Online social networks have been evolving at a rate much greater than expected. One of the prominent features of social networks is the evolution of communities which can be characterized as a group of people who share a common relationship or tie among themselves. As the penetration of social network is increasing in our lives, so is the interest of researchers in this field. Earlier studies on social network analysis mainly focused on static network structures rather than dynamic processes, however with the passage of time, the networks have also evolved and the researchers have started to focus on the aspect of studying dynamic behavior of networks. The paper discusses the main elements in social network analysis from network perspective to community detection and presents experimental results of analysis of our Facebook network.

With increase in availability of GPS enabled devices, a large amount of GPS data is being collected over time. The mining of this data is likely to help in detection of the locations which face frequent traffic congestion. The prior knowledge of such locations will help the users in deciding whether or not to opt for that route. Avoidance of plying on such routes will also help in reducing the congestion in such locations. However, the authors feel that the work done so far in this field does not give very accurate results. The reason behind this is the inability of the work done so far to distinguish between jams and random short-term stoppages like traffic lights. To incorporate such differentiation in this paper, the authors propose an improvised traffic-jam-detection framework - DTC (Detect Traffic Congestion). This framework can be applied to versatile GPS data i.e. data coming from various kinds of devices like mobile phones, tablets or from vehicles etc. In the technique associated with this framework, these GPS data is first clusterized using the Expectation Maximization Algorithm. The clusters hence obtained are filtered out to acquire on-the-road vehicle data clusters. On further processing these clusters, a final binary output of either Traffic jam or Traffic light is obtained. The output is then fed to a J48 Classification Model to train it and hence make the predictions more accurate. The results obtained in the experiments are then cross-checked with the real-time data giving an accuracy of 86%.

Concept drift is the recent trend of online data. The distribution underlying the data is changing with time. There are many algorithms developed in the literature to handle such drifting data concepts. In our paper we will experimentally compare the three different types of concept drifting algorithms, Weighted Majority, EDDM and DWM on datasets that contain different types of concept drift. Here, we will prove that these algorithms can be quite competitive practically, and can improve the accuracy and speed in handling and identifying drifts in data. We have also discussed the case of DWM and calculated the theoretical bounds for the experts' weight reduction when an expert makes a mistake in classifying a new instance.

As the world shrinks into a global village, software development processes seek cooperation from multiple teams that are spread across the globe and possess their own unique capabilities and skills. Studies indicate that the Collaborative Software Development model has several advantages such as increased productivity and cost efficiency. However, it also poses the challenge of coordination and task assignment between dispersed and heterogeneous teams. In this paper, we propose a Formal Concept Analysis based model for skills oriented mapping between disparate teams and a set of software development tasks within a distributed and collaborative software development environment in a manner that is efficient, economical and fault-tolerant. Concepts extracted in the form of teams exhibiting common skills and software development tasks requiring specific skills are matched by using an extended version of the Stable Marriage Problem. The stable pairs so obtained are subsequently pruned with the objective of either minimizing the cost of allocation or maximizing the continuity of tasks. We also assess the redundancy for each task. Experimental results demonstrate the efficacy of our approach.

The increasing complexity and emergence of Web 2.0 applications have paved way for threats arising out of the use of social networks by cyber extremists (Radical groups). Radicalization (also called cyber extremism and cyber hate propaganda) is a growing concern to the society and also of great pertinence to governments & law enforcement agencies all across the world. Further, the dynamism of these groups adds another level of complexity in the domain, as with time, one may witness a change in members of the group and hence has motivated many researchers towards this field. This proposal presents an investigative data mining approach for detecting the dynamic behavior of these radical groups in online social networks by textual analysis of the messages posted by the members of these groups along with the application of techniques used in social network analysis. Some of the preliminary results obtained through partial implementation of the approach are also discussed.

Simulation of grounded inductance (GI) andFloating inductance (FI) has been an important area ofanalog circuit research since simulated inductors findapplications in a number of analog circuit *** simulation circuits using current conveyors(CCs) and current feedback operational amplifiers (CFOAs)have attracted significant attention in recent literature dueto the commercial availability of a CFOA with externallyaccessible z-pin such as AD 844 which can be used to realizeboth CC-based as well as CFOA-based inductancesimulators practically. In this paper a new configuration forthe simulation of a floating inductance (FI) employing onlytwo CFOAs is presented. The proposed circuit employs acanonical number of passive components and (namely, onlytwo resistors and a capacitor), and realizes a singleresistance- tunable inductance value, does not require anycomponent-matching or cancellation constraints in therealization of the intended type of inductance. To the bestknowledge of the authors, no such CFOA-based FI circuithas been reported in the literature earlier. The proposedcircuit has been tested by its hardware implementation andSPICE simulations based on AD844-typeCFOAs whichconfirm its practical workability. © 2013 IEEE.

There is a great need for evolving electronically-controllable analog signal processing and signal generation circuits suitable for integration in both bipolar and CMOS technology such that their parameters of interest can be adjusted electronically by means of external DC bias currents or voltages. Traditionally, such circuits have been developed through the so-called operational transconductance amplifier-capacitor (OTA-C) or G m -C circuits. In bipolar OTAs, their transconductance is linearly tunable through an external DC bias current whereas in CMOS OTAs/transconductors, electronic tunability usually comes through an external DC bias voltage. With the realization of the translinear current conveyor which is based upon a mixed translinear cell (MTC) and exhibits an input resistance looking into terminal X which is electronically-controllable, there has been a surge of research activities in exploiting this property through the so-called second generation Controlled Current Conveyors (CCCII) in several applications in analog circuit design. The objective of this chapter is to present, in a tutorial review format, significant developments on electronically-controllable analog circuits using CCCIIs as active elements. Too, analog circuit designs using other building blocks of more recent origin, which employ MTC as an input stage and therefore, are closely related to CCCIIs, have also been taken up. In this paper we examine the outage behavior of a coded cooperative system for independent, flat Nakagami-m fading channels. For this generalized form of fading statistics, we derive a closed form solution for outage probability constrained on instantaneous received power. We further find, analytically, the critical cooperation ratio at which total outage probability is minimum.

Artificial Neural Networks has number of applications in the various fields like filtering, pattern recognition, function approximation and control problems. Number of non-linear transformation problems can be solved using these fields. Randomizing the various parameters is a common paradigm like random initialization of weights to zero and generating weights randomly. To minimize the error the first order or second order derivatives are used. The training of the neural network is done so that the error is minimized. In this paper the artificial neural network parameter weights are initialized to zero and are generated randomly during the training of the network. Then the error obtained is compared when there is no change in the back-propagation algorithm and when changes are done with weights zero and random both. The results indicate that it is feasible to perform training by initializing the weights to zero also though the results are higher approximately by a factor of two or three from the results obtained when the weights are generated randomly and learning rates made Gaussian.

In this paper we analyze the outage behavior of a dual hop cooperative system where the relay is equipped with full duplex relaying (FDR) capabilities that means a relay can simultaneously receive and transmit unlike half duplex relaying (HDR), where the relay cannot receive and transmit simultaneously. We consider, in this analysis, that the reception at destination via any channel other than source-relay-destination is an interference. The interference between the receiving and transmitting antennas at the relay is also taken into account. At relay, the signal received from source is first decoded and then forwarded to *** derive the closed form expressions for outage probability considering flat, non-identical and independent Nakagami-m fading channels for both FDR and HDR. The comparison of outage performances reveals that FDR stands better than HDR for lower values of signal-to-noise ratio(SNR).
