In the current literature, the measurements on deployed and operational Fifth-Generation (5G) networks are still lacking. This study offers a dataset of New Radio (NR) signal measurements made using the RPTU Kaiserslautern's private campus 5G network as well as other public 5G networks to close this gap. The dataset includes measurements of signal strengths such as Synchronization Signal Reference Signal Received Power (SS-RSRP) and Synchronization Signal Signal-to-Interference-plus-Noise ratio (SS-SINR) of serving cells, as well as signal strengths of the neighboring public 5G Standalone (SA) and Non-Standalone (NSA) networks, i.e., within the perimeter of the campus. The measurements described here are taken at various indoor and outdoor locations using the Rohde & Schwarz's (R&S) TSME6 and TSMA6 scanners. The primary goal of the dataset is to allow researchers to reuse data from the 5G SA live network in understanding the radio access network (RAN) and Physical Layer characteristics of the network and use them for machine learning purposes to optimize the network. In addition to this data, several areas where the data can be used for learning and optimization tasks in the network are provided. © 2023 Mobilkommunikation: Technologien und Anwendungen - 27. The industry has developed a form factor known as the Compression Attached Memory Module (CAMM) to address the limitations of SO-DIMMs in terms of size, speed, and scalability. This paper proposes a method to minimize performance degradation caused by the absence of an efficient ECC solution in CAMM systems composed of LPDDR. The IN-channel Crossing (INC) method we propose enhances the efficiency of LPCAMM by reducing performance degradation through the segregation of data and ECC modules within the same channel. © 2024 IEEE.

Deep neural networks (DNNs) have been the driving force behind many of the recent advances in machine learning. However, research has shown that DNNs are vulnerable to adversarial examples - input samples that have been perturbed to force DNN-based models to make errors. As a result, adversarial machine learning (AdvML) has gained a lot of attention, and researchers have investigated these vulnerabilities in various settings and modalities. In addition, DNNs have also been found to incorporate embedded bias and often produce unexplainable predictions, which can result in antisocial AI applications. The emergence of new AI technologies that leverage large language models (LLMs), such as ChatGPT and GPT-4, increases the risk of producing antisocial applications at scale. AdvML for social good (AdvML4G) is an emerging field that repurposes the AdvML bug to invent prosocial applications. Regulators, practitioners, and researchers should collaborate to encourage the development of prosocial applications and hinder the development of antisocial ones. In this work, we provide the first comprehensive review of the emerging field of AdvML4G. This paper encompasses a taxonomy that highlights the emergence of AdvML4G, a discussion of the differences and similarities between AdvML4G and AdvML, a taxonomy covering social good-related concepts and aspects, an exploration of the motivations behind the emergence of AdvML4G at the intersection of ML4G and AdvML, and an extensive summary of the works that utilize AdvML4G as an auxiliary tool for innovating prosocial applications. Finally, we elaborate upon various challenges and open research issues that require significant attention from the research community. © 2020 IEEE.

A multi-trace surface integral equation (MT-SIE) solver is proposed to analyze electromagnetic field interactions on graphene-based devices. This solver decomposes the computation domain into an exterior subdomain (the background medium where the device resides in) and an interior subdomain that represents the device's dielectric substrate. The infinitesimally thin graphene sheet partially covers the interface between these two subdomains. On the graphene surface and the rest of this interface, resistive Robin transmission conditions (formulated for the first time in this work) and the traditional Robin transmission conditions are used to "connect"these two subdomains, respectively. In each subdomain, the electric and magnetic field equations are used as the governing equations. Various numerical examples are presented to demonstrate the accuracy and the applicability of the proposed MT-SIE solver. © 2022 IEEE.

Efficient job scheduling and resource management contributes towards system throughput and efficiency maximization in high-performance computing (HPC) systems. In this paper, we introduce a scalable job scheduling and resource management component within the structural simulation toolkit (SST), a cycle-accurate and parallel discrete-event simulator. Our proposed simulator includes state-of-the-art job scheduling algorithms and resource management techniques. Additionally, it introduces a workflow management components that supports the simulation of task dependencies and resource allocations, crucial for workflows typical in scientific computing and data-intensive applications. We present validation and scalability results of our job scheduling simulator. Simulation shows that our simulator achieves good accuracy in various metrics (e.g., job wait times, number of nodes usage) and also achieves good parallel performance. © 2024 IEEE.

Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA) aims to reduce food insecurity, boost rural economies, and protect the environment. CSA programs sometimes ignore small-scale farmers' demands, who face higher challenges. This research introduces Vulnerable-Smart Agriculture (VSA) to address small-scale farmers' needs and create a sustainable farming framework. The recommended method involves preprocessing, feature selection, and model training. Data cleansing, normalization, and correlation analysis are preprocessing steps. MRMR and CFS are used to select features. The CBGRU architecture trains the model. The CBGRU model outperforms CNN and BiGRU with an average accuracy of 93.60%. High accuracy shows that the VSA strategy meets small-scale farmers' needs through data-driven insights. VSA can cover the CSA gap by including small-scale farmers, according to this research. Strong preprocessing, feature selection, and CBGRU-based model training can boost agricultural production, sustainability, and rural lives. © 2024 IEEE.

Diffraction-free propagation and self-healing characteristics [1] of Bessel beams have generated significant interest in the scientific community. Zeroth-order Bessel beams (ZOBBs) have maximum intensity at the center and found many applications, including bio-imaging material processing, optical trapping, bio-imaging, and quantum communication. On the other hand, higher-order (vortex) Bessel beams (HOBBs) present a helical wavefront, so they have a node due to a phase singularity and carry orbital angular momentum (OAM). Over the past years, Bessel beams have been generated by using different approaches - which could be different for ZOBBs and HOBBs - namely by Fourier transforming a narrow circular beam with a lens, by using axicons or with holographic beam shaping techniques. © 2023 IEEE.

We introduce a novel differentially private algorithm for online federated learning that employs temporally correlated noise to enhance utility while ensuring privacy of continuously released models. To address challenges posed by DP noise and local updates with streaming non-iid data, we develop a perturbed iterate analysis to control the impact of the DP noise on the utility. Moreover, we demonstrate how the drift errors from local updates can be effectively managed under a quasi-strong convexity condition. Subject to an (, δ) DP budget, we establish a dynamic regret bound over the entire time horizon, quantifying the impact of key parameters and the intensity of changes in dynamic environments. Numerical experiments confirm the efficacy of the proposed algorithm. © 2024 IEEE.

In realistic distributed optimization scenarios, individual nodes possess only partial information and communicate over bandwidth constrained channels. For this reason, the development of efficient distributed algorithms is essential. In our paper we addresses the challenge of unconstrained distributed optimization. In our scenario each node's local function exhibits strong convexity with Lipschitz continuous gradients. The exchange of information between nodes occurs through 3-bit bandwidth-limited channels (i.e., nodes exchange messages represented by a only 3 -bits). Our proposed algorithm respects the network's bandwidth constraints by leveraging zoom-in and zoom-out operations to adjust quantizer parameters dynamically. We show that during our algorithm's operation nodes are able to converge to the exact optimal solution. Furthermore, we show that our algorithm achieves a linear convergence rate to the optimal solution. We conclude the paper with simulations that highlight our algorithm's unique characteristics. © 2024 IEEE.
