In the modern era, an increasing number of diseases are emerging because of human lifestyle choices and bacterial transmission. Gastritis, characterized by inflammation in the stomach lining leading to frequent abdominal pain, is one such ailment. Recognizing the significance of addressing these health issues, there is a need for an expert system application specifically designed for diagnosing gastritis. The primary objective is to disseminate information to the public regarding the early symptoms of gastritis, promoting awareness from a young age. The research method used is the web-based Expert System Development Life Cycle (ESDLC). The diagnostic process employs the Certainty Factor (CF) method to ensure accurate results. By utilizing symptom CF values chosen by the user, the Certainty Factor approach facilitates a diagnosis based on calculations established by medical specialists. The research culminates in the development of an expert system application capable of accurately diagnosing the disease Android based. The accuracy rates for the first, second, and third test cases are reported as 98.848%, 99.8464%, and 99.99115264%, respectively. System testing, conducted through black-box testing, validates the application's functionality, demonstrating a 100% success rate for each component. © 2023 IEEE.

Diphtheria is an infectious disease that affects the upper respiratory system and throat, arising suddenly and caused by Corynebacterium diphtheriae. The symptoms of diphtheria such as fever, swollen neck and slimy nose are often interpreted as influenza or laryngitis. Diphtheria is a contagious and deadly disease that requires specialized and rapid treatment and care. In today's technological era, it can be overcome with a system that can diagnose diphtheria like a doctor's diagnosis ability commonly called an expert system. This study describes the application of an expert system to diagnose diphtheria disease. The research method used is the web-based Expert System Development Life Cycle (ESDLC). The method used to process input values is Forward Chaining. Fuzzy Tsukamoto to calculate the input value from the user. The research has been tested with Blackbox testing showing the results that the expert system works well and accuracy testing with 92% results. The results show effectiveness with a satisfactory level of accuracy in detecting diphtheria disease. This research contributes to the development of expert systems in the health sector with a focus on diagnosing diphtheria disease using a fuzzy logic approach. © 2023 IEEE.

Gastroenteritis is a common gastrointestinal disorder with varying degrees of severity, including cases without dehydration, mild dehydration, moderate dehydration, and severe dehydration. This research focuses on the development of a mobile-based expert system for detecting gastroenteritis, capable of distinguishing between these different dehydration levels. The methodology employed integrates the Extreme Structure Development Life Cycle (ESDLC) and the Best First Search algorithm. The expert system is designed to provide swift and accurate responses to users inputting symptoms, categorizing gastroenteritis cases based on the severity of dehydration. The application of ESDLC ensures a structured and organized development process, while the Best First Search method enhances the efficiency of the diagnostic process, facilitating timely and precise recommendations. Accessible through mobile platforms, the system allows users to input symptoms conveniently and receive rapid recommendations. Rigorous testing and evaluation affirm the system's high accuracy in discerning dehydration levels in gastroenteritis patients. In conclusion, the developed mobile-based expert system exhibits promising potential for advancing diagnostic services, particularly in the categorization of dehydration levels in gastroenteritis cases. The successful implementation of ESDLC and Best First Search paves the way for similar solutions in other healthcare domains, contributing positively to early and accurate disease management efforts. This innovation marks a significant stride towards improving healthcare technology for enhanced decision support in gastroenteritis diagnosis. © 2023 IEEE.

The central object of this thesis is known under different names in the fields of computer science and statistical mechanics. In computer science, it is called the Maximum Cut problem, one of the famous twenty-one Karp’s original NP-hard problems, while the same object from Physics is called the Ising Spin Glass model. This model of a rich structure often appears as a reduction or reformulation of real-world problems from computer science, physics and engineering. However, solving this model exactly (finding the maximal cut or the ground state) is likely to stay an intractable problem (unless P = NP) and requires the development of ad-hoc heuristics for every particular family of instances. One of the bright and beautiful connections between discrete and continuous optimization is a Semidefinite programming-based rounding scheme for Maximum Cut. This procedure allows us to find a provably near-optimal solution;moreover, this method is conjectured to be the best possible in polynomial time. In the first two chapters of this thesis, we investigate local non-convex heuristics intended to improve the rounding scheme. In the last chapter of this thesis, we make one step further and aim to control the solution of the problem we wanted to solve in previous chapters. We formulate a bi-level optimization problem over the Ising model where we want to tweak the interactions as little as possible so that the ground state of the resulting Ising model satisfies the desired criteria. This kind of problem arises in pandemic modeling. We show that when the interactions are non-negative, our bi-level optimization is solvable in polynomial time using convex programming. This paper aims at proposing and comparing two fuzzy models and a statistical model for clustering based on L1-space. Clustering methods in the fuzzy models are the standard fuzzy c-means and an entropy regularization method based on L1-space. Furthermore, we add new variables to them for improving the cluster division. In the statistical model, a mixture distribution model based on L1-space is proposed and the EM algorithm is applied. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2001.

In the analysis of real-world data, two significant challenges often arise: high-dimensional signals and their temporal interactions. To address these issues and identify transitions in process conditions through end-to-end learning, we propose a self-supervised representation learning framework that conceptualizes signals as images. This straightforward approach classifies imaged signals as time-specific conditions by maximizing mutual information within a domain-specific feature space. We applied this methodology to two labeled open datasets and one unlabeled real-world process dataset, yielding promising results. © 2024 IEEE.

A treatment consisting of resistance heat treatment and artificial aging was developed to improve the product strength and press formability of Al-Mg-Si alloy sheets having paint bake hardenability used for automobile body panels. In this treatment, the sheets are re-solution heat-treated by resistance heating and water quenching just before the press forming. The formed sheets are artificially aged just after the press forming to increase the product strength. In the experiment, Al-0.60%Si-0.74%Mg (A6061) alloy sheets were chosen. The solution heat treatment of the sheets was sufficiently accomplished by the rapid resistance heat treatment, and the press formability of the sheets was improved. The hardness of formed products is increased by the artificial aging and paint bake hardening. It was found that the present heat treatment is effective in improving the product strength and press formability of the Al-Mg-Si alloy sheets having the paint bake hardenability.

The performance of several adversarial search algorithms is very dependent on the move generation and ordering procedure, as well as on the transposition table characteristics. In this work we compare Alpha-beta, MTD-f and NegaScout performance in the presence and absence of the following features: transposition table, Hash Move heuristic and move ordering using the evaluation function. We found that NegaScout did not yield major improvements over Alpha-Beta, which is likely due to the move ordering performed using a weak evaluation function. In most cases, MTD-f examines fewer nodes, and completes fixed depth searches in less time than Alpha-beta and NegaScout. This is consistent with the literature when using coarse grained evaluation functions. Finally, we found that enabling move ordering leads to fewer nodes examined than enabling the Hash Move heuristic, but, as sorting is time consuming, search is slower. Best results overall are found using MTD-f with all enhancements enabled. These results, in a previously unexplored game, are consistent with existing literature. This enables us to make predictions of algorithm and heuristics' performance in novel games, based on an analysis of the games' features, without having to implement all techniques. © 2022 IEEE.

The purpose of this paper is to suggest new 3-D N-link system movement simulator. Previous presented method used to "Jacobian" matrix for connecting between the work space coordination and the angle state space for representing the whole N-link system. But this system has difficulties for simulating the whole dynamics of the general N-link system from the side of computational cost and the precision of the calculations. The major reasons depend on the fundamental principle of conversion equivalence between the work space coordination q&rarr, and the angle state space x &rarr this principle assure that we can change the work space coordinate into the angle state space coordinate which is convenient for the calculation, but this conversion have singularity - that is, there is no inverse matrix of "J". In addition, there is accumulation of calculation error when it follows from the link root to link end in the case of calculating the multi-joint link movement dynamics, and the problem of treating the external force into the angular space dynamics. In this study, we consider the N-link system as N-particle movement system. And each of the particles is connected by a kind of spring damper model in imitation of a link. Because of this, our proposed method has no coordinate conversion between work space and angular space in the dynamics simulation. And by the way of introducing some dynamics restriction, we can construct many of joint features such as fixed joint or single revolute joint, spherical link and so on. And we confirmed the 3D N-link system performance through some dynamics simulation such as walking, this simulator shows good accuracy and computational cost performances comparing previous proposed N-link system simulator.

The usability of a prosthetic hand difers significantly from that of a real ***,the complexity of manipulation increases as the number of degrees of freedom to be controlled increases,making manipulation with biological signals extremely *** overcome this problem,users need to select a grasping posture that is adaptive to the object and a stable grasping method that prevents the object from *** previous studies,these have been left to the operating skills of the user,which is extremely difficult to *** this study,we demonstrate how stable and adaptive grasping can be achieved according to the object regardless of the user's operation *** required grasping technique is achieved by determining the correlation bet ween the motor output and each sensor through the interaction between the prosthetic hand and the surrounding stimuli,such as myoelectricity,sense of touch,and grasping *** agents of the 16 DOF robot hand were trained with the myoelectric signals of six participants,including one child with a congenital forearm ***,each agent could open and close the hand in response to the myoeletric stimuli and could accomplish the object pickup *** the tasks,the agents successfully identified grasping patterns suitable for practical and stable positioning of the *** addition,the agents were able to pick up the object in a similar posture regardless of the partiipant,suggesting that the hand was optimized by evolutionary computation to a posture that prevents the object from being dropped.
