information theory (i.e., how to reduce the size of the textual material when information is continually sent from one point to another.) The important factors to improve efficiency of the encoding process are probability distribution and dependency of the input data. Some encoding algorithms focused on these factors are Huffman algorithm, Lempel-Ziv algorithm and enhance versions of them. In some cases, dependency of the input data is not significant, but the probability distribution remains considerable. In this paper, we propose a novel approach for an on-line encoding algorithm using a generating function that the encoding process performs in an on-line manner. Our concept is that the generating function must be constructed up to the probability distribution. This paper presents a shape prediction algorithm in a noisy video sequence based on pixel representation in the undecimated wavelet domain. In our algorithm for tracking of user-defined shapes in a noisy sequence of images, the amplitude of coefficients in the best basis tree expansion of the undecimated wavelet packet transform are used as feature vectors (FVs). FVs robustness against noise has been achieved through inherent denoising and edge component separation in the best basis selection algorithm. The algorithm uses these FVs to track the pixels of small square blocks located at the vicinity of the object boundary. Searching for the best-matched block has been performed using conventional block matching algorithm in the wavelet domain. Our experimental results show that the algorithm is robust to noise in case of object's shape translation, rotation and/or scaling and can be used to track both rigid and non-rigid shapes in image sequences

This paper presents the design and development of feed network for 16 elements array antenna operating at IMT 2000 band (1885-2200 MHz). The feed network was simulated and optimized using e-m Sonnet® Suite Release 7.0 software. The circuit was fabricated on a substrate with a dielectric constant Εr = 3.5 and a thickness, h of 0.76 mm. The measurement was carried out using Agilent E8358A digital Network Analyzer. The project meets the design requirement. This feed network can be used in phased array antenna system for 3G applications.

Active voluntary contraction of the calf muscle is an essential factor in the circulatory system. Failure to exercise the calf muscles for prolonged periods may result in limited or poor blood circulation in the lower leg and increase the risk of deep vein thrombosis (DVT). An association between long distance travel and increased risk of DVT has been established. Most airlines recommend a number of lower leg exercises as a DVT preventative measure. Not all lower leg exercises induce calf muscle pump activity and therefore may not be beneficial in the prevention of DVT. A study was devised to investigate the exercises recommended to passengers for DVT prevention on long distance flights to determine a potential benefit to the health and safety of the passenger. The technique used for the evaluation of recommended airline exercises for optimal calf muscle pump activity is described.

With rapid growth of computer networks during the past few years, network security has become a crucial issue. Among the various network security measures, intrusion detection systems (IDS) play a vital role to integrity, confidentiality and availability of resources. It seems that the presence of uncertainty and the imprecise nature of the intrusions make fuzzy systems suitable for such systems. Fuzzy systems are not normally adaptive and have not the ability to construct models solely based on the target system's sample data. One of the successful approaches which are incorporated fuzzy systems with adaptation and learning capabilities is the neural fuzzy method. The main objective of this work is to utilize ANFIS (adaptive neuro fuzzy inference system) as a classifier to detect intrusions in computer networks. This paper evaluates performance of ANFIS in the forms of binary and multi-classifier to categorize activities of a system into normal and suspicious or intrusive activities. Experiments for evaluation of the classifiers were performed with the KDD Cup 99 intrusion detection dataset. The Overall Results show that ANFIS can be effective in detecting various intrusions.

This paper proposed,for UWB radio,a novel interference suppression technique,covariance shaping multiuser detection(CSMU)We demonstrate the improvement of multiuser detection for an UWB pulse based direct sequence spread spectrum system using code division multiple access and show that an application of covariance shaping multiuser detection (CSMU) can reject interference in multiuser wireless communication *** results show that the CSMU has better performance than decorrelator and match-filter receiver in many users UWB systems. However,the CSMU has much greater than linear MMSE receiver in dynamic range and does not require to know channel.
