When laboratory testing is inconvenient, numerical modelling of infilled frames is required in order to represent the elastic and inelastic behaviour of these structures. However, the choice of model is very complex, as an infilled frame is made up of various materials such as bricks, mortar, concrete and reinforcements. The most accurate approach to modelling is a technique that is capable of representing the actual behaviour of the structure. In this study, we carry out numerical analysis and compare two modelling techniques, meso and macro modelling, in terms of the structural response produced. A meso model of an infilled frame has the advantage of capturing the detailed local behaviour of the panels, but has disadvantages such as complexity and high computational load. The accuracy of the structural response modelled with a meso approach is shown to have a similarity of 98% with the test results. In contrast, macro modelling using diagonal struts can significantly reduce the analysis time without compromising the accuracy of the results. This method can also accurately reproduce the nonlinear global structural behaviour. The disadvantage of this type of model is that the resulting structural response cannot represent the local damage to the masonry panel in detail. The similarity between the behaviour of the macro model and the experimental results is shown to be 104%. We find that a meso model of the infilled frame is more responsive to the initial variables derived from test results for the materials used in the structure. This is obvious in the initial stages of creating a meso model based on test data on masonry panels, as the structural response is much closer to the test results than that of the macro model. This may be because the geometric and mechanical behaviour of the meso model is closer to the actual conditions. The place attachment theory is a scientific part of the relationship between human behavior and built environment study. The built environment study explains the existence of a building and its landscape. The place attachment theory has been used in studying the relationship between human behavior with a religious and historic environment during its development. However, nowadays, this research rarely conducted and often carried out partially. As a consequence, the result analysis is only partially. This study proposed a holistically place attachment to provide a broader discourse in examining the relationship between human behavior and the built environment holistically. Moreover, place attachment theory will be used to preserve the historical religious built environment. In addition, the literature review from the previous studies and discussion methods are essential to support the research. The result shows that there is an opportunity to conduct a study of place attachment theory in supporting the preservation of the historical religious built environment. Thus, the holistic result can be obtained using the place attachment theory, which is the combination of place identity, place dependence, place affect, and place social bonding. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

As a village that later developed into an area that resembled a colonial city at that time, Depok Lama had a concept of residential space that was different from the colonial settlements that existed during the Dutch colonial period. In other colonial settlements, the concept of settlement was the result of a design from the Dutch government, in the Depok Lama settlement the concept of residential space was formed from the activities of citizens directed by a will. This method is used to find a detailed picture based on facts about the beginning of the formation of Depok lama settlement through collecting Depok Lama maps, Chastelein's will, and observing city artifacts. The results of this study note that the concept of space that was applied at the beginning of the formation of the Depok Lama settlement was an unplanned concept of sustainability, prioritizing easy access to various main facilities in the Depok Lama settlement, forming a comfortable environment for the residents of Depok Lama in building their lives and improving they socio-economic quality. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

A Comparison of Shear Strength of Box-section Beam Made of Sliced-laminated Dendrocalamus Asper Under Torsion and Transversal Load

This study was purposed to compare shear strength of box-section beams based on torsion test, and shear strength based on four point bending test. Eight beams for torsion test and nine beams for four point bending test of laminated Dendrocalamus Asper (Petung bamboo) bonded with 268 g/m 2 of urea formaldehyde were made for this research. The beams were engineered using cool-pressed by 2,0 MPa for 4 hours. The sizes of square-section of the beams are 80 mm, 120 mm, and 160 mm with 15 mm, 20 mm, and 25 mm thick. Based on the torsion test, the research showed that the maximum shear stress was in the range of 4.39 MPa to 10.13 MPa with an average of 6.50 MPa. Shear modulus of the beam was in the range of 690.68 MPa to 1,072.28 MPa with the average of 902.10 MPa. Using four point bending test, the research results showed that the maximum shear stress was in the range of 2.86 MPa to 4.85 MPa with the average of 4.06 MPa. Modulus of elasticity of the beam was in the range of 11,363.37 MPa to 15,739.23 MPa with the average of 13,502.30 MPa. The maximum shear stress based on the torsion test was significantly differed to the maximum shear stress based on the four point bending test.

Self-driving cars have gained significant attention in recent years. Real-time object detection is a critical component of their perception system. One of the main challenges in developing safe and efficient self-driving cars lies in accurately and in real-time detecting objects in diverse and complex traffic environments. This paper presents the performance evaluation of real-time object detection of YOLOv8 models, a state-of-the-art deep learning framework for self-driving cars in mixed traffic environments. The objective is to assess the extent of YOLOv8's object detection capabilities can be used for self-driving car within complex realworld traffic scenarios. The experimental results show that the accuracy of YOLOv8 during normal daylight scenarios ranges from 0.60 ~ 0.80. In contrast, the accuracy values obtained in night scenarios fall between 0.15 ~ 0.25. Similarly, the FMeasure of YOLOv8 models under daylight conditions ranges from 0.75 ~ 0.87. Conversely, the F-Measure in night conditions falls between 0.27 ~ 0.46. Based on our thorough evaluation results, YOLOv8 has demonstrated its robustness in detecting objects. However, the algorithm requires improvement to effectively handle the challenges of self-driving cars' object detection systems in mixed traffic, such as diverse object classifications, small-scale objects, fast-moving objects, blur, glare, and low-light illumination, particularly in nighttime scenarios. © 2023 IEEE.

Lower Citarum experiences recurring flood that caused by extreme rainfalls. Study of flood models is now needed to anticipate and prepare flood risk management to reduce losses. This study presents the modeling of the Lower Citarum flood flow using 1D-2D flood modeling in HEC-RAS to understand the behavior of floods. A combination of topographic survey and satellite data was used to model the river channel. Fifteen lateral structures were used to couple the 1D and 2D regimes, where the locations of the structure were based on observations. Results showed minor excesses over the lateral structures, which gradually grow into large areas over time. The study identifies locations with a high risk of flooding in the Lower Citarum Zone, which can be used in further studies for academic and practical purposes. The model result has a discrepancy with the observed data. This difference probably occurred due to the different analysis methods between the observed data and flood modeling or the model’s accuracy. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Traffic flow and building parameters are analysed jointly to identify urban noise tendencies. For this purpose, the building parameter applied is the Floor Space Index (FSI). Acoustical and traffic flow data were collected and incorporated into a Geographical Information System (GIS). The fu-ture scenarios for this zone were created. For the FSI parameter, it was ver-ified that the higher the value of the average FSI, the higher the noise lev-els registered in urban canyons.

The disregard for pedestrians' quality of life on streets is noticeable, in such a way that they are constantly exposed to excessive levels of noise, at bus stops, on a walk, or in sidewalks. Seeking to identify areas with noise conflicts for pedestrians in a Brazilian medium sized city, situated in the state of Sao Paulo, this research verifies noise levels in an urban road network. For this identification, a study area was selected according to its diversity on land use and occupation, as well as to the variety of patterns in building heights. Forty-eight points on urban streets, positioned in the middle of the street blocks, were taken as references for the registration of acoustical data and data of traffic flow. This field campaign took place on weekdays (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) and at peak hours of vehicular traffic flow. All data were entered into a Geographic Information System (GIS). By exploring the potentiality and tools of the software, the urban noise was characterized along the streets of the study area. An analysis of its spatial distribution was undertaken and the results indicated that there are many points in this area that are above the comfort conditions established by technical standards. Furthermore, it was possible to verify differences on noise levels according to the street slope. © European Acoustics Association.

Belawan Port is one of the main ports in Indonesia whose role and function are important in the national logistics system. Belawan Port is a gateway for the Province of North Sumatra. The port must have sustainability in carrying out its role and function as transportation and economic infrastructure. In this research, Belawan Port sustainability will be evaluated from several aspects or dimensions, namely ecology, economy, social culture, technology, and institutions and law. Belawan port sustainability analysis using the Multidimensional Scaling method, using the modified Rapfish program. The analysis is carried out on five dimensions and 49 attributes/factors, which are used as a reference in the SDGs program. Not every SDG will be relevant for every business, however, every SDG should be considered. SDGs no.4 and no.5 are not directly related to port management activities, while SDGs no.8,9,11,14,17 are directly related. From the analysis obtained Ecology sustainability index = 48.38 (less-sustainable), Economic sustainability index = 42.89 (Less-Sustainable), Socio-Cultural sustainability index = 52.47 (Fair-Sustainable), Technological sustainability index = 54.11 (Fair-Sustainable), Institutional and Legal sustainability index = 50.74 (Fair-Sustainable). With policy and program interventions, the sustainability of the existing Belawan Port in the short term can be improved to be fair-sustainable for all dimensions (ecology, economy, social & culture, Technology, Institution & Law) evaluated. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
