For various applications, information models described in standards are available to enable a digital data exchange. For modular process plants, where different domains are interacting in different phases of the plant lifecycle, single, existing standards are not *** this work, we analyze the most relevant standards for processengineering, namely OntoCAPE, DEXPI, and IEC 61512, in regards to their application to support the lifecycle of modular process plants, which are described in the VDI 2776 and VDI/VDE/NAMUR 2658 standards. By challenging the standards with competency questions derived from a specific use case, we discuss which information models are most suitable for all individual domains in each lifecycle phase. The result is the specification of parts of these standards which are needed to create a fully digital support for modular process plants on the example of the introduced use case.

The adsorption of protein molecules to oil/water(O/W)interface is of critical importance for the product design in a wide range of technologies and industries such as biotechnology,food industry and pharmaceutical *** this work,with ovalbumin(OVA)as the model protein,the adsorption conformations at the O/W interface and the adsorption stability have been systematically studied via multiple simulation methods,including all-atom molecular dynamic(AAMD)simulations,coarse-grained molecular dynamic(CGMD)simulations and enhanced sampling *** computational results of AAMD and CGMD show that the hydrophobic tail of OVA tends to be folded under long time relaxation in aqueous phase,and multiple adsorption conformations can exist at the interface due to heterogeneous interactions raising from oil and water *** further study the adsorption sites of the protein,the adsorption kinetics of OVA at the O/W interface is simulated using metadynamics method combined with CGMD simulations,and the result suggests the existence of multiple adsorption conformations of OVA at interface with the head-on conformation as the most stable *** all,this work focuses on the adsorption behaviors of OVA at squalene/water interface,and provides a theoretical basis for further functionalization of the proteins in emulsion-based products and engineering.

This paper introduces a novel data-driven economic model predictive control (EMPC) framework for linear time-invariant (LTI) systems, using Willems’ Fundamental Lemma to describe system behavior with persistently exciting data. Our method incorporates terminal ingredients, including a terminal cost and terminal constraint, to ensure recursive feasibility and asymptotic stability. We detail the design procedure for these terminal ingredients within the data-driven EMPC context. The paper concludes by confirming the strong duality property, feasibility and stability of the economically optimal equilibrium in the closed-loop system. The proposed EMPC framework is validated through its application to an isothermal stirred-tank reactor (CSTR), demonstrating its effectiveness.

This paper focuses on the optimization of crude oil operations scheduling in a refinery that is supplied with crude oil by ship. One of the main challenges associated with the crude oil operations scheduling problem is the management of crude storage in tanks. Since storage capacity is limited and there are several types of crude oil depending on their composition, it is necessary to store mixtures of crude oil in tanks. This feature makes necessary the inclusion of nonlinear, non-convex constraints, which complicates the resolution of mathematical programming models. To address this problem, we have developed a mathematical programming model based on a continuous-time formulation using time slots, along with a strategy based on piecewise McCormick relaxation that allows us to efficiently handle the nonlinear constraints generated by blending crude oils in tanks.

The scale up of hydrogen production to large scale production systems demands a structured approach to control these systems. With suitable control principles, optimization for operation can be achieved whilst maintaining flexibility. In this paper, existing control strategies are analyzed and compared for large scale electrolysis systems. It is argued, how modularization can enable the optimal distribution of set-points and enables the systems for capacity extension. An initial implementation in MATLAB is presented, showing the feasibility of the proposed power distribution concept.
