Estimating high-dimensional covariance matrices is crucial in various domains. This work considers a scenario where two collaborating agents access disjoint dimensions of m samples from a high-dimensional random vector, and they can only communicate a limited number of bits to a central server, which wants to accurately approximate the covariance matrix. We analyze the fundamental trade-off between communication cost, number of samples, and estimation accuracy. We prove a lower bound on the error achievable by any estimator, highlighting the impact of dimensions, number of samples, and communication budget. Furthermore, we present an algorithm that achieves this lower bound up to a logarithmic factor, demonstrating its near-optimality in practical settings. Copyright 2024 by the author(s)

digital transformation is about transforming processes, business models, domains, and culture. Studies show that the failure rate of digital transformation is quite high up to 90%. Studies show that the transformational leadership model has a significant impact on digital transformation adoption. This paper identifies the positive and negative attributes of transformational leadership including the components that support and are affected for successful adoption of digital transformation. Furthermore, the paper combines several findings related to the attributes and components in the form of a conceptual framework. The conceptual framework can serve as a guide for organizations for their digital transformation journey. © 2023 The Authors. Published by Elsevier B.V.

As one of the major threats to the current DeFi(Decentralized Finance)ecosystem,reentrant attack induces data inconsistency of the victim smart contract,enabling attackers to steal on-chain assets from DeFi projects,which could terribly do harm to the confidence of the blockchain ***,protecting DeFi projects from the reentrant attack is very difficult,since generating a call loop within the highly automatic DeFi ecosystem could be very *** researchers mainly focus on the detection of the reentrant vulnerabilities in the code testing,and no method could promise the non-existent of reentrant *** this paper,we introduce the database lock mechanism to isolate the correlated smart contract states from other operations in the same contract,so that we can prevent the attackers from abusing the inconsistent smart contract *** to the existing resolutions of front-running,code audit,andmodifier,our method guarantees protection resultswith better *** we further evaluate our method on a number of de facto reentrant attacks observed from *** results prove that our method could efficiently prevent the reentrant attack with less running cost.

The monocular 3D object detection methods based on Transformer have recently progressed significantly. However, most existing methods struggle to effectively handle fine-grained objects and complex scenes, particularly when capturing the features of occluded or small objects. To tackle these issues, we propose a monocular 3D object detector, CU-DETR, based on the MonoDETR framework. CU-DETR introduces the local-global fusion encoder to enhance local feature extraction and fusion and applies an uncertainty perturbation strategy in position encoding to enhance the model’s performance in handling complex scenes. Experimental results on the KITTI public dataset demonstrate that CU-DETR outperforms the MonoDETR. © 2024 SPIE.

Worldwide cotton is the most profitable cash *** year the production of this crop suffers because of several *** an early stage,computerized methods are used for disease detection that may reduce the loss in the production of *** several methods are proposed for the detection of cotton diseases,however,still there are limitations because of low-quality images,size,shape,variations in orientation,and complex *** to these factors,there is a need for novel methods for features extraction/selection for the accurate cotton disease *** in this research,an optimized features fusion-based model is proposed,in which two pre-trained architectures called EfficientNet-b0 and Inception-v3 are utilized to extract features,each model extracts the feature vector of length N×*** that,the extracted features are serially concatenated having a feature vector lengthN×*** prominent features are selected usingEmperor PenguinOptimizer(EPO)*** method is evaluated on two publically available datasets,such as Kaggle cotton disease dataset-I,and Kaggle *** EPO method returns the feature vector of length 1×755,and 1×824 using dataset-I,and dataset-II,*** classification is performed using 5,7,and 10 folds *** Quadratic Discriminant Analysis(QDA)classifier provides an accuracy of 98.9%on 5 fold,98.96%on 7 fold,and 99.07%on 10 fold using Kaggle cotton disease dataset-I while the Ensemble Subspace K Nearest Neighbor(KNN)provides 99.16%on 5 fold,98.99%on 7 fold,and 99.27%on 10 fold using Kaggle cotton-leaf-infection dataset-II.

In the ever-evolving landscape of cyber security, the prevalence of phishing attacks poses a formidable threat to information security systems worldwide, compromising data integrity and eroding user trust. This paper introduces an innovative solution harnessing artificial intelligence to identify and analyze phishing domains, particularly focusing on newly registered domains from public databases like WHOIS. This approach is crucial as traditional security measures often prove insufficient against the sophistication of phishing tactics. Our proposed AI-driven system employs an analysis strategy. It utilizes machine learning to conduct an in-depth backend code and content analysis. This involves comparing suspect and legitimate sites for structural and syntactical disparities, utilizing deep learning models trained on extensive datasets of known phishing and authentic domains. These methodologies offer a nuanced evaluation, crucial for distinguishing sophisticated phishing attempts from genuine domains. Additionally, the system excels at identifying malicious links within these domains, enhancing its overall protective capabilities. The efficiency of our solution lies in its capacity for real-time, accurate threat detection. We introduce a probabilistic scoring mechanism that assesses the likelihood of a domain being a phishing site, facilitating informed decision-making for cyber security personnel. Furthermore, our system is designed for seamless integration into existing cyber security frameworks, providing versatility and ease of use. © 2024 IEEE.

A nano-scale design of a multiply-accumulate unit for digital signal processing based on quantum computing

digital signal processing (DSP) is used in computer processing to conduct different signal-processing tasks. The DSPs are used in the series numbers representing a continuous variable in a domain such as time, area, or frequency. The multiply-accumulate (MAC) unit is crucial in various DSP applications, including convolution, discrete cosine transform (DCT), Fourier Transform, etc. Thus, all DSPs contain a critical MAC unit in signal processing. The MAC unit conducts multiplication and accumulation operations for continuous and complicated DSP application processes. On the other hand, in the MAC structure, the stability of the circuit and the occupied area pose some significant challenges. However, high-performance quantum technology can easily overcome all the previous shortcomings. Hence, this paper suggests an efficient MAC for DSP applications using a Vedic multiplier, half adder, and accumulator based on quantum technology. All the proposed structures have used a single-layer layout without rotated cells. The suggested architecture is designed and validated based on the QCADesigner 2.0.3 tool. The findings revealed that all the developed circuits have a simple architecture with fewer quantum cells, optimal area, and low latency. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature.

Recyclability and self-healing are two most critical factors in developing sustainable polymers to deal with environmental pollution and resource *** this work,a dynamic cross-linked polyimide insulation film with full closed-loop recyclability is successfully prepared,which also possesses good self-healing ability after being mechanical/electrical damaged depending on the Schiff base dynamic covalent *** recycled and self-healed polyimide film still maintain its good tensile strength(r t)>60 MPa with Young’s modulus(E)>4 GPa,high thermal stability with glass transition temperature(T g)>220℃,and outstanding insulation property with breakdown strength(E 0)>358 kV mm^(-1),making it a very promising low energy consumption and high temperature resistant insulation *** strategy of using Schiff base dynamic covalent bonds for reversible repairing the structure of high T g polyimides promotes the wider application of such sustainable and recyclable material in the field of electrical power and micro-electronics.
