The ability to perceive and comprehend a traffic situation and to estimate the state of the vehicles and road-users in the surrounding of the ego-vehicle is known as situational awareness. Situational awareness for a heavy-duty autonomous vehicle is a critical part of the automation platform and depends on the ego-vehicle's field-of-view. But when it comes to the urban scenarios, the field-of-view of the ego-vehicle is likely to be affected by occlusions and blind spots caused by infrastructure, moving vehicles, and parked vehicles. This paper proposes a framework to improve situational awareness using set-membership estimation and Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) communication. This framework provides safety guarantees and can adapt to dynamically changing scenarios, and is integrated into an existing complex autonomous platform. A detailed description of the framework implementation and realtime results are illustrated in this paper.

The rapidly evolving utilization of spin Hall effect (SHE) arising from spin-orbit coupling in 5d transition metals and alloys has made giant strides in the development of designing low-power, robust, and nonvolatile magnetic memory. Recent studies, on incorporating nonmetallic lighter elements such as oxygen, nitrogen, and sulfur into 5d transition metals, have shown an enhancement in dampinglike torque efficiency θDL due to the modified SHE, but the mechanism behind this enhancement is not clear. In this paper, we study θDL at different temperatures (100–293 K) to disentangle the intrinsic and extrinsic side-jump scattering induced SHE in N-implanted Pt. We observe a crossover of intrinsic to extrinsic side-jump mechanism as the implantation dose increases from 2×1016 to 1×1017ions/cm2. A sudden decrease in the intrinsic spin Hall conductivity is counterbalanced by the increase in the extrinsic side-jump induced SHE efficiency. These results conclude that studying θDL as a function of implantation dose, and as a function of temperature, is important to understand the physical mechanism contributing to SHE.

Reduced Network Cumulative Constraint Violation for Distributed Bandit Convex Optimization under Slater’s Condition

This paper studies the distributed bandit convex optimization problem with time-varying inequality constraints, where the goal is to minimize network regret and cumulative constraint violation. To calculate network cumulative constraint violation, existing distributed bandit online algorithms solving this problem directly use the clipped constraint function to replace its original constraint function. However, the use of the clipping operation renders Slater’s condition (i.e, there exists a point that strictly satisfies the inequality constraints at all iterations) ineffective to achieve reduced network cumulative constraint violation. To tackle this challenge, we propose a new distributed bandit online primal–dual algorithm. If local loss functions are convex, we show that the proposed algorithm establishes an O(T max{c,1−c})network regret bound and an O(T 1−c/2) network cumulative constraint violation bound, where T is the total number of iterations and c ∈ (0, 1) is a user-defined trade-off parameter. When Slater’s condition holds, the network cumulative constraint violation bound is reduced to O(T 1−c). In addition, if local loss functions are strongly convex, for the case where strongly convex parameters are unknown, the network regret bound is reduced to O(T1−c), and the network cumulative constraint violation bound is O(T1−c/2) and O(T1−c) without and with Slater’s condition, respectively. For the case where strongly convex parameters are known, the network regret bound is further reduced to O)(log(T)), and the network cumulative constraint violation bound is reduced to O(log(T)T) and O(log(T)) without and with Slater’s condition, respectively. To the best of our knowledge, this paper is among the first to establish reduced (network) cumulative constraint violation bounds for (distributed) bandit convex optimization with time-varying constraints under Slater’s condition. Spatial computing is a technological advancement that facilitates the seamless integration of devices into the physical environment, resulting in a more natural and intuitive digital world user experience. Spatial computing has the potential to become a significant advancement in the field of computing. From GPS and location-based services to healthcare, spatial computing technologies have influenced and improved our interactions with the digital world. The use of spatial computing in creating interactive digital environments has become increasingly popular and effective. This is explained by its increasing significance among researchers and industrial organisations, which motivated us to conduct this review. This review provides a detailed overview of spatial computing, including its enabling technologies and its impact on various applications. Projects related to spatial computing are also discussed. In this review, we also explored the potential challenges and limitations of spatial computing. Furthermore, we discuss potential solutions and future directions. The “Internet of things” is the developing technology to transfer the world into smart innovation. “IoT” security is the most problematic issue in recent applications due to its properties including ‘centralized architecture’, ‘limited capacity devices’, and ‘ambiguity’. So, blockchain with “IoT” applications provides secure data communication compared to traditional “IoT” applications. Blockchain is a recent growing technology that has features including ‘decentralized structure’, ‘transparency’, ‘immutable records’, ‘increased capacity’, and ‘quick backtracks’. The ‘cryptography hash algorithm’ is very important to provide secure data transmission. It converted the different size input to fixed-size unalterable output to enhance the security. But still, it needs efficient algorithm to secure data transmission with safeguard of private key. The objective of this paper is to propose a secure hash cryptography algorithm with double encryption (SHCA-DE) to protect the private key message. Then, this proposed algorithm has been analyzed with MD5, SHA-256, and SHA3-512. From this analysis, the SHA3-512 performs well with proposed algorithm.

In realistic distributed optimization scenarios, individual nodes possess only partial information and communicate over bandwidth constrained channels. For this reason, the development of efficient distributed algorithms is essential. In our paper we addresses the challenge of unconstrained distributed optimization. In our scenario each node’s local function exhibits strong convexity with Lipschitz continuous gradients. The exchange of information between nodes occurs through 3-bit bandwidth-limited channels (i.e., nodes exchange messages represented by a only 3 -bits). Our proposed algorithm respects the network’s bandwidth constraints by leveraging zoom-in and zoom-out operations to adjust quantizer parameters dynamically. We show that during our algorithm’s operation nodes are able to converge to the exact optimal solution. Furthermore, we show that our algorithm achieves a linear convergence rate to the optimal solution. We conclude the paper with simulations that highlight our algorithm’s unique characteristics.

Summary: While FRAX with BMD could be more precise in estimating the fracture risk, DL-based models were validated to slightly reduce the number of under- and over-treated patients when no BMD measurements were available. The validated models could be used to screen for patients at a high risk of fracture and osteoporosis. Purpose: Fracture risk assessment tool (FRAX) is useful in classifying the fracture risk level, and precise prediction can be achieved by estimating both clinical risk factors and bone mineral density (BMD) using dual X-ray absorptiometry (DXA). However, DXA is not frequently feasible because of its cost and accessibility. This study aimed to establish the reliability of deep learning (DL)-based alternative tools for screening patients at a high risk of fracture and osteoporosis. Methods: Participants were enrolled from the National Bone Health Screening Project of Taiwan in this cross-sectional study. First, DL-based models were built to predict the lowest T-score value in either the lumbar spine, total hip, or femoral neck and their respective BMD values. The Bland–Altman analysis was used to compare the agreement between the models and DXA. Second, the predictive model to classify patients with a high fracture risk was built according to the estimated BMD from the first step and the FRAX score without BMD. The performance of the model was compared with the classification based on FRAX with BMD. Results: Approximately 10,827 women (mean age, 65.4 ± 9.4 years) were enrolled. In the prediction of the lumbar spine BMD, total hip BMD, femoral neck BMD, and lowest T-score, the root-mean-square error (RMSE) was 0.099, 0.089, 0.076, and 0.68, respectively. The Bland–Altman analysis revealed a nonsignificant difference between the predictive models and DXA. The FRAX score with femoral neck BMD for major osteoporotic fracture risk was 9.7% ± 6.7%, whereas the risk for hip fracture was 3.3% ± 4.6%. The shapes of metastatic cancer cells are considered to be relatively different from non-metastatic cancer cells, especially regarding the degree of development of lamellipodia or the pattern of internal organ arrangement. However, understanding the specific pattern of the metastatic cancer cell has just started to emerge. The eye is a critical sensory organ in human physiology, and any abnormality in the eye will result in vision problems ranging from mild to severe. Image-guided methods are frequently employed to conduct clinical-level eye health assessments, and retinal fundus imaging (RFI) is among the most frequently employed modalities for eye analysis. This research aims to implement a Deep-Learning (DL)-based technique for classifying the Normal/Glaucoma RFI database. This scheme consist following phases, image collection and labelling, feature extraction with EfficientNet, feature optimization using a novel Brownian-Distribution Algorithm (BDA), and binary classification with 3-fold cross validation. Initially, the proposed approach performs the classification with EfficientNet-model features and documents the results. Subsequently, the BDA is employed to optimize the features in order to identify the most significant ones. Serial features-fusion is then implemented to generate a new features vector. The results of this study confirm that this approach is capable of achieving a 100 % accuracy rate when the BDA optimized feature vector is utilized for the classification task. In the future, this application may be utilized to analyze the RFI collected from hospital.
