Human Action Recognition(HAR)attempts to recognize the human action from images and *** major challenge in HAR is the design of an action descriptor that makes the HAR system robust for different environments.A novel action descriptor is proposed in this study,based on two independent spatial and spectral *** proposed descriptor uses a Difference of Gaussian(DoG)filter to extract scale-invariant features and a Difference of Wavelet(DoW)filter to extract spectral *** create a composite feature vector for a particular test action picture,the Discriminant of Guassian(DoG)and Difference of Wavelet(DoW)features are *** Discriminant Analysis(LDA),a widely used dimensionality reduction technique,is also used to eliminate duplicate ***,a closest neighbor method is used to classify the *** and UCF 11 datasets were used to run extensive simulations of the suggested strategy,and the accuracy assessed after the simulations were run on Weizmann datasets for five-fold cross validation is shown to perform *** average accuracy of DoG+DoW is observed as 83.6635%while the average accuracy of Discrinanat of Guassian(DoG)and Difference of Wavelet(DoW)is observed as 80.2312%and 77.4215%,*** average accuracy measured after the simulation of proposed methods over UCF 11 action dataset for five-fold cross validation DoG+DoW is observed as 62.5231%while the average accuracy of Difference of Guassian(DoG)and Difference of Wavelet(DoW)is observed as 60.3214%and 58.1247%,*** the above accuracy observations,the accuracy of Weizmann is high compared to the accuracy of UCF 11,hence verifying the effectiveness in the improvisation of recognition accuracy.

Authentication of the digital image has much attention for the digital *** image authentication can be verified with image watermarking and image encryption *** schemes are widely used to protect images against forgery attacks,and they are useful for protecting copyright and rightful *** on the desirable applications,several image encryption and watermarking schemes have been proposed to moderate this *** framework presents a new scheme that combines a Walsh Hadamard Transform(WHT)-based image watermarking scheme with an image encryption scheme based on Double Random Phase Encoding(DRPE).First,on the sender side,the secret medical image is encrypted using *** the encrypted image is watermarking based on *** combination between watermarking and encryption increases the security and robustness of transmitting an *** performance evaluation of the proposed scheme is obtained by testing Structural Similarity Index(SSIM),Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio(PSNR),Normalized cross-correlation(NC),and Feature Similarity Index(FSIM).

This research paper aims to address an optimization problem concerning production, logistics and maintenance in a complex fuel production system characterized by multiple machines, sites and customer demands. The key challenge is to satisfy all customer demands within a limited planning horizon, while maintaining a specified level of service. The objective is to determine an optimal production plan for each site, and a transportation plan between sites to take account of site unavailability or unmet demands. Finally, an optimal maintenance strategy is developed, based on the influence of production rate on machine failure rate. A numerical example is presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed model. © 2023 computers and Industrial engineering. All rights reserved.

Inductive wireless power transfer charging for electric vehicles encounters a significant challenge due to heightened common-mode current, impacting safety and electromagnetic interference (EMI) emissions. This study introduces an innovative inverter topology tailored specifically for inductive wireless power transfer charging. The novel topology aims to lower common-mode voltage while entirely eliminating common-mode current generation. By incorporating an extra capacitor and discrete diode, the proposed inverter topology maintains an equivalent number of power switches as the conventional H-bridge inverter. Utilizing theoretical analysis, simulation and experiments, the study comprehensively compares the proposed inverter with the established traditional inductive charging system. Evaluation factors encompass functionality, common-mode voltage and current behavior, power losses, and overall efficiency. The results unequivocally showcase the benefits of the proposed inverter. Notably, it successfully suppresses common-mode current, thereby enhancing safety and reducing EMI emissions. Additionally, the proposed topology demonstrates heightened efficiency compared to the traditional inverter. In sum, these findings underscore the significant advantages of the suggested inverter, highlighting its potential to mitigate common-mode current challenges and elevate operational efficiency. © 2023 IEEE.

Transportation systems primarily depend on vehicular flow on roads. Developed coun-tries have shifted towards automated signal control, which manages and updates signal synchronisation automatically. In contrast, traffic in underdeveloped countries is mainly governed by manual traffic light systems. These existing manual systems lead to numerous issues, wasting substantial resources such as time, energy, and fuel, as they cannot make real‐time decisions. In this work, we propose an algorithm to determine traffic signal durations based on real‐time vehicle density, obtained from live closed circuit television camera feeds adjacent to traffic signals. The algorithm automates the traffic light system, making decisions based on vehicle density and employing Faster R‐CNN for vehicle detection. Additionally, we have created a local dataset from live streams of Punjab Safe City cameras in collaboration with the local police authority. The proposed algorithm achieves a class accuracy of 96.6% and a vehicle detection accuracy of 95.7%. Across both day and night modes, our proposed method maintains an average precision, recall, F1 score, and vehicle detection accuracy of 0.94, 0.98, 0.96 and 0.95, respectively. Our proposed work surpasses all evaluation metrics compared to state‐of‐the‐art methodologies.

Hyperspectral imaging is gaining a significant role in agricultural remote sensing *** data unit is the hyperspectral cube which holds spatial information in two dimensions while spectral band information of each pixel in the third *** classification accuracy of hyperspectral images(HSI)increases significantly by employing both spatial and spectral *** this work,the data was acquired using an airborne hyperspectral imager system which collected HSI in the visible and near-infrared(VNIR)range of 400 to 1000 nm wavelength within 180 spectral *** dataset is collected for nine different crops on agricultural land with a spectral resolution of 3.3 nm wavelength for each *** data was cleaned from geometric distortions and stored with the class labels and annotations of global localization using the inertial navigation *** this study,a unique pixel-based approach was designed to improve the crops'classification accuracy by using the edge-preserving features(EPF)and principal component analysis(PCA)in *** preliminary processing generated the high-dimensional EPF stack by applying the edge-preserving filters on acquired *** the second step,this high dimensional stack was treated with the PCA for dimensionality reduction without losing significant spectral *** resultant feature space(PCA-EPF)demonstrated enhanced class separability for improved crop classification with reduced dimensionality and computational *** support vector machines classifier was employed for multiclass classification of target crops using *** classification performance evaluation was measured in terms of individual class accuracy,overall accuracy,average accuracy,and Cohen kappa *** proposed scheme achieved greater than 90%results for all the performance evaluation *** PCA-EPF proved to be an effective attribute for crop classification using hyperspectral imaging in the VNIR *** proposed scheme

Museum ecosystems need digital transformation to provide value added to museums. This study discusses the digital museum ecosystem conceptual model based on artificial intelligence (AI) technology and the Internet of Things (IoT). The new conceptual model integrates three elements of the museum ecosystem, people, collections & infrastructure, and museum services collaborating and communicating to achieve outputs in supporting the achievement of museum organizational goals through IoT and AI-based digital technology. The conceptual model describes various forms of implementing IoT and AI in the museum ecosystem for museum management along with the value added or results generated for museum management. The development of this ecosystem conceptual model into a physical museum has an impact on optimizing museum performance by providing value added in the form of convenience and prosperity for users and various museum stakeholders, especially in Society 5.0. © 2023 IEEE.

Smoking is a major cause of cancer,heart disease and other afflictions that lead to early *** effective smoking classification mechanism that provides insights into individual smoking habits would assist in implementing addiction treatment *** activities often accompany other activities such as drinking or ***,smoking activity recognition can be a challenging topic in human activity recognition(HAR).A deep learning framework for smoking activity recognition(SAR)employing smartwatch sensors was proposed together with a deep residual network combined with squeeze-and-excitation modules(ResNetSE)to increase the effectiveness of the SAR *** proposed model was tested against basic convolutional neural networks(CNNs)and recurrent neural networks(LSTM,BiLSTM,GRU and BiGRU)to recognize smoking and other similar activities such as drinking,eating and walking using the UT-Smoke *** different scenarios were investigated for their recognition performances using standard HAR metrics(accuracy,F1-score and the area under the ROC curve).Our proposed ResNetSE outperformed the other basic deep learning networks,with maximum accuracy of 98.63%.
