We have developed a new design methodology for face identification chips using a genetic algorithm. In the design, face images are transformed to truth-tables and they are evolved to obtain generalization ability. Digital circuits are synthesized by using the evolved truth-tables. Parallelism in the data can be embedded in the circuits by this direct hardware implementation of the face images. A face identification chip prototype has been developed by synthesizing the evolved truth tables to logic circuits. The circuit size of the chip was 1334 gates for one person on average, and this was small enough to be implemented onto a standard FPGA (field programmable gate array) chip. The chip identified a face image at 400 ns and achieved an identification accuracy of 97.2% in average. Furthermore, a high identification accuracy of more than 90% was maintained even under 18% faulty gate ratio and this high fault tolerance degraded gracefully as the faulty gate ratio increased.

Computerized map reading is one of the most important application areas in image *** data bases can be used for a wide range of social activities such as natural resource assessment,regional planning, and traffic navigation *** the previous work,the authors proposed a neural network architecture which could extract road segments in general *** road segments,however,were extracted as broken at the parts where they were overlaid and occluded by characters and map symbols.' Few studies have been carried out to restore road segments which are interrupted by map *** this paper a novel approach for the restoration of road segments which are occluded by map symbols is proposed using neural *** system is applied to 1/25,000 scaled maps published by the Geographical Survey Institute of the Ministry of Construction of *** is shown that the system can successfully complete road segments in various cases.

Dynamic programming is a fundamental algorithm that can be found in our daily lives easily. One of the dynamic programming algorithm implementations consists of solving the 0/1 knapsack problem. A 0/1 knapsack problem can be seen from industrial production cost. It is prevalent that a production cost has to be as efficient as possible, but the expectation is to get the proceeds of the products higher. Thus, the dynamic programming algorithm can be implemented to solve the diverse knapsack problem, one of which is the 0/1 knapsack problem, which would be the main focus of this paper. The implementation was implemented using C language. This paper was created as an early implementation algorithm using a Dynamic program algorithm applied to an Automatic Identification System (AIS) dataset. © 2023 IEEE.

We propose an efficient heuristic algorithm that sets up and releases lightpaths for connection requests dynamically. We partition the routing and wavelength assignment (commonly known as RWA) problem into two subproblems and solves both of them using a well-known shortest path routing algorithm. For solving the routing subproblem, an auxiliary graph is created whereby the nodes and links in the original network are transformed to the edges and vertices, respectively, and the availability of each wavelength on the input and output links of a node as well as the number of available wavelength converters are taken into account in determining the weights of edges. Furthermore, for solving the wavelength assignment subproblem, an auxiliary graph is also utilized and the cost for wavelength conversion is taken into consideration in the edge weight function. A distinguished feature of our algorithm is that it employs more accurate network information on the availability of both the wavelengths and the wavelength converters than the existing algorithms in deciding the routing and the wavelength assignment. Simulation results show that our algorithm performs much better than previously proposed algorithms with comparable computation time, especially when the number of wavelengths is large while the number of converters at each node is limited.

A digital neurochip has been fabricated by using a 1.3- mu m CMOS gate array. Six neurons and 84 synapses are implemented in the chip. The output of each neuron is encoded by impulse density and each synapse has 64 levels of modifiable weight. By simply connecting chips, a neural network can be scaled up without limit. A neural network board has been made to simulate a neural network of 54 neurons fully interconnected by excitatory and inhibitory synapses. The network is controlled by a digital computer. Synaptic weights and the internal potential of each neuron can be set and monitored by the computer. A wide range of neural networks can be simulated by the neural network board in combination with the computer.< >

An evolutionary design methodology for sonar spectrum recognition chip is proposed and the prototype chip is developed. In the design, sonar spectrum data are transformed to truth-tables and the truth-tables are evolved to obtain generalization capability by using genetic algorithms. Digital circuits are designed by synthesizing the evolved truth-tables. Parallelism in the data can be embedded in the circuits directly by this direct hardware implementation technique of the sonar spectrum data. The circuit size of the developed chip was 4,134 gates, and this was small enough to be implemented onto a standard FPGA (field programmable gate array) chip. Operation speed of the chip was less than 1.0 micro-second per spectrum. Moreover the chip achieved the recognition accuracy of 91.7%, which was higher than those in the backpropagation and the k-NN algorithm.

Current article has been developed for understanding the impact of data analytics and machine learning technique in e-commerce. A future networking design called "software-defined networking"combines network programmability with centralized administration (SDN). Network administration is currently handled by SDN, which, at the regulator, which acts as the cable network processor and divides the data plane into a control plane and a data aircraft. Recent breakthroughs in artificial intelligence (Al) have shown a stronger inclination for the science community to benefit from their ability to give learning capabilities and enhance Indicator. The author of this research provides a comprehensive analysis of initiatives underway to incorporate Al with SDN. The study concluded that the three primary Al thread where scientific research was centered were computer science, conceptual, and fuzzy reasoning systems. The authors of this paper explore the several fields in which these approaches may be used, their potential future applications, and the innovations made possible by the integration of AI-based methods into the SDN paradigm. By choosing the right SDN controller, any large organization may lower network complexity, implementation expenses, and maintenance costs. The focus of this article is software defined networking's benefits and downsides (SDN). Following is a basic explanation of artificial intelligence and a list of some of its most significant applications in SDN. © 2023 IEEE.

We have developed a hybrid computing system named HMCS-G (Grid-enabled Heterogeneous Multi-Computer System) which combines multiple cluster systems and a special purpose machine for gravity calculations. The purpose of HMCS-G is to provide ideal computation environment for computational astrophysics, which requires multiple physics phenomena for precise and detailed simulation. There are two categories of machines required for this system, that is, multiple PC-clusters for general purpose computation such as hydro-dynamics and a special purpose machine GRAPE-6 which calculates gravity for all pairs of particles in the system with very high-speed. These systems are connected with a grid-RPC named OmniRPC which supports Globus and ssh for authentication. Our HMCS-G enables the worldwide access to GRAPE-6 cluster which provides several TFLOPS performance for gravity calculation. All participating PC-clusters share this resource in time sharing manner with grid technology. For efficient usage of GRAPE-6 resource, we modified the original server cluster of it for multiple clients running in various network environment. Currently, precise simulations on galaxy formation are being performed on clusters in several institutes with smoothed particle hydrodynamics and radiative transfer under complete gravity calculation, as the first real application on HMCS-G.
