This paper discusses phase noise characteristics of an Fr oscillator focusing on a signal output position. Oscillation circuits can be divided into an amplifier and a feedback circuit. We compared that phase noise characteristics before passing through a feedback circuit or a after. As a result, it turned out that the slope of the phase noise characteristic does not relate to the signal output position. © 2008 The Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan.

Although of the importance of analyzing vowel phonemes in the Modern Standard Arabic (MSA), it has not been paid a considerable attention in the published literature yet. Consequently, a formant-based analysis for the six vowels of MSA in connected speech was carried out in this work. The values of the first three formant frequencies were captured. The present results were compared to some previously published results conducted on MSA and other Arabic dialects. The comparison was performed from geometric perspective using the Euclidean distance. The results of the geometric comparison were found to be consistent with the visual inspection of the vowel triangles. © 2012 IEEE.

An FIR filter is implemented in this work. Enhancing the arithmetic operations of the filter is considered. For the addition operation, the signed-digit number system is utilized. For the multiplication operation, Booth-3 algorithm is used to reduce the number of partial products. Then a 1D filter is used to construct a 2D filter that is deployed on real hardware in an image processing application. © 2011 IEEE.

In Internet, IP multicast has been used successfully to provide an efficient, best-effort delivery service for group communication applications. However, applications such as multiparty private conference, distribution of stock market information, pay per view and other subscriber services require secure multicast to protect integrity and confidentiality of the group traffic, and validate group member's authenticity. Providing secure multicast for group communication is problematic without a robust group key management. In this paper, we propose an anonymous group key management with ID-based Signature and secret sharing technologies to distribute a new group key securely to each participant of a group with only one rekey message whenever the group membership changes. The key management guarantees that a legal user, without revealing his/her real identity, can join a group after finishing the mutual authentication with the group initiator, and enforces the forward secrecy and backward secrecy.

This article presents a framework to hybridize the rough set theory with a famous swarm intelligence algorithm known as Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). The hybrid rough-PSO technique has been used for grouping the pixels of an image in its intensity space. Medical and remote sensing satellite images become corrupted with noise very often. Fast and efficient segmentation of such noisy images (which is essential for their further interpretation in many cases) has remained a challenging problem for years. In this work, we treat image segmentation as a clustering problem. Each cluster is modeled with a rough set. PSO is employed to tune the threshold and relative importance of upper and lower approximations of the rough sets. Davies-Bouldin clustering validity index is used as the fitness function, which is minimized while arriving at an optimal partitioning. © 2006 IEEE.

The energy control of a Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) often leads to an unbalanced state between the battery storage system, energy extraction through photovoltaic systems energy, and energy utilization in the WSN. These disparities result in suboptimal wireless sensor network performance. The reliance on batteries is a major factor contributing to this problem. The Q-Learning Energy Management System (Q-EMS) is designed to address these challenges and improve energy management strategies. The Q-EMS algorithm used a learning process resulting in optimal actions for sensor nodes in different situations. The rewards or punishments nodes receive determine their decisions, which are determined by the Q-EMS algorithm. The Q-learning model approach is aimed at reducing energy consumption and supply in WSNs. Energy supply is categorized into battery-based, transfer-based, and harvesting, while energy consumption can be classified into task-cycle, mobility-based, and data-driven. The development of the Q Learning algorithm model has three scenarios: determining energy needs for WSN, effective energy harvesting strategy, and effective energy transfer. As a result, effective energy demand, harvesting and transfer using the Q-learning algorithm are balanced. However, it needs to be studied in more depth using real data in the field. In future research, I will use real data and optimize the use of the Q-Learning algorithm. © 2024 IEEE.

As online social media content continues to grow, so does the spread of hate speech. Hate speech has devastating consequences unless it is detected and monitored early. Recently, deep neural network-based hate speech detection models, particularly conventional single-channel Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), have achieved remarkable performance. However, the effectiveness of the models depends on the type of language they are trained on and the training data size. We argue that the effectiveness of the models could further be enhanced if we use multi-channel CNN models even for under-resourced languages that have limited training data size. This is because the single-channel CNN might fail to consider the potential effect of multiple channels to generate better features, which is not well investigated for hate speech detection. Therefore, in this work, we explore the use of multi-channel CNN to extract better features from different channels in an end-to-end manner on top of a word2vec embedding layer. Tested on a new small-scale Amharic hate speech dataset containing 2000 annotated social media comments, the experimental results show that the proposed multi-channel CNN model outperforms the single-channel CNN models but underperform from the baseline Support Vector Machine (SVM) with an average F-score of 81.3%, 78.2%, and 92.5% respectively. The finding of the study implies that the proposed MC-CNN model can be used as an alternative solution for hate speech detection using a deep learning approach when dataset scarcity is an issue. © 2022, ICST Institute for computer sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering.

Text data has essential information in it depending on a party who can process the data. Text feature extraction techniques have opened various ways to carry out the analysis process from structured to unstructured data. Based on the development of text extraction, which is widely used today. This Systematic Literature Review (SLR) paper analyzes the methods widely used in current text extraction research studies. Writing this SLR implements the PICOC method. Trends in previous studies regarding text extraction have been analyzed in this study. The total publications used are 23 articles that have been carefully observed in a systematic literature review to answer the research questions that have been formulated.

Technological advancements are increasingly evident across various sectors, including automobiles, industry, and healthcare. In precision agriculture, significant progress has been made, with AgroTICs and Smart Agriculture gaining substantial traction in the market. However, a gap remains between cutting-edge technology and family farming, presenting a challenge from both social and applied research perspectives. However, there is still a gap between cutting-edge technology and family farming, which creates a challenge from a social and applied research point of view. In this context, this paper proposes a monitoring model based on Fuzzy Logic and sensor automation applied to estimate the health of a corn crop. The proposed Fuzzy inference system involves calculating an indicator of nutrients as well as the average color and area of corn plants. The nutrient indicator is automatically computed by an ESP32 microcontroller using sensor readings, while the average color and area inputs are manually entered via a mobile application. Additionally, the Fuzzy inference is integrated into the ESP32. The model underwent experimental validation on the health of the plantation, and the results were evaluated in four areas: one was designated for testing, and three were for validation. The model achieved an accuracy of 97.5% in Scenario 3, categorized as 'Very Favorable', and an accuracy of 65% in Scenarios 2 and 4, categorized as 'Unfavorable'. The implications of this research contribute to the advancement of AgroTICs among small producers, with the potential to enhance and automate the monitoring of their harvest production. © 2024 IEEE.

A network with no infrastructure, multiple hops, and dispersed nodes called a MANET. Nodes can communicate directly or through intermediaries without the need for permanent infrastructure. In dynamic networks like MANETs, routing procedures enhance the overall appearance of the network by ensuring Quality of Service (QoS). A routing protocol may use a composite routing measure to determine the best path for transferring data. Optimal location-based routing for MANETs based on energy-awareness is presented in this paper. Optimal routes are selected using this fast algorithm. Particle swarm optimization (PSO) is used instead of location-aided routing to select the normal data transmission route. Last but not least, the network is tested by simulating its packet delivery ratio, its energy level, its delay, and its overhead. © 2024 IEEE.
