System logs contain valuable information and they have emerged as one of the most crucial data sources for system monitoring aimed at enhancing service quality. IT support teams and system administrators are in dire need of an intelligent log-based QA system to help them quickly identify, diagnose, and resolve issues. In this paper, we propose a novel method for constructing log-based question-answering (QA) data using large language models, addressing challenges associated with limited dataset size and diversity in existing log-based QA systems. Our pipeline consists of three steps: generating questions, answering log questions, and refining question-answer pairs. The purpose of the generating questions is to create a diverse set of log-related queries that cover a wide range of potential issues. The second step, answering log questions, aims to extract relevant information from the logs to address the generated questions. This step ensures accurate and context-aware responses. Refining question-answer pairs is intended to improve the overall quality and consistency of the generated log-based QA data. We present a case study using ChatGPT to generate a new dataset, LogQuAD, containing over 28,000 question-answer pairs derived from more than 31,000 raw logs, representing a significant increase compared to existing datasets like LogQA. In our experimental setting, we sample half of the data as the training set and use memory-effect fine-tuning to fine-tune the model, named Gloss. Experimental results show that our method can generate high-quality log-based QA data, leading to improved performance of log-based QA models. Notably, our fine-tuned 7B model outperforms the LLaMA-65B model. This approach can potentially save valuable time for IT support teams and system administrators, enabling proactive problem resolution and optimal system performance. © 2024 IEEE.

The aim of this paper is to address the challenge of gradual domain adaptation within a class of manifold-constrained data distributions. In particular, we consider a sequence of T ≥ 2 data distributions P1, ..., PT undergoing a gradual shift, where each pair of consecutive measures Pi, Pi+1 are close to each other in Wasserstein distance. We have a supervised dataset of size n sampled from P0, while for the subsequent distributions in the sequence, only unlabeled i.i.d. samples are available. Moreover, we assume that all distributions exhibit a known favorable attribute, such as (but not limited to) having intra-class soft/hard margins. In this context, we propose a methodology rooted in Distributionally Robust Optimization (DRO) with an adaptive Wasserstein radius. We theoretically show that this method guarantees the classification error across all Pis can be suitably bounded. Our bounds rely on a newly introduced compatibility measure, which fully characterizes the error propagation dynamics along the sequence. Specifically, for inadequately constrained distributions, the error can exponentially escalate as we progress through the gradual shifts. Conversely, for appropriately constrained distributions, the error can be demonstrated to be linear or even entirely eradicated. We have substantiated our theoretical findings through several experimental results. © 2024 Neural information processing systems foundation. All rights reserved.

With the development of artificial intelligence, autonomous driving technology is becoming a promising solution for reducing the number of accidents caused by human factors of drivers. Motion planning of vehicle obstacle avoidance is a key part of autonomous driving technology, re-planning the driving path or trajectory based on real-time traffic information. How to ensure the safety of autonomous vehicles (AVs) within limited computing resource is one of the research difficulties. In this paper, a vehicle motion planning algorithm in the hierarchical quantum reinforcement learning (HQRL) framework that combines quantum reinforcement learning (QRL) and hierarchical reinforcement learning (HRL) is proposed. In the option-critic framework of HRL, the QRL agent is applied to make choice in different options. The experimental results showcase our algorithm has better performance on safety average scores compared to classical HRL in the case of less number of model parameters. Therefore, this paper shows the potential of HQRL on solving vehicle motion planing safety problems. © 2023 IEEE.

Speech Emotion Recognition (SER) is a field of research and technology that focuses on the automatic detection and classification of emotional states conveyed through speech. SER has a wide range of applications, including customer service, healthcare, entertainment, market research, and so on. Also, it has the potential to enhance human-computer interaction and improve the understanding of human emotional behavior. So far the studies mostly focus on traditional machine learning algorithms and deep learning architectures for the purpose of detection of the speech emotion while this work takes one step forward using the cutting edge technology called as transformers. To show the effectiveness of the transformer models Hidden-Unit BERT, Squeezed and Efficient Wav2Vec, Multi-lingual Concatenated transformer, and Audio Spectogram transformer models are employed to recognize the speech emotion on publicy available and used datasets namely, EMO-DB, RAVDESS, and TESS. Experiment result demonstrate that Audio Spectogram transformer model exhibits remarkable classification results specifically, 75.42% of accuracy for EMO-DB, 88.17% of accuracy for RAVDESS, and 98.17% of accuracy for TESS datasets. © 2023 IEEE.

Pairing operation is the basis of most protocols of advanced functional cryptography. Major problems of pairing operation are that it has high computation cost and that elliptic curve parameters have not yet been standardized. This paper aims at helping to solve these problems by providing a design automation platform for pairing hardware accelerators and comparing its hardware cost for multiple curves. We proposed an architecture template for pairing processors and demonstrated synthesized results. © 2023 IEEE.

Honing is a finishing process used for the inner cylindrical surfaces of engine blocks or liners. The process involves abrasive particles bonded to the surface of a honing head, which come into contact with the inner bore surface, performing an oscillating and rotational motion. These motions follow a specific pattern, allowing for the creation of crosshatch patterns on the inner bore surface, thereby improving dimensional accuracy, form accuracy and reducing surface roughness. Common honing processes are divided into four distinct phases: material removal, crosshatching, finish honing, and plateau honing. Each phase corresponds to specific tasks such as material removal from the bore, creating crosshatch patterns, honing the peaks in the crosshatch, and final surface finishing. In computer numerical control (CNC)-based honing machine, individual control commands are typically used to manage each of these phases separately. The commands are combined according to process requirements to achieve the desired honing results. To enhance the efficiency of the honing process, this study focuses on the hydraulic feed of the abrasive strips on the honing head, specifically examining the automatic continuous switching between finish honing and plateau honing. The research analyzes the honing principles, develops a control algorithm for dual-process automatic switching, and validates the process through machining tests. Compared to single-process control, the proposed algorithm significantly improves processing efficiency. Additionally, this algorithm can be applied to other dual-process automatic switching controls, providing valuable insights for the design of CNC honing systems. © 2024 Institute of Physics Publishing. Convolution Neural Networks (CNN) excelled humans in many classification tasks, including medical imaging applications. However, model interpretation is still an active research area. In this paper, we address the model interpretation problem for the Diabetic Retinopathy grading task. We propose a novel visualization method called StackMaps. Our proposed method is class-agnostic, which fits the diabetic retinopathy grading problem better than other alternatives. Moreover, unlike previous visualization methods, StackMaps gets rid of the dependency on gradients. Our StackMaps technique gets the most significant feature maps at the last convolutional layer after one forward pass. We can also get the significant feature maps from lower layers using beam search guided by the feature maps obtained from the previous layer. Finally, we compute the final map as the sum of the significant feature maps obtained at each layer. We evaluate StackMaps against other state-of-the-art visualization methods qualitatively and quantitatively. We used the FGADR dataset to define our experimental setup. We show that StackMaps achieves better visual interpretation and lesion localization. © 2023 IEEE.

In the case of cybernics treatment, the wearer performs voluntary movements, in which the neuromuscular and central nervous systems work to produce the intended movement of the integrated wearable cyborg and the wearer's body. In this way, the interactive Bio-Feedback (iBF) loop is established between the wearer and wearable cyborgs. Using wearable cyborg, motor function can be improvement. Cybernics treatment has been covered by medical insurance in Japan after a randomized controlled trial clinical evaluation. The cybernic mirror system is a wearable cyborg that performs intended bimanual symmetrical movements based on motor commands from the unaffected side. The cybernic mirror system has the potential to develop a new cybernics treatment specifically focused on improving finger functionality. The purpose of this study is to develop a cybernic mirror system for intention of bimanual symmetrical movements by transferring the hand motion of the unaffected hand to the affected hand and to confirm the feasibility of assisting finger motion by the developed system through basic experiments. The cybernic mirror system consisted of a hand motion assist unit and a hand motion control unit. The unaffected hand's skeletal information was obtained by the hand motion control unit using the camera. The hand motion assist unit, using a tendon-driven structure, achieved motion assist for flexion and extension of the affected hand. At the basic experiments with three participants, the developed system performs within the acceptable delay time between both finger sides. In addition, the developed system enabled the performance of bimanual symmetrical movements for each of the five fingers individually. In conclusion, we confirmed the feasibility of assisting the finger motion by the developed system through basic experiments. © 2025 IEEE.

Underwater Wireless Sensor Networks (UWSNs) are emerging and have huge prospects since they have various applications in oceanography, environmental monitoring, and underwater communication. These networks contain low-cost submerged sensors that are mostly connected by way of acoustic media. Sensors are relatively new to underwater research, and thanks to recent technological development, they can now function at different depths. In this article, the author explores what UWSNs must do to operate smoothly by exploring the basic features that they must meet for further development. Real-time Underwater communication remains an open problem due to underwater acoustic channels important for undersea data acquisition, undersea navigation, and undersea remote sensing. To mitigate such challenges and in light of the use of new technologies, researchers seek to improve the reliability and reliability of UWSNs. Finally, there is great potential with UWSNs for investigating and exploiting the underwater environment by improving scenarios of different domains in line with subaqueous data and communications. © 2024 IEEE.

It is well known that the internal quantum efficiency (IQE) of deep ultraviolet (DUV) light emitting diodes (LEDs) is lower and the efficiency droops seriously, which can be partly attributed to the low carrier injection efficiency. An n+-AIGaN tunnel junction (TJ) LED is proposed in this paper. Compared to the traditional structure, the IQE of LED with n+-AIGaN TJ has been increased by 38.1 % and the output power has been increased by 168.7 %. It's worth mentioning that the efficiency of the LED with n+-AIGaN TJ droops by only 3.94%. The energy band of the device can be manipulated by the LEDs with n+-AlGaN TJ, which results in an increase in carrier concentration. © 2024 IEEE.
