Minimizing overhead resulting from context switching is a prerequisite for effective real-time multi-processing. Our heterogeneous data-driven processor has shown its multi-processing capability without extending turn-around time of any process as long as enough processing resource is available. However, the heterogeneous multi-processor system connected by a non-uniform network can yield bottlenecks that prevent it from meeting performance requirements unless program allocation is optimized during preprocessing. To avoid overload at the bottlenecks, we need a prototyping scheme to verify each processor's load. This paper discusses an emulation facility for an elastic pipeline structure. To effective emulate our data-driven processor, fine-grained parallel processing is required because the elastic pipeline structure makes up an autonomous processor without a centralized clock. By testing our data-driven processor used as an emulation facility to emulate fine-grained pipeline parallelism, we show its effectiveness. © 1999, Springer-Verlag. All rights reserved.

In Internet, IP multicast has been used successfully to provide an efficient, best-effort delivery service for group communication applications. However, applications such as multiparty private conference, distribution of stock market information, pay per view and other subscriber services require secure multicast to protect integrity and confidentiality of the group traffic, and validate group member's authenticity. Providing secure multicast for group communication is problematic without a robust group key management. In this paper, we propose an anonymous group key management with ID-based Signature and secret sharing technologies to distribute a new group key securely to each participant of a group with only one rekey message whenever the group membership changes. The key management guarantees that a legal user, without revealing his/her real identity, can join a group after finishing the mutual authentication with the group initiator, and enforces the forward secrecy and backward secrecy.

Pollution of domestic wastewater becomes an urban problem. Domestic wastewater contains a variety of pollutants. One of the pollutant parameters in domestic wastewater is BOD. Domestic wastewater which BOD concentrations exceeding the quality standard will be harmful to the environment, particularly the receiving water body. Therefore, before being discharged into the environment, domestic wastewater needs to be processed first. One of the processing that has high efficiency, low cost and easy operation is biofilter technology. The purpose of this research was to analyze the efficiency of BOD concentration reduction in domestic wastewater with anaerobic reactor biofilter using volcanic gravel media. The type of reactor used is an anaerobic biofilter made of glass which volume of 30 liters while the biofilter media is volcanic gravel. In this research the established HRT were 24, 12, 6 and 3 hours. The results showed that the efficiency of BOD concentration reduction in artificial domestic wastewater reached 80%. © 2018 The Authors, published by EDP sciences.

This study examined the effect of Zn2+ ion substitution on ZnxMn(1-x) Fe2O4 nanoparticles (x = 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8) towards signal Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR). The co-precipitation method synthesised the nanoparticles at a temperature of 90°C. The X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) results showed a polycrystalline structure with a crystallite size varied from 19.05 nm to 19.77 nm. In addition, as the Zn element increased in the ZnxMn(1-x)Fe2O4 nanoparticles, the degree of crystallinity increased by 21.72%, respectively. The optical properties of the nanoparticles ZnxMn(1-x) Fe2O4 indicate absorbance at wavelengths of 330.36–331.74 nm. The absorbance level increased as the Zn element decreased, resulting a direct optical gap of 3.47 eV and an indirect optical gap of 3.23 eV. The Attenuated Total Reflection (ATR) curve in the SPR biosensor indicated a shift in the reflective angle of the Prism/Au/Air configuration, which is 47.78° on Prisma/Au/nanoparticle of Zn0.8Mn0.2Fe2O4/air by 50.75°, and the prism/Au/nanoparticle of Zn0.2Mn0.8Fe2 O4/air by 51.04°. The substitution of Zn ions in the compound Zn x Mn(1-x)Fe2O4 affects the resulting ATR curve. The shift in the SPR angle is caused by changes in the refractive index in each layer which is influenced by the concentration of each material which has an impact on the absorbance ability and photon reflectance. This research has the potential to continue with the testing of dielectric and magnetic properties, as well as special testing for biological analytes compatible with ZnxMn(1-x)Fe2O4 nanoparticles. © 2023 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.

Medicinal plant recognition manually takes a lot of time and money. Moreover, to reduce these resources, some researchers propose to implement artificial intelligence technology. This paper aims are to conduct a systematic literature review of medicinal plant leaf recognition published in the last two years (2019-2020) from IEEE, Springer and science Direct. We obtained 15 studies in the field of medicinal plant leaf recognition using artificial intelligence. The dataset used for medicinal plant leaf recognition is mostly used private dataset, however, there are public dataset named Leaf, Flavia, Swedish dataset. We also found robust method that can be used for medicinal plant leaf recognition is Multichannel Modified Local Gradient Pattern (MCMLGP) and Gray Level Co-Occurrence Matrix (GLCM) as feature extraction;and Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), Multi-Layer Perceptron trained with Backpropagation algorithm (MLP-BP), Support Vector Machine (SVM), and Transfer Learning (VGG19) as classifier. © 2021 IEEE.

Preeclampsia (PE) is a disease that significantly impacts both maternal and infant health with its prevalence varying across different ethnicities. Current diagnostic methods for PE typically identify the condition after 20 weeks of gestation, often when the disease has already manifested and reached an advanced stage. The situation underscores the urgent need for early biomarkers capable of effective screening and diagnosis. Our review addresses this challenge by utilizing bioinformatics approaches as an alternative method prior to preclinical and clinical studies. Specifically, we focus on FRAGmentomics-based Methylation Analysis (FRAGMA), targeting the CGCGCGG sequence motif for methylation studies in cell-free DNA (cfDNA). Since cfDNA is largely derived from the placenta, the FRAGMA approach is particularly promising, given that the primary pathophysiology of PE originates in the placenta, and methylation patterns are unique to specific tissues. In the previous research, we identified 66 genes containing this sequence motif that are implicated in the pathophysiology of PE, and only six genes – FN1, ITGA2, ITGA5, ITGB1, ITGB3, and VWF – show potential as early detection biomarkers for PE. These genes still require further investigation to confirm their utility as biomarkers for PE in the future studies.

Low head hydropower has the potential to produce green energy with a minimum on the environment and is one of the best choices for decentralized power plants. Aceh is one of many regions in Indonesia with hilly topography and many river streams. Of the 66 rivers in Aceh that have potential energy sources that can be developed 98.5 percent are low head. Generally, the technique for overcoming altitude problems in low river flows is the use of low head turbines. An important aspect of head power generation techniques is the selection of turbines. The study aimed to study low head propeller turbines for the use of micro hydropower plants. By calculating the main dimensions and main components of the turbine, field experiments were carried out to determine turbine rotation and energy, as well as turbine efficiency at a flow rate of 0.06 m3/sec and a 3.5-meter head. The calculation results obtained by a specific turbine speed of 1.53, runner diameter of 0.30 meters, hub diameter of 0.06 meters, shaft diameter 0.03, runner length 1.08, triangular speed of 30 degrees with the number of blades 4 pieces. From the results of field experiments, the maximum turbine rotation speed is 1828 rpm, the turbine power is 2,530 watts with a voltage between 220 to 240 volts while the maximum efficiency is 57 percent. It can be concluded that propeller-type turbines with the low head are suitable for micro power plants, especially in remote areas. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Water quality indices (WQI) using STORET method has been used to assess rainwater quality in the Bandung urban regions, based on monitoring data at three locations (Coblong, Sumur Bandung, and Buah Batu). Rainwater samples were analyzed by detecting pH, SO42-, NO3-, Cl-, and heavy metals (As, Cd, Cr, Pb, and Zn) compared with Indonesian Government Regulation No. 82 Year 2001. Rainwater quality showed polluted based on the parameters of the water quality indices analysis using the Class I and Class II criteria. Rainwater quality in Bandung urban region were lightly polluted (Coblong) and moderately polluted (Sumur Bandung and Buah Batu). Rainwater can potentially become a water sources alternative for domestic use and urban farming in Bandung urban region, but it requires further treatment for better quality. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Transient analysis of an advanced static Var compensator using quad-series voltage-source PAM inverters

He is engaged in research on reactive power compensators.

This paper deals with an advanced static Var compensator (ASVC) using quad-series voltage-source PAM inverters. The ASVC consists of four three-phase voltage-source inverters with a common de capacitor and four three-phase transformers, each primary winding of which is connected in series with each other. Each inverter outputs a square-wave voltage, while the synthesized output voltage of the ASVC has a 24-step wave shape. This results not only in a great reduction of harmonic currents and de voltage ripples but also in fewer switching and snubbing losses. In this paper, transient analysis is performed with the focus on the response of reactive power and the resonance between the de capacitor and ac reactors. Experimental results obtained from a small-rated laboratory model of 10 kVA are also shown to verify analytical results based on the p-q transformation. The analytical results help in the design of system parameters such as the capacity of the de capacitor and feedback gains.

A research that analyzed the relationship between biogas production as renewable energy and performance of waste water treatment in tofu small industry using AnSBR reactor has been conducted. This research used system operation method in batches in to get a description of how the biogas production system works as it was operated in the batch mode, which is applied in tofu industry. An instrument capable of operation in batch mode using AnSBR reactor was designed as it does not require sludge re-circulation. An AnSBR reactor includes five stages of;filling, reaction, settling, decanting, and stabilization (idling state). The research was run for 24 days using biogas collected in a tank. Biogas was measured for each HRT starting on the second day HRT to 24th day HRT. Biogas characteristics were monitored on day 16th for contents of CH4, CO2 and heat value. Results show that CH4 content in the biogas amounts to 78.26 %, while CO2 comprises 20.16 %. Meanwhile, the heat value, which depends on acid methane and CO2 content, is 4,246.55 kkal/kg. © The Authors, published by EDP sciences, 2018.
