Detecting stunting in children is an important issue currently faced by healthcare providers to follow up efforts to reduce the number of stunted children in a region. Emerging research has applied deep learning to many aspects of stunting, including classifying stunting in children through facial images. This study aims to extend previous work on CNN benchmarking in classifying facial images of stunted children and normal children. Here, we trained, validated, and tested five more popular CNN architectures, namely ShuffleNetV2, InceptionV3, MobileNetV2, EfficientNetB0, and VGG19;the research was applied to the same dataset built in previous work. We presented the training and validation loss graphs, and the confusion matrices of all architectures. We measured CNN's accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-measures of the testing stage. Simulation results indicated that three CNN models, namely MobileNetV2, VGG19, and EfficientNetB0 performed comparably or better than previous CNNs in classifying children's facial images. VGG19 and EfficientNetB0 achieved testing accuracies of 100%. © 2024 IEEE.

The global trend in broadband internet services reveals an increased focus on reliability, customer service, and integrating new technologies like IoT, 5G, or FMC. Customer service is primarily determined by network quality and reliability, price, and the quality of customer support provided by ISPs. Meanwhile, existing network quality measurement methods often involve numerous parameters, ranging from download speed and server response time to video streaming quality, each providing a separate insight into aspects of user experience. Therefore, the importance of the composite index method is becoming increasingly relevant. This method allows the integration of these various parameters into a single, easily understandable integrated index, simplifying complex data analysis into a more concise and interpretable form. As a result of this approach, internet service providers can more effectively monitor and enhance the customer experience and the overall quality of their services for various purposes with a single composite parameter value, providing reassurance and confidence in their operations. © 2024 IEEE.

The quality of asphalt concrete that meets technical specifications as an asphalt pavement construction material is the main consideration for an engineer, so that the design life of the road can be achieved. Currently, the use of modified type II PG70 asphalt mixture is considered to be a relevant choice for road conditions in areas with a tropical climate, especially in hot temperature areas. Asphalt concrete is a construction material that has flexible behavior during traffic loads. One of the behaviors in question is the resilient modulus (Mr), the selection of aggregate gradations and the type of asphalt that meets certain requirements which greatly affects the quality of asphalt concrete. Method is using static loading with the Marshall test tool. The value of the modulus of elasticity can be measured with the Marshall parameter. The maximum resilience modulus value for the asphalt concrete mixture AC–WC = 67,678 Mpa and AC–BC = 72,732 Mpa. The application of the Marshall test is still feasible to use in determining the resilient modulus, although there are other, more detailed methods in finding the resilient modulus of a material. The resilient modulus analysis carried out by the author aims to determine the value of the resilience modulus (Mr) on the AC–WC and AC–BC pavement layers as an evaluation of the results of the design planning (Detail engineering Design) of road pavements. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Deaf people are people who are unable to communicate with spoken language. Deaf people communicate with the Indonesian Sign System or commonly known as SIBI. In fact, deaf people often communicate and socialize with normal people, but not all normal people understand and understand SIBI. We as researchers want to provide a way out so that deaf people can convey information to normal people, who do not understand SIBI. The input of this research is SIBI movement which is saved in Video format, then the video is processed with the LSTM algorithm. Video The results of the processing are in the form of classified words, the output of this research is in the form of text. The word data set in this study consisted of 3 words, each word contained 30 data sets. The level of accuracy of this study when recognizing words in SIBI that do not hit the face is 100%.

The objective of this research was silanize zirconium oxide (ZrO2) nanoparticles with 3-(trimethoxysilyl) propyl methacrylate (γ-MPS). Silanization is a surface treatment process of a material using silane compounds to improve the surface adhesive and compatibility of ZrO2 with other materials or coatings and to modify its surface. The surface modification of ZrO2 by 3-(trimethoxysilyl) propyl methacrylate as coupling agents under the influence of ultrasonic waves. The silanized ZrO2 was characterized Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The FTIR analysis indicated the interaction of the silane compound on the ZrO2 surface, showing characteristic peaks corresponding to Zr-OH, C-H stretching, carbonyl groups, and Zr-O-Si bonds, indicating successful grafting. The FTIR spectra for the ZrO2 nanoparticles, showing peaks at 1088 cm-1 showed the formation of Zr-O-Si covalent bonds. ZrO2 nanoparticles also exhibited a characteristic peak at 400 cm-1, indicating the deformation of Zr-O-Zr bonds. C=C, and C=O peaks are observed in the range of 1632-1714 cm-1. Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) measures showed a higher weight loss of the silanized ZrO2 when higher amounts of silane were added. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

This study adopted AI to identify the normal and abnormal vibration signals generated during robotic grinding. This study classified four fundamental factors affecting grinding into three levels to obtain a widely used result and designed an L9(3 4) orthogonal array for the grinding experiment. During experimentation, part of the grinding wheels was added weight to produce abnormal vibration signals, which an accelerometer would measure. The study transformed the collected vibration signals into recurrence plots and conducted model training with VGG16 CNN architecture. Finally, this study tested a model with 89.6% training accuracy. The results showed the model could identify whether the recurrence plots stand for normal or abnormal vibrations, with an accuracy of 85%. This means it could predict normal and abnormal grinding conditions and help avoid problems caused by abnormal vibrations. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Korean Society for Precision engineering.

Bioethanol production from lignocellulosic biomass has become an economical and environmentally friendly substitute to current petroleum-based fuels. This is due to its ability to decrease carbon dioxide emissions and make use of plentiful natural resources. Current advances in this area concentrate on improving the effectiveness and expandability of the conversion procedures by using inventive pretreatment approaches, enhanced enzyme compositions, and refined fermentation technologies. Consolidated bioprocessing (CBP) and utilizing genetically modified microbes have expedited the decomposition of intricate biomass complexes and enhanced overall productivity. Furthermore, process intensification developments, such as the adoption of hybrid reactors and continuous production systems, have considerably decreased production expenses and energy usage. Nevertheless, there are still obstacles to overcome, including the raw materials inconsistency, the demand for efficient recovery and purifying techniques, and the financial viability of extensive processes. This study examines the latest developments in bioethanol production from lignocellulosic biomass. It focuses on ecological approaches, technical advancements, and the main obstacles that need to be overcome to exploit its promise as a biofuel fully. This review primarily focused on outcomes documented in the last five years from 2019 to 2024. The first segment of this work focuses on the second-generation bioethanol production process, which includes: the properties and composition of lignocellulosic biomass, pretreatment, enzymatic saccharification, and fermentation. The subsequent portion of this paper examines a techno-economic analysis, the obstacles and the prospective technology outlook. It finishes by discussing findings from research fields that haven't been investigated yet, besides the obstacles faced in bioethanol manufacturing methods. © The Author(s) 2025.

Temiki (Melastoma Candidum) is one of the unutilized wild plants observed to be turning pests on plantations. It has only been used for medicine and not for engineering purposes. Therefore, this study aims to identify and analyze Temiki’s chemical compounds, which are useful as corrosion inhibitors. The plant was washed, dried, then blended until it became a fine powder, and was further extracted by employing the maceration method with ethanol as solvent. The extracted compounds were also analyzed using Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrophotometry (GC–MS) and the results obtained include, 2-Furancarboxaldehyde (CAS) Furfural, 1,2,3-Propanetriol (CAS) Glycerol, Acetic acid,1-(2-methyltetrazole-5-yl) etheny, 4H-Pyran-4one,2,3-dihydro-3,5-dihydroxy, 5-Hydroxymethylfurfural, cis-dimethylmorpholine, 3-penten-1-ol,2,2,4-trimethyl-(CAS)2,2,4, 2-AMINO-9-(3,4-DIHYDROXY-5-HYDORO, D-Allose, beta-D-Glucopyranoside, methyl, Hexadecanoic acid, methyl ester, 9,12,15-Octadecatrienoic acid, methyl ester. Population-based metaheuristic algorithms have been used to solve challenging optimization problems, and numerous modifications to make these algorithms more efficient have been proposed. Jaya is one of these algorithms that has been modified and utilized to solve many hard optimization problems. One such modification to the original algorithm is the Modified Jaya (MJAYA) algorithm, which, like Jaya, uses information about the best and worst candidate solutions to determine the population’s search direction, thereby limiting and focusing the search. Recent research has demonstrated that the MJAYA algorithm is not effective at solving systems of nonlinear equations transformed into equivalent nonlinear optimization problems. Systems of nonlinear equations are probably the most difficult class of numerical mathematics problems to solve, which justifies the use of metaheuristic approaches in their resolution. This paper proposes a new population-based optimization algorithm, the Improved Modified Jaya (IM-Jaya) algorithm, which, despite being a generic metaheuristic optimization algorithm, is here used to solve systems of nonlinear equations. The proposed algorithm strikes a better balance between global exploration and local exploitation, allowing for a broader and more exhaustive exploration of the search space as well as a more efficient local search in its most promising regions. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

This paper proposes a method to estimate the posture of an athlete moving on a vast field in a sporting event using a pan-tilt-zoom camera. In order to estimate the posture of an athlete on a sports field from a dynamic video sequence, our method extracts image features to search correspondence points among successive frames and computes the homography transformation matrix that compensates for changes the camera parameters (e.g., angle of view and posture). The effectiveness of this method is qualitatively verified using MLB TV broadcast video. The accuracy and error factors are also quantitatively verified by CG simulation.
