The advent of 6G-enabled Internet of Everything(IoE) technologies is set to revolutionize urban infrastructures by providing fast, consistent, and low-delay capabilities for communication. 6G connectivity will integrate traffic and power grids for adaptive urban management. However, current traffic networks and power grids face critical challenges such as fragmented data processing, delayed responses, and outdated resource management leading to inefficiencies like traffic congestion and power outages. In 6G-enabled smart grid cities, system complexity and interdependence demand dynamic, real-time solutions, further exacerbating inefficiencies. To address these issues, this study introduces Digital Twin-enabled Real-time Optimization System (DT-ROS), a dynamic framework designed to optimize urban traffic and power grid systems. DT-ROS integrates a dual-tier Digital Twin (DT) and an advanced scheduling framework based on Priority Age of Information Deep Q Scheduler (PAoI-QS). The dual-tier framework builds an elementary and Integrated Digital Twin (IDT) with Auto-Regressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA)-based forecasting for accurate real-time traffic and energy demand predictions. The advanced scheduling framework minimizes the Age of Information (AoI), ensuring decision-making relies on the most current and relevant data. By continuously monitoring and processing real-time data, DT-ROS creates virtual models to simulate system behavior and dynamically allocate resources. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of DT-ROS, achieving a 30% reduction in traffic congestion and a 25% improvement in power grid stability compared to existing methods. To create effective, robust, and sustainable urban systems for future smart cities, DT-ROS addresses traffic and electricity problems. © 2014 IEEE.

Video-on-demand (VOD) service allows users to select and watch video and clip content over a network as part of an interactive television system. VOD services either "stream" content, allowing viewing in real time, or "download" it in which the program is brought in its entirety to a set-top box (STB) before viewing starts. In order to reduce the viewer's waiting time for a large number of requests, an efficient NVoD approach for hot video is a broadcasting method that can theoretically serve an unlimited number of clients simultaneously within a bounded user delay by keeping the number of channels independent of the number of clients. However, previous proposed broadcasting architectures are required to manage a number of segments for a video, frequency of channel hopping and usage of many channels at the same time. To solve these problems, this paper proposes the reverse fast staggered broadcasting (RFSB) method. The RFBS substantially reduces complexity of VoD system and high bandwidth efficiency both viewer's waiting time and client s buffer requirement.

Quantum computing is at the forefront of technological advancement and has the potential to revolutionize various fields, including quantum chemistry. Choosing an appropriate quantum programming language becomes critical as quantum education and research increase. In this paper, we comprehensively compare two leading quantum programming languages, Qiskit and PennyLane, focusing on their suitability for teaching and research. We delve into their basic and advanced usage, examine their learning curves, and evaluate their capabilities in quantum computing experiments. We also demonstrate using a quantum programming language to build a half adder and a machine learning model. Our study reveals that each language has distinct advantages. While PennyLane excels in research applications due to its flexibility to adjust parameters in detail and access multiple sources of real quantum devices, Qiskit stands out in education because of its web-based graphical user interface and smaller code size. The feasibility of InP-based planar heteroepitaxial diodes for terahertz multiplier and mixer applications is explored. A variety of InxAl1-x As/In0.53Ga0.47As (x = 0.52, 0.4) diodes have been grown using LP-MOVPE and allows systematic characterization of the effects of barrier thickness, InAs mole fraction and active layer thickness on the diode DC and RF performance. A new fabrication technology is developed for planar diodes using dielectric-free air-bridged anode fingers and trench isolation to minimize series resistance and parasitic capacitance. A qualitative model is suggested to explain the forward current conduction mechanism of the reported diodes. The control of forward current conduction and reverse leakage by epitaxial design together with the demonstrated figure-of-merit cutoff frequency of 2.6 THz make the diodes suitable for multiplier and mixer terahertz applications.

The integration of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) intouniversity-level academic writing presents both opportunities and challenges,particularly in relation to cognitive dissonance (CD). This work explores howGenAI serves as both a trigger and amplifier of CD, as students navigateethical concerns, academic integrity, and self-efficacy in their writingpractices. By synthesizing empirical evidence and theoretical insights, weintroduce a hypothetical construct of GenAI-induced CD, illustrating thepsychological tension between AI-driven efficiency and the principles oforiginality, effort, and intellectual ownership. We further discuss strategiesto mitigate this dissonance, including reflective pedagogy, AI literacyprograms, transparency in GenAI use, and discipline-specific task *** approaches reinforce critical engagement with AI, fostering a balancedperspective that integrates technological advancements while safeguarding humancreativity and learning. In patch-and-stitch localization algorithms, a flip-error refers to the kind of error in which a patch is stitched to the map as being wrongly reflected. In this paper, we present an anchor-free localization algorithm which tries to detect and prevent flip errors. The flip error prevention is achieved by two filtering mechanisms: the flip-ambiguity test and the flip-conflict detection. We evaluate the performances of proposed techniques though simulations and show that they achieve significant performance improvements. © 2008 IEEE.

To date, no flexible silicon solar cell capable of directly converting visible light into electrical current has been developed for use in retinal prosthetic devices. In this study, we successfully fabricated silicon solar cells into small, pixelated structures and demonstrated their potential for retinal prostheses. To minimize surgical incisions during implantation and enhance device stability on the retina, we incorporated a flexible polymer substrate. Our results underscore the promise of silicon solar cells in biomedical engineering, especially for retinal prosthesis applications

In this study,resistive random-access memory(RRAM)-based crossbar arrays with a memristor W/TiO_(2)/HfO_(2)/TaN structure were fabricated through atomic layer deposition(ALD)to investigate synaptic plasticity and resistive switching(RS)characteristics for bioinspired neuromorphic computing.X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)was employed to explore oxygen vacancy concentrations in bilayer TiO_(2)/HfO_(2)*** fitting for O1s peaks confirmed that the HfO_(2)layer contained a larger number of oxygen vacancies than the TiO_(2)*** addition,HfO_(2)had lower Gibbs free energy(ΔG°=-1010.8 kJ/mol)than the TiO_(2)layer(ΔG°=-924.0 kJ/mol),resulting in more oxygen vacancies in the HfO_(2)*** results andΔG°magnitudes confirmed that formation/disruption of oxygen-based conductive filaments took place in the TiO_(2)*** W/TiO_(2)/HfO_(2)/TaN memristive device exhibited excellent and repeatable RS characteristics,including superb 10^(3) dc switching cycles,outstanding 107 pulse endurance,and high-thermal stability(10^(4) s at 125℃)important for digital computing ***,some essential biological synaptic characteristics such as potentiation-depression plasticity,paired-pulse facilitation(PPF),and spike-timing-dependent plasticity(STDP,asymmetric Hebbian and asymmetric anti-Hebbian)were successfully mimicked herein using the crossbar-array memristive *** on experimental results,a migration and diffusion of oxygen vacancy based physical model is proposed to describe the synaptic plasticity and RS *** study demonstrates that the proposed W/TiO_(2)/HfO_(2)/TaN memristor crossbar-array has a significant potential for applications in non-volatile memory(NVM)and bioinspired neuromorphic systems.

Moving Personal-Cell Network: Characteristics and Performance Evaluation

Recent years have witnessed a huge demand for ubiquitous communications services from continuously moving users. In order to provide seamless network services to high-mobility users, one of the promising solution proposed by 3 GPP is the deployment of moving-relays. In this article, we introduce the concept of Moving-Personal-Cell(mPC), which is a type of moving-relays. mPC is a user-centric network, which aims to provide reliable network services to moving users. A mPC receives data-traffic from eNB and its neighboring mPCs via wireless backhaul and sidehual links respectively and forwards the received data to its serving users. In addition to this, mPC can also increase the network capacity by caching and distributing the popular contents to its serving users. Besides these pros, the mPC also has some limitations, as its performance is highly affected by cross-tier and co-tier interferences. In this article, we analyze the effect of these interferences on mPCs performance. Our results show that the performance of mPC network is equally affected by the capacity of wireless backhaul, sidehaul, and access links. Moreover, since mPCs accommodate data traffic from wireless backhaul, sidehaul links, and content cache, their performance is also affected by the ratio of data-traffic delivered via these links.

Generalized Norm Optimal Iterative Learning Control with Intermediate Point and Sub-interval Tracking

Norm optimal iterative learning control(NOILC) has recently been applied to iterative learning control(ILC) problems in which tracking is only required at a subset of isolated time points along the trial duration. This problem addresses the practical needs of many applications, including industrial automation, crane control, satellite positioning and motion control within a medical stroke rehabilitation context. This paper provides a substantial generalization of this framework by providing a solution to the problem of convergence at intermediate points with simultaneous tracking of subsets of outputs to reference trajectories on subintervals. This formulation enables the NOILC paradigm to tackle tasks which mix "point to point" movements with linear tracking requirements and hence substantially broadens the application domain to include automation tasks which include welding or cutting movements, or human motion control where the movement is restricted by the task to straight line and/or planar segments. A solution to the problem is presented in the framework of NOILC and inherits NOILC s well-defined convergence properties. Design guidelines and supporting experimental results are included.
