General approach to building the methods of filtering based on the minimum duration principle

A new general approach to building the filtering methods has been created on the basis of minimum duration *** of filtering methods for noisy fixed signals was developed within the framework of this approach. The specified class depends on three freely adjustable parameters and includes the known methods of averaging, median, myriad, and meridian filtering. The efficiency of the proposed approach is achieved by the adjustment of free parameters to their optimal values that depend on the noise scale (dispersion), magnitude of the weight of tails and distribution law waveforms. The general statement and partial statements of the problem of filtering the noisy fixed signal were formulated for a discrete case. The above statements were presented in the form of appropriate optimization problems. Numerical simulation results for the filtering problem of fixed signal distorted by the Gaussian, Laplace, Cauchy noises and mixtures of these noises were also presented. © 2016, Allerton Press, Inc.

Magnetized quark-gluon plasma at the LHC

In QCD, the strengths of the large scale temperature dependent chromomagnetic, B3,B8, and usual magnetic, H, fields spontaneously generated in quark-gluon plasma after the deconfinement phase transition (DPT ), are estimated. The consistent at high temperature effective potential accounting for the one-loop plus daisy diagrams is used. The heavy ion collisions at the LHC and temperatures T not much higher than the phase transition temperature Td are considered. The critical temperature for the magnetized plasma is found to be Td(H) ~ 110-120 MeV. This is essentially lower compared to the zero field value Td(H = 0) ~ 160 - 180 MeV usually discussed in the literature. Due to contribution of quarks, the color magnetic fields act as the sources generating H. The strengths of the fields are B3(T ),B8(T ) ~ 1018- 1019G, H(T ) ~ 1016- 1017G for temperatures T ~ 160 - 220 MeV. At temperatures T Copyright © 2017, The Authors. All rights reserved.

A review of the scientific and technical literature on the re-alignment of the route during the transition to high axial load from the accepted today (23.5 t/axis) to the perspective (25 t/axis) shows that in the stage of preliminary researches imitation modeling of the earth web by the finite element method (ITU) as the most convenient, accurate and illustrative of the known numerical methods. In order to provide recommendations on the strength of the subgrade when moving to a higher axial load up to 25 t/axis, an analysis was conducted, the essence of which was to compare the stress-strain state of the subgrade at two loads per axis: 23.5 t/axis (existing ) and 25 (perspective). All the geometric and deformation characteristics of the formation are taken from data on a two-track section with a height of embankment of 3. The deformation characteristics are chosen so that the working material of the formation is in accordance with the average indices of deformation capacity of the railways used. The ITU train load calculus makes it possible to obtain all the factors of VAT in it, which is the main purpose of the study of the strength of the earth cloth, and allows to forecast their development in the future.

The parameters of pulses reflected from non-periodic Bragg layered structures have been investigated. The specific structures such as asymmetric resonators with periodic Bragg reflectors and structures with chirp variation of the thickness of the “period” have been examined. The numerical investigations have been made both in Bragg band and outside it. The frequency characteristics of the structures have been interpolated by the methods of Prony and continued fractions.

A new real-time technique is proposed for automatic identification of tweek atmospherics, distance finding to lightning and estimating the effective heights of the lower ionosphere for the fundamental and higher order modes of the Earth-ionosphere waveguide. Effectiveness of the technique is demonstrated with the experimental records of atmospherics. Application of a clustering algorithm allowed us to reveal different patterns of variations of the lower ionosphere effective height along different propagations paths. The distance finding accuracy of our tweek method had been roughly estimated by a comparison with independent data from the *** lightning location network to be less than 100 km with standard deviation less than 200 km in the range of distances from 500 to 1400 km.

Development of a mathematical model of the generalized diagnostic indicator on the basis of full factorial experiment

Purpose. The aim of this work is to develop a mathematical model of the generalized diagnostic indicator of the technical state of traction substations electrical equipment. Methodology. The main tenets of the experiment planning theory, methods of structural-functional and multi-factor analysis, methods of mathematical and numerical modeling have been used to solve the set tasks. Results. To obtain the mathematical model of the generalized diagnostic indicator, a full factorial experiment for DC circuit breaker have been conducted. The plan of the experiment and factors affecting the change of the unit technical condition have been selected. The regression equation in variables coded values and the polynomial mathematical model of the generalized diagnostic indicator of the circuit breaker technical condition have been obtained. On the basis of regression equation analysis the character of influence of circuit breaker diagnostic indicators values on generalized diagnostic indicator changes has been defined. As a result of repeated performances of the full factorial experiment the mathematical models for other types of traction substations power equipment have been obtained. Originality. An improved theoretical approach to the construction of generalized diagnostic indicators mathematical models for main types of traction substations electric equipment with using the methods of experiments planning theory has been suggested. Practical value. The obtained polynomial mathematical models of the generalized diagnostic indicator D can be used for constructing the automated system of monitoring and forecasting of the traction substations equipment technical condition, which allows improving the performance of processing the diagnostic information and ensuring the accuracy of the diagnosis.
