In the paper a new grid (potentially linear, nonlinear and even semi-Markovian jump system) was presented. All transition and measurement functions were proposed. Moreover, the transition functions of two types were considered - dependent on one and many different state variables. Also 10 types of measurements were proposed for both nodal and branch cases. Based on the obtained results one can see, which measurement functions are "easy", and which are "hard" for state estimation task.

This paper presents measurements of the concentrations of particulate matter (PM1, PM2.5, and PM10), carbon dioxide (CO 2 ), total organic compounds (TVOCs), and formaldehyde as pollutants released during fuel combustion. For this purpose, a suitable measuring device containing selective electrochemical sensors was prepared. The influence of fuel type and engine speed on the amount of pollutants released into the environment, was studied. Based on the achieved results, it can be concluded that the factor influencing the amount of pollutants released is mainly the type of fuel. Gasoline-powered cars can pollute the environment in a particularly negative way. A relationship was also noted between the increase in engine speed and the concentration of released carcinogenic formaldehyde.

This article presents the application possibilities of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for the rapid and efficient determination of carbonyl compounds: formaldehyde and acetaldehyde concentrations in gaseous environmental samples. One of the described methods is the use of special electrochemical sensors (PMS5003 and SEN0231) to measure air pollution in real time (every 10 seconds). The second method involves adsorbing gas samples into sorption tubes with XAD-2 cartridges and uses chromatographic analysis: gas chromatography coupled with a selective electron capture detector (GC-ECD). The proposed analytical technique allows the determination of carbonyl compounds at low concentration levels (μg/m 3 ) using pre-derivatization of samples with the reagent 2,3,4,5,6-pentafluorobenzyl-hydroxylamine (PFBOA). Comparing the results obtained from electrochemical sensors and chromatographic analysis, we can conclude that there are discrepancies between the determined concentrations of formaldehyde in the analyzed gas samples.

Measurement data produced with the PMS5003 electrochemical sensor, allegedly selective for formaldehyde, were analyzed. The amounts of formaldehyde released from heated standard solutions were measured. At the same time, samples were sorbed into sorption tubes with an XAD-2 cartridge, which enabled chromatographic analysis – gas chromatography coupled with an electron capture detector (GC-ECD). A susceptibility of the PMS5003 sensor to cross-sensitivity associated with the presence of other low-molecular-weight carbonyl compounds, such as acetaldehyde and acetone in the sample, was also tested. The conducted research clearly indicates poor selectivity/accuracy of the PMS5003 sensor in relation to formaldehyde and its sensitivity to the presence of other carbonyl compounds in the sample, with a structure similar to formaldehyde.

The paper presents project and its verification of a prototype integrated circuit containing an analog, programmable finite impulse response (FIR) filter, implemented in CMOS 350 nm technology. The structure of the filter is based on the switched capacitor technique. In circuits of this type, one of main challenges is an efficient implementation of filter coefficients, which result from several factors described in this work. When implementing such filters as programmable circuits, the values of their coefficients have to be limited to a selected range, i.e. a given resolution in bits. In the implemented prototype filter, the filter coefficients are represented by 6 bits in sign-magnitude notation, so they can take 63 different values only. In such filters, it is not possible to directly implement any frequency response of the filter. Each time, it is necessary to properly round the theoretical values of the coefficients so that they fit into the available range of discrete values resulting from the implementation. The authors of the work designed an algorithm that allows such matching. The paper also presents results of measurements of the prototype chip.

The paper analyzes the preparation of software for acoustic signal classification with machine learning techniques for microcontrollers. The design process was tested for three types of devices: Nordic Thingy:53, *** and Arduino Nano 33 BLE Sense Lite. The classifier training process was carried out using the Edge Impulse platform. Experimental studies were carried out for the process of classifying sound signals generated by the vacuum cleaner motor. The results of the training and the model test were presented for different configurations.

This work presents some aspects concentrated on improving quality of the voice input signal for automatic speech recognition (ASR) systems. It is clear that proper separation of the desired voice from disturbances improves the recognition performance. We have tested the independent component analysis (ICA) infomax algorithm applied to the separation of isolated words. Detection of Polish words (commands used for the remote voice control of a robot) was tested using the dynamic time warping (DTW) approach.

The paper presents a family of novel light blob shape descriptors for use in selected active safety algorithms used in Advanced Driver Assistance systems (ADAS). One of the motivations was to obtain a descriptor that would ensure low computational complexity. This makes it easy to implement both in software and hardware. One assumption is that the location of the center of a given light spot is approximately known. The principle of its operation is then to count white pixels in selected directions, starting from this central point. A key issue here is an efficient way of determining indexes of particular pixels belonging to the image patch, as well as the location of points representing places where the white area turns into black. In the case of a hardware implementation, this can be done using a parallel circuit operating in asynchronous mode, without the need for a control clock. © 2023 IEEE.

The paper discusses issues related to the possibility of using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) as an alternative to stationary analyses in the assessment of environmental quality, with particular emphasis on air pollutants such as particulate matter (PM), volatile organic compounds (VOCs), formaldehyde and SO 2 . In the course of the study, a simple mobile and automated measuring equipment was developed, with a miniaturized and lightweight design, which made it possible to place it on board of an unmanned aircraft. The applied solutions, including electrochemical sensors, allow to measure concentrations of specific substances or aspiration of samples from selected places for further analyses in a stationary laboratory. Thanks to communication with web server, the results can be collected online. Unlike stationary measurement methods, the mobility of unmanned aerial vehicles allows to obtain a larger number of measurement points from a larger area, which in turn allows to map zones particularly exposed to emissions and to assess the existing hazards on an ongoing basis.

The article presents studies on the estimation quality of a particle filter applied to small multidimensional objects. For the purposes of the article, a new type of network has been proposed, in which each node is associated with one state variable. Based on performed simulations it has been found that particle filter implemented for small systems (1- or 2-dimensional) is a good choice. However, for larger objects Kalman filter may return better results (it depends on the chosen particles number). This is due to the exponential dependence of needed particles number to the object dimension. It has been also observed that the particle filter, in comparison to the Extended Kalman filter, better estimates the state variables which are well metered, and simultaneously worse estimates the state variables which are worse metered. Possible approaches for objects with a greater number of state variables also have been adduced, including the dispersed particle filter.
