As the global population ages, the number of elderly people needing hearing aids is increasing. This paper proposed an architecture designed to enhance speech based on noise conditions. After noise types are identified by a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) noise classification model, these noise conditions are combined with the noisy speech and input into a conditional Generative Adversarial Network (cGAN) for speech enhancement. The CNN noise classification model achieves an average recognition accuracy of nearly 92%, with a Kappa value as high as 0.88. The cGAN speech enhancement achieves lower error values in the Mel-Cepstral Distortion (MCD) measure. Although some parts of the human voice may be filtered out, the results demonstrate the potential development of the proposed algorithm.

There is no doubt about the presence of iron sand around the west coast of West Sumatra. Several studies have been carried out, but in Ulakan Tapakis area is still under observation, and no investigation of its potential and distribution. One of the methods that can provide models and subsurface descriptions is using goelectrical resistivity method. The geoelectrical application in Ulakan Tapakis was used Wenner-Schlumberger array into 4 section. The section was designed perpendicular to the beach with a length of 47 meters for short lines and 470 meters for long line, the distance between sections was about 65 meters. The results obtained in the form of pseudosection types. Each section describes the distribution and lithology of rocks below the surface. The combination of all sections gives an overview of the iron sand model at Ulakan Tapakis. From the model obtained the results of geoelectrical measurements with the Wenner-Schlumberger array, the distribution of iron sand can be found along the coast of the study area at a depth of 0.7 m - 3 m in short line and 40 m in long line with resistivity values ranging from 52 - 289 ωm © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

A studies using the resistivity method have been carried out to determine the potential of iron sand in Ulakan Tapakis West Sumatra. This study aims to establish the potential 3D modelling of iron sand. Wenner array is used to determine location of anomalies by taking 5 sections which has 180 meter length. The distance of the electrode used is 3.9 meters. Generally, Ulakan Tapakis has 3 main components of alluvial deposits, namely a layer of top sand (upper sand), middle sand, and a layer of iron sand which is divided into 2 layers, namely the bottom sand and the iron sand layer which has a resistivity value ranging from 9.53 -14135 ωm. These layers have different resistivity values depending on the constituent material. The existance of iron sand is located at depths of 0-6 meter below sea surface, with range of resistivity is 9.53-1000 ωm. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Developing a rapid, accurate, and cost-effective method for predicting constituents related to soil nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and potassium (K) content is considered substantial. One procedure that can work with these criteria and is currently popularly researched is the visible and near-infrared (Vis-NIR) method. Furthermore, machine learning algorithms have been proven to increase the accuracy and robustness of calibration models developed based on short Vis-NIR spectra. Therefore, the potential of combination using short Vis–NIR band (450–1050 nm) in tandem with machine learning algorithm (k-nearest neighbors (kNN), adaboost, random forest) was investigated and evaluated deeply in this study to predict the soil content of N, P, and K using 122 tropical dry farmland samples of Aceh Province origin, Indonesia. Within the investigated variables, the parameter RPD achieved excellent classification (RPD>4.1) for any application for predicted tropical dry farmland soil samples N, P, and K using min-max normalization followed by the kNN algorithm. The short Vis–NIR tandem with machine learning provided promising calibration predictions of N, P, and K content for agricultural soil dry land, especially from Aceh Province, Indonesia. © 2024 The Authors

Study of stinging nettle fibers as a reinforcing of composite materials based on its growing region

Stinging nettle is a perennial herbaceous plant belonging to the Urticaceae family, In Bali Indonesia called jelatang. This species is considered a weed in intensive agriculture as its fast vegetative growth and high densities enable increased spread and soil coverage. In Tabanan Bali Indonesia several places to grow are in Denbantas altitude 200-500 meters and in Bedugul altitude 1000 -1500 meters above sea level. Nettle fibers are natural fibers that can be utilized as reinforcement for composite materials. Natural fibers have been used worldwide as a potential replacement for glass fiber reinforced composites, over the last few years has been applied in the automotive sector, aircraft interior and interior of the building. Properties of the natural fiber is lighter, easier to handle, not abrasive, and low cost. The objective of this study was to compare the composition and the tensile strength of the fiber nettle based growing areas from Bedugul and Denbantas. The method used is a fiber tensile test equipment, fourier transformer infrared red (FTIR), thermo-gravimetric analysis (TGA) and scanning electron microscope (SEM). From the research of nettle fibers that stinging nettle from Denbantas has a better tensile strength than Bedugul nettle. The TGA test the visible fiber from Denbantas is superior when used as a composite reinforcement.

We present a numerical study of the charge dynamical structure factor N(k, ω) of a one-dimensional (1D) ionic Hubbard model in the Mott insulator (MI) phase. We show that the low-energy spectrum of N(k, ω) is expressed in terms of the spin operators for the spin degrees of freedom. Numerical results for the spin degrees of freedom, obtained by the Lanczos diagonalization method, well reproduce the low-energy spectrum of N(k, ω) of the 1D ionic Hubbard model. In addition, we show that these spectral peaks probe the dispersion of the spin-singlet excitations of the system and are observed in the wide parameter region of the MI phase. In this proceeding, we present polarization data of sidebands emitted from strongly driven quasiparticles, demonstrate the dependence of these data on various parameters of the external driving field, and describe the data using an analytical expression, dependent on driving field parameters and the effective Hamiltonian of the system. We propose using this method on spin-momentum locked systems, such as altermagnets, to observe and reconstruct sidebands which are influenced by the topology of individual bands.

Asynchronous Brain Computer Interfaces (BCI) al-low system activation at free will. This scenario would be desirable for potential users such as patients with motor disabilities, however, there are still several limitations such as long calibration times and overall performance. Different approaches to improve these systems explore diverse linear electroencephalography (EEG) features in order to describe cognitive states. Alternatively, the present study proposes the use of recurrence quantification analysis (RQA), which provides indices about the dynamical behaviour of non-linear systems. We evaluated the accuracy of continuous detection of mental calculation and idle state using RQA features from EEG recordings. Among the different classification methods that were tested, random forest (RF) classifier resulted in the best performance. From 35 selected RQA features, 12 healthy subjects achieved mean accuracy of 0.924 ±0.048, whereas with 150 selected features mean accuracy was 0.977 ±0.020. These results suggest that RQA features are adequate for continuous task episode detection in asynchronous BCI. However, a restriction in the number of these features, conceived for improving computational costs and time, does impact detection performance.

This research proposes a methodology for identifying the optimal feature combination using Support Vector Machine (SVM) based on edge and texture features. Canny, Sobel, and Prewitt for edge detection and GLCM, Gabor, and LBP for texture analysis are popular feature extraction techniques widely employed in various cases. The approach combines edge and texture features with SVM to classify rice types into five categories: Ipsala, Jasmine, Karacadag, Arborio, and Basmati. Experimental results demonstrate that SVM using Canny, Sobel, and Prewitt combined Gabor texture features outperforms the comparative methods. A comparative analysis based on accuracy scores using confusion matrices is conducted. Combining all feature edge methods, Canny, Sobel, and Prewitt with Gabor on SVM classification is the best model for rice object classification, achieving an accuracy of 96%.
