In this paper, we present the Rollick Games platform and its Pervasive Game Modeling Language that enables the description of location-based pervasive games using a GUI provided by the Game Studio web app. The runtime environment (Pervasive Game Execution Environment) is responsible for generating the Pervasive Game Execution Language from a game model and loading it to an instance of the game's Execution Engine. The Execution Environment includes a set of agents responsible for monitoring the players’ context and interaction with other game elements and among each other. The Engine follows an event-driven paradigm and uses an event loop waiting for events to be dispatched from the agents to carry out its computations based on its current state, context, and event data. The proposed approach allows for both sharing and reusing game models, significantly reducing time to market and development costs. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

The efficient use of flexibility that lies in the Distribution Network (DN) is essential for the integration of distributed energy sources. The Feasible Operating Region (FOR) can be used to aggregate this flexibility and enable its efficient use. Conventional methods used to estimate the FOR feature several disadvantages that can be mitigated using metaheuristic optimization methods, such as the Genetic Algorithm (GA). This paper is the first to use GA in the context of the FOR estimation problem, introducing the GA-FOR methodology. The characteristics and intricacies of the proposed methodology are thoroughly described, with emphasis on the fitness function, and the introduction of a problem-specific GA operator. The effectiveness of the GA-FOR is demonstrated using a case study, where the accuracy and efficiency of the method is compared to that of its nonlinear optimization counterpart. © 2023 IEEE.

Good quality healthcare services require effective communication between the patient and the healthcare provider. This work will help improve the areas of healthcare systems automation and optimization by applying Speech Emotion Recognition (SER) in health consultations to prevent miscommunication between patients and healthcare providers. Crowd-Sourced Emotional Multimodal Actors Dataset (CREMA-D) was used to compare the performances of different machine learning models in classifying emotions. Before feeding the raw dataset to the models, exploratory data analysis was done to determine features that should be considered for future analysis. Our results showed that depending on the emotion, there are some syllab.es in the text that were emphasized or took time to be pronounced by the speaker. After data analysis, the dataset was fed into different models and determined that the Support Vector Machine (SVM) is a machine-learning model for SER.

Human nose detects every kind of odors and our brain responds to every kind of smell that we are inhaling, so in the same way artificial nose or the electronic nose is a device that detects the smell and can enable the scope of digital smell technology. So, this paper proposes to optimize the design of an electronic nose that will eventually bring modification to the various digital platforms like internet, computers, mobile, television and tablets. We focused on design optimization of electronic nose which is built on a multichannel gas sensor array. The proposed electronic nose will enable the transmission or reception of smell over the internet and other digital platforms. The device can detect the smells of vapors coming out of volatile organic compounds. The sensing system is 3D printed in the model of a human nose. The sensing system works with an accuracy of detection of 90.45%. The response time of the electronic nose is 60 to 90 seconds, sometimes it is lesser than 60 seconds and it varies from substance to substance.

In the design and planning of next-generation Internet of Things(IoT),telecommunication,and satellite communication systems,controller placement is crucial in software-defined networking(SDN).The programmability of the SDN controller is sophisticated for the centralized control system of the entire ***,it creates a significant loophole for the manifestation of a distributed denial of service(DDoS)attack ***,recently a distributed Reflected Denial of Service(DRDoS)attack,an unusual DDoS attack,has been ***,minimal deliberation has given to this forthcoming single point of SDN infrastructure failure ***,recently the high frequencies of DDoS attacks have increased *** this paper,a smart algorithm for planning SDN smart backup controllers under DDoS attack scenarios has *** proposed smart algorithm can recommend single or multiple smart backup controllers in the event of DDoS *** obtained simulated results demonstrate that the validation of the proposed algorithm and the performance analysis achieved 99.99%accuracy in placing the smart backup controller under DDoS attacks within 0.125 to 46508.7 s in SDN.

In software-defined networks(SDNs),controller placement is a critical factor in the design and planning for the future Internet of Things(IoT),telecommunication,and satellite communication *** research has concentrated largely on factors such as reliability,latency,controller capacity,propagation delay,and energy ***,SDNs are vulnerable to distributed denial of service(DDoS)attacks that interfere with legitimate use of the *** ever-increasing frequency of DDoS attacks has made it necessary to consider them in network design,especially in critical applications such as military,health care,and financial services networks requiring high *** propose a mathematical model for planning the deployment of SDN smart backup controllers(SBCs)to preserve service in the presence of DDoS *** a number of input parameters,our model has two distinct ***,it determines the optimal number of primary controllers to place at specific locations or nodes under normal operating ***,it recommends an optimal number of smart backup controllers for use with different levels of DDoS *** goal of the model is to improve resistance to DDoS attacks while optimizing the overall cost based on the *** simulated results demonstrate that the model is useful in planning for SDN reliability in the presence of DDoS attacks while managing the overall cost.

With the rapid development of the satellite industry, the information transmission network based on communication satellites has gradually become a major and important part of the future satellite ground integration network. However, the low transmission efficiency of the satellite data relay back mission has become a problem that is currently constraining the construction of the system and needs to be solved urgently. Effectively planning the task of satellite ground networking by reasonably scheduling resources is crucial for the efficient transmission of task data. In this paper, we hope to provide a task execution scheme that maximizes the profit of the networking task for satellite ground network planning considering feeding mode (SGNPFM). To solve the SGNPFM problem, a mixed-integer planning model with the objective of maximizing the gain of the link-building task is constructed, which considers various constraints of the satellite in the feed-switching mode. Based on the problem characteristics, we propose a distance similarity-based genetic optimization algorithm (DSGA), which considers the state characteristics between the tasks and introduces a weighted Euclidean distance method to determine the similarity between the tasks. To obtain more high-quality solutions, different similarity evaluation methods are designed to assist the algorithm in intelligently screening individuals. The DSGAalso uses an adaptive crossover strategy based on similarity mechanism, which guides the algorithm to achieve efficient population search. In addition, a task scheduling algorithm considering the feed-switching mode is designed for decoding the algorithm to generate a highquality scheme. The results of simulation experiments show that the DSGA can effectively solve the SGNPFM problem. Compared to other algorithms, the proposed algorithm not only obtains higher quality planning schemes but also has faster algorithm convergence speed. The proposed algorithm improves data trans

For each smart home, the need of energy consumption supervision is necessary, which plays an important role to ensure the highest power quality and to enhance the stability of the whole grid. The current document implements a smart home supply strategy based on endless resources to reduce the electricity bill and confirm the energy balance. In this context, a proposed supervision algorithm operates in eight cases to reach optimal energy flow between renewable generators, home battery and grid in a smart home concept is presented. The system is evaluated using the framework “Business Process Model and Notation” (BPMN) Camunda basing on information stored in Firebase Cloud and results are presented in order to manifest the efficiency of this control strategy.
