On the complete weight distributions of quantum error-correcting codes

In a recent paper, Hu et al. defined the complete weight distributions of quantum codes and proved the Mac Williams identities, and as applications they showed how such weight distributions may be used to obtain the singleton-type and hamming-type bounds for asymmetric quantum codes. In this paper we extend their study much further and obtain several new results concerning the complete weight distributions of quantum codes and applications. In particular, we provide a new proof of the Mac Williams identities of the complete weight distributions of quantum codes. We obtain new information about the weight distributions of quantum MDS codes and the double weight distribution of asymmetric quantum MDS codes. We get new identities involving the complete weight distributions of two different quantum codes. We estimate the complete weight distributions of quantum codes under special conditions and show that quantum BCH codes by the Hermitian construction from primitive, narrow-sense BCH codes satisfy these conditions and hence these estimate applies.

Authorization policy requirements in commercial applications are often richer compared to military applications in terms of the types of privileges required, and more complex in terms of both the nature and degree of interactions between participating objects. Delegation and joint action mechanisms allow a more flexible and dynamic form of access control, thereby enabling the representation of sophisticated authorization policies. This paper explores some issues that need to be addressed when designing joint actions based authorization policies, and their ramifications for trust of various components in the architecture. We consider an example from the medical field, *** define attributes relevant to the design of joint action schemes and present three schemes for supporting joint action based authorization policies.

Current off-fine electronic cash systems require at least one interaction between the client and the vendor for each coin. We propose a new electronic cash scheme that requires only one interaction between the client and the vendor for a complete electronic transaction. Fog computing for vehicular Ad-hoc networks: paradigms, scenarios, and issues

Vehicular Ad-hoc networks（VANETs） are kinds of mobile Ad-hoc networks（MANETs）, which consist of mobile vehicles with on-board units（OBUs） and roadside units（RSUs）. With the rapid development of computation and communication technologies, peripheral or incremental changes in VANETs evolve into a revolution in process. Cloud computing as a solution has been deployed to satisfy vehicles in VANETs which are expected to require resources（such as computing, storage and networking）. Recently, with special requirements of mobility, location awareness, and low latency, there has been growing interest in research into the role of fog computing in VANETs. The merging of fog computing with VANETs opens an area of possibilities for applications and services on the edge of the cloud computing. Fog computing deploys highly virtualized computing and communication facilities at the proximity of mobile vehicles in VANET. Mobile vehicles in VANET can also demand services of low-latency and short-distance local connections via fog computing. This paper presents the current state of the research and future perspectives of fog computing in VANETs. Moreover, we discuss the characteristics of fog computing and services based on fog computing platform provided for VANETs. In this paper, some opportunities for challenges and issues are mentioned, related techniques that need to be considered have been discussed in the context of fog computing in VANETs. Finally, we discuss about research directions of potential future work for fog computing in VANETs. Within this article, readers can have a more thorough understanding of fog computing for VANETs and the trends in this domain.

As the proliferation of ubiquitous devices moves computation away from the conventional desktop computer boundaries, distributed systems design is being exposed to new challenges. A distributed system supporting a ubiquitous computing application must deal with a wider spectrum of hardware architectures featuring structural and functional differences, and resources limitations. Due to its architecture independent infrastructure and object-oriented programming model, the Java programming environment can support flexible solutions for addressing the diversity among these devices. Unfortunately, Java solutions are often associated with high costs in terms of resource consumption, which limits the range of devices that can benefit from this approach. In this paper, we present an architecture that deals with the cost and complexity of running Java programs by partitioning the process of Java program execution between system nodes and remote devices. The system nodes prepare a Java application for execution on a remote device by generating device-specific native code and application-specific runtime system on the fly. The resulting infrastructure provides the flexibility of a high-level programming model and the architecture independence specific to Java. At the same time the amount of resources consumed by an application on the targeted device are comparable to that of a native implementation. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2001.

Background At present,the teaching of experiments in primary and secondary schools is affected by cost and security *** research on virtual experiment platforms has alleviated these ***,the lack of real experimental equipment and use of a single channel to understand user intentions weaken these platforms operationally and degrade the naturalness of *** To solve these problems,we propose an intelligent experimental container structure and a situational awareness algorithm,both of which are verified and applied to a chemical experiment involving virtual-real ***,the acquired images are denoised in the visual channel using the maximum diffuse reflection chroma to remove ***,container situational awareness is realized by segmenting the image liquid level and establishing a relation-fitting ***,strategies for constructing complete behaviors and making priority comparisons among behaviors are adopted for information complementarity and independence,respectively.A multichannel intentional understanding model and an inter-active paradigm that integrates vision,hearing,and touch are *** The experimental results show that the accuracy of the intelligent container situation awareness proposed in this paper reaches 99%,and the accuracy of the proposed intention understanding algorithm reaches 94.7%.The test shows that the intelligent experimental system based on the new interaction paradigm also has better performance and a more realistic sense of operation experience in terms of experimental *** The results indicate that the proposed experimental container and algorithm can achieve a natural level of human-computer interaction in a virtual chemical experiment platform,enhance the user′s sense of operation,and achieve high levels of user satisfaction.

As application requirements diverge, it is becoming increasingly clear that the one size fits all operating system design strategy is obsolete. Customizable system services would allow application-specific optimizations, and various customization strategies have been proposed. These vary widely and, depending on the required level of application-developer involvement, can be categorized as parametric variation, interposition or synthesis methods. We present a common architectural infrastructure for operating system components which allows customization by any of diese approaches. Our ongoing implementation based on this framework is beginning to show mat support for application-specific customization can be incorporated into existing commercial operating systems.

This paper presents a novel algorithm named Double-layer Multi-expression Programming (DMEP). Then DMEP model is applied to the prediction of 28-day Portland cement compressive strength. We compare DMEP model with other four soft computing models, namely Multi-Expression Programming model (MEP), Gene Expression Programming model (GEP), Neural networks model (NN) and Fuzzy logic model (FL) on 28-day cement strength prediction. The experiment results show that DMEP model has a lower rate in RMSE and MAE, and the prediction average percentage error of the cement strength data using DMEP model is reduced to 2.18%, which is lower than other four models. The results obtained from the computational tests demonstrate that DMEP is a promising technique for the prediction of cement strength. © 2012 IEEE.
