A substantial amount of the Indian economy depends solely on ***,on the other hand,plays a significant role in agriculture–while an adequate amount of rainfall can be considered as a blessing,if the amount is inordinate or scant,it can ruin the entire hard work of the *** this work,the rainfall dataset of the Vellore region,of Tamil Nadu,India,in the years 2021 and 2022 is forecasted using several machine learning *** engineering has been performed in this work in order to generate new features that remove all sorts of autocorrelation present in the *** removal of autocorrelation,the data could be used for performing operations on the time-series data,which otherwise could only be performed on any other regular regression *** work uses forecasting techniques like the AutoRegessive Integrated Moving Average(ARIMA)and exponential smoothening,and then the time-series data is further worked on using Long Short Term Memory(LSTM).Later,regression techniques are used by manipulating the *** work is benchmarked with several evaluation metrics on a test dataset,where XGBoost Regression technique outperformed the *** uniqueness of this work is that it forecasts the daily rainfall for the year 2021 and 2022 in Vellore *** work can be extended in the future to predict rainfall over a bigger region based on previously recorded time-series data,which can help the farmers and common people to plan accordingly and take precautionary measures.

Facial pose variation presents a significant challenge to facial expression recognition (FER) in real-world applications. Significant bottlenecks exist in the field of multiview facial expression recognition (MFER) including a lack of high-quality MFER datasets, and the limited model robustness in real-world MFER scenarios. Therefore, this article first introduces a metahuman-based MFER dataset (MMED), which effectively addresses the issues of insufficient quantity and quality in existing datasets. Second, a conditional cascade VGG (ccVGG) model is proposed, which can adaptively adjust expression feature extraction based on the input image's pose information. Finally, a hybrid training and few-shot learning strategy are proposed that integrates our MMED dataset with a real-world dataset and quickly deploys it in real-world application scenarios using the proposed Meta-Dist few-shot learning method. Experiments on the Karolinska Directed Emotional Face (KDEF) dataset demonstrate that the proposed model exhibits improved robustness in multiview application scenarios and achieves a recognition accuracy improvement of 28.68% relative to the baseline. It demonstrates that the proposed MMED dataset can effectively improve the training efficiency of MFER models and facilitate easy deployment in real-world applications. This work provides a reliable dataset for the MFER studies and paves the way for robust FER in any view for real-world deployment. © 2023 The Authors. Medical Imaging Segmentation is an essential technique for modern medical *** is the foundation of many aspects of clinical diagnosis,oncology,and computer-integrated surgical *** significant successes have been achieved in the segmentation of medical images,DL(deep learning)*** delineation of OARs(organs at risk)is vastly dominant but it is prone to errors given the complex irregularities in shape,low texture diversity between tissues and adjacent blood area,patientwide location of organisms,and weak soft tissue contrast across adjacent organs in CT *** now several models have been implemented onmulti organs segmentation but not caters to the problemof imbalanced classes some organs have relatively small pixels as compared to *** segment OARs in thoracic CT images,we proposed the model based on the encoder-decoder approach using transfer learning with the efficientnetB7 DL *** have built a fully connected CNN(Convolutional Neural network)having 5 layers of encoding and 5 layers of decoding with efficientnetB7 specifically to tackle imbalance class pixels in an accurate way for the segmentation of *** methodology achieves 0.93405 IOU score,0.95138 F1 score and class-wise dice score for esophagus 0.92466,trachea 0.94257,heart 0.95038,aorta 0.9351 and background *** results showed that our proposed framework can be segmented organs accurately.

The continuous optimization of business processes remains a critical success factor for companies. The assisted business process redesign (aBPR) concept guides users in improving business processes based on redesign patterns. Depending on the process data at hand, it generates four types of recommendations that differ in their level of automation. This paper presents a tool implementation of the aBPR concept as a stand-alone desktop application that has been successfully used in several case studies. The aBPR tool uses BPMN diagrams, redesign best practices, and simulation experiments to guide the user to improved process designs in a modeling application. © 2022 Copyright for this paper by its authors.

To solve the serious electron leakage problem in the AlGaN-based deep ultraviolet (DUV) light emitting diodes (LEDs), electron blocking layer (EBL) structures are optimized in this paper. Three different EBL, including reference structure and two Al component stepped structures are simulated respectively. The characteristics of P-I curves, internal quantum efficiency (IQE), electron and hole concentration of three devices are compared and analyzed. The results show that the DUV-LED which use the EBL with Al component decline stepped along the growth direction, its electron leakage is reduced and hole injection is increased, and the output performance is effectively optimized. Compared with the traditional structure, the proposed structure has a certain increase in output power and IQE. ©2024 IEEE.

Adequate oxygen in red blood cells carrying through the body to the heart and brain is important to maintain *** those patients requiring blood,blood transfusion is a common procedure in which donated blood or blood components are given through an intravenous ***,detecting the need for blood transfusion is time-consuming and sometimes not easily diagnosed,such as internal *** study considered physiological signals such as electrocardiogram(ECG),photoplethysmogram(PPG),blood pressure,oxygen saturation(SpO2),and respiration,and proposed the machine learning model to detect the need for blood transfusion *** the model,this study extracted 14 features from the physiological signals and used an ensemble approach combining extreme gradient boosting and random *** model was evaluated by a stratified five-fold crossvalidation:the detection accuracy and area under the receiver operating characteristics were 92.7%and 0.977,respectively.

Emergence of cooperation promoted by higher-order strategy updates

Cooperation is fundamental to human societies, and the interaction structure among individuals profoundly shapes its emergence and evolution. In real-world scenarios, cooperation prevails in multi-group (higher-order) populations, beyond just dyadic behaviors. Despite recent studies on group dilemmas in higher-order networks, the exploration of cooperation driven by higher-order strategy updates remains limited due to the intricacy and indivisibility of group-wise interactions. Here we investigate four categories of higher-order mechanisms for strategy updates in public goods games and establish their mathematical conditions for the emergence of cooperation. Such conditions uncover the impact of both higher-order strategy updates and network properties on evolutionary outcomes, notably highlighting the enhancement of cooperation by overlaps between groups. Interestingly, we discover that the strategical mechanism alternating optimality and randomness – selecting an outstanding group and then imitating a random individual within this group – can prominently promote cooperation. Our analyses further unveil that, compared to pairwise interactions, higher-order strategy updates generally improve cooperation in most higher-order networks. These findings underscore the pivotal role of higher-order strategy updates in fostering collective cooperation in complex social systems. Copyright © 2025, The Authors. All rights reserved.

In this paper, we proposed two kinds of graded AlInGaN last quantum barrier (LQB) structures to improve the optical performance of deep ultraviolet laser diodes (DUV LDs). Through the analysis of the P-I curves, carrier concentrations and stimulated radiation recombination rates, we have got the results that the graded AlInGaN LQB structures have higher output power and lower threshold current compared to conventional structure. Besides, the carriers concentration and stimulated radiation recombination rates in the last quantum well are higher than those in the conventional structure, which indicateqa that graded AlInGaN LQB structure significantly improved the performance of DUV LDs. ©2024 IEEE.

A Systematic Methodology for Modeling and Attitude Control of Multi-body Space Telescopes

This paper derives a symbolic multi-body rigid nonlinear model for a space telescope using Stoneking’s implementation of Kane’s method. This symbolic nonlinear model is linearized using Matlab symbolic functions diff and inv because the analytic linearization is intractable for manual derivation. The linearized system model is then used to design the controllers using both linear quadratic regulator (LQR) and robust pole assignment methods. The closed-loop systems for the two designs are simulated using both the rigid model as well as a second model containing flexible modes. The performances of the two designs are compared based on the simulation testing results. Our conclusion is that the robust pole assignment design offers better performance than that of the LQR system in terms of actuator usage and pointing accuracy. However, the LQR approach remains an effective first design step that can inform the selection of real eigenvalues for robust pole assignment.
