Children with chronic pediatric disorders are at increased risk for cognitive and psychosocial problems, but screening and monitoring for them is challenged by access to care and availability of sensitive psychosocial measures. We have developed a mobile health application (mHealth app) with tasks and surveys that target areas of functioning that are commonly at risk in children across medical disorders including attention, processing speed, socialization, anxiety, and depression. The design and implementation of this mHealth solution addresses several technical challenges in providing a usable platform for patients, parents and care providers. The end product is a point-of-care instrument that can quickly, easily, and reliably identify children that require additional assessment and/or intervention for the cognitive and psychosocial symptoms that they are at risk for, and rigorously quantify the diagnostic efficiency of mobile technology compared to standard clinical evaluation.

This article's main contributions are twofold: 1) to demonstrate how to apply the general European Union's High-Level Expert Group's (EU HLEG) guidelines for trustworthy AI in practice for the domain of healthcare and 2) to investigate the research question of what does 'trustworthy AI' mean at the time of the COVID-19 pandemic. To this end, we present the results of a post-hoc self-assessment to evaluate the trustworthiness of an AI system for predicting a multiregional score conveying the degree of lung compromise in COVID-19 patients, developed and verified by an interdisciplinary team with members from academia, public hospitals, and industry in time of pandemic. The AI system aims to help radiologists to estimate and communicate the severity of damage in a patient's lung from Chest X-rays. It has been experimentally deployed in the radiology department of the ASST Spedali Civili clinic in Brescia, Italy, since December 2020 during pandemic time. The methodology we have applied for our post-hoc assessment, called Z-Inspection®, uses sociotechnical scenarios to identify ethical, technical, and domain-specific issues in the use of the AI system in the context of the pandemic. © 2020 IEEE.

This paper describes our participation in Social Detection Task@ MediaEval 2013, which involves the detection of social events with associated images in collaboratively annotated by online users. Two tasks are pursued: (i) cluster all images into events in a way that they belong together;(ii) classify the images based on event type. For this we have developed a framework for semantically structuring the social image collection. For Task 1 and Task2, we achieved an overall F1 main score 0.1426 and 0.4409 respectively.

This paper describes our participation in the Placing Task at MediaEval 2013. The goal of the task is to predict the geographical coordinates of a set of images using already geo-tagged user annotated ones. Our approach to solve this problem relies purely on textual metadata present in the geo-tagged images to place images. We used a frequency based filter followed by a tag spread measure as our feature selection technique. The approach produced 26% accuracy within a 500km radius.

In a world filled with heightened vandalism and terrorist activities, video surveillance forms an integral part of any incident investigation. While aiming to provide safety and security for the citizens, CCTV cameras are exponentially deployed around metropolitan cities. However, the information thus collected and further processed should comply with the legal and ethical rules defined by the law. The primary ethical issue invoked by surveillance activities in general is that of privacy. In order to ensure that a surveillance system framework complies with the legal, ethical and privacy requirements of the law, in this paper we present a Surveillance Ontology extending the SKOS foundational ontology. The objective of this ontology is to translate the high-level linguistic rules into the information that can be processed and used to assess the compliance of the video analysis module with the rules defined.

Network coding is able to address output conflicts when fanout splitting is allowed for multicast ***,it successfully achieves a larger rate region than non-coding approaches in crossbar ***,network coding requires large coding buffers and a high computational cost on encoding and *** this paper,we propose a novel Online Network Coding framework called Online NC for multicast switches,which is adaptive to constrained ***,it enjoys a much lower decoding complexity by a Vandermonde matrix based approach,as compared to conven-tional randomized network coding Our approach realizes online coding with one coding algo-rithm that synchronizes buffering and ***,we significantly reduce requirements on buffer space,while also sustaining high *** confirm the superior advantages of our contributions using empirical studies.
