We have developed the power assist suit HAL (Hybrid Assistive Leg) which provide the self-walking aid for gait disorder persons or aged persons. The power assist was performed according to the operator's intention by using myoelectricity(EMG) signal as the primary command signal. However, there remains the problem that the operator senses the discomfort while the power assist is performed by EMG-based control. The scope of the present research is to propose the control methods to reduce the discomfort which the operator sense while the EMG-based power assist is performed in walking and standing up respectively;1) the control method that the integrated motion between HAL-3 and the operator corresponds with the particularity of operator's musculo-skeletal system while in the power assist walking, 2)the predictive control method applying feedforward controller to remove the discomfort while in standing up. As the result, the power assist walking was performed corresponding to the joint kinematics of the normal walking without the assistance. Applying feedforward controller realized the quick response while in standing up power assist. These control methods enabled HAL-3 to realize the power assist that the operator sensed the reduce of discomfort.

Sports Science is an interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary science that strives to increase athletic performance and endurance. Sport Science recognizes and prevents injuries. Sensors and statistics formalize Sports Science. Runners need coaches and teams to support them before, during, and after the run race. Coaches generate running training plans to boost performance. Running race performances may be impacted by air pollution exposure while training, so coaches should consider limiting air pollution exposure when training. One of the external factors is Particulate Matter (PM2.5 and PM10). Sensors connecting to the Internet can record external factors and produce csv data. The foundation of supervised machine learning is the labeling process. Labeling a set of data is one of the laborious and time-consuming phases in every machine-learning application because it requires verifying the accuracy of the labels and making any necessary revisions. This research aimed to find a solution to automatically label numerous air particulate matter raw data using a rule based on parameters to reduce manual work, human errors and faster processes. This labeled data will later be used for supervised machine learning classification to support the coach in generating training programs for the runners in a Sports Information System. Based on Indonesia Air Quality index rule-based approach, labeled text data in csv has been generated and tested with PM2.5 and PM10 parameters in three scenarios with a 100% success rate. It was possible to automate the labeling process, and it explained how automation results in fast and accurate results. © 2023 IEEE.

Full-marathon and Half-marathon distances are categorized as road running. Full-marathon running is becoming increasingly popular, and Half-marathon is increasing worldwide in both sexes and all age groups. Some aspects might relate to Full-marathon and Half-marathon running performance during training and races. Technology also plays an essential role in supporting runners and running races. Technology like artificial intelligence (AI) now supports the running athlete, not only predicting performance and results. It can also be used later to help the coach generate training programs for the athlete. This research aimed to find many aspects of marathons and performance and analyze them to see if artificial intelligence could later support them. It used secondary data and a systematic literature review proposed by Kitchenham. Out of the 58 articles, 21 of them (36.21%) received a score of 1 from Q1. Additionally, 19 articles (32.76%) received a score of 1 from both Q2 and Q3. Among the 58 articles, 9 (15.52%) received a total score of 3, with all three Q1, Q2, and Q3 scores being 1. This indicates that artificial intelligence will likely support the content of these nine articles. Several factors were also discovered to be connected to marathons and athletic performance. These findings suggested that additional investigation into marathons and performance, later backed by artificial intelligence, remained pertinent and essential. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper investigates driverpsilas behavior of checking a traffic situation by analyzing driverpsilas eye movement when the driver is cognitively distracted during preparation of changing lanes. We made an experiment with a motion-based driving simulator under conditions of several types of secondary tasks. Collected data resulted in lower detection rates of intent of changing lanes, less checking behaviors and longer time length of checking behavior. These facts clarified that there are discrepancies between secondary tasks and no secondary one. It showed an influence of cognitively distracting activity on driverpsilas behavior.

The purpose of this research is to propose a quantitative analysis method to analyze the relationship between the feedforward controller and feedback controller in a motion learning process, and also to assess the effectiveness of this method by experiments. To analyze the mechanisms of the motion control systems, we propose: 1) a control gain identification method, 2) a squared-error separation method, 3) a gradient separation method, and 4) a pattern correlation method. The inverted pendulum is used to evaluate the effectiveness of these methods. Experiments show that the proposed methods are an effective way to separate the motor control system into feedforward control and feedback control. They also disclose the fact that there are two learning processes; one of which mainly performs feedback control and the other mainly feedforward control.

Mobile IP is the current standard for supporting global mobility, however the performance degrades to support micro mobility. Cellular IP could be a good solution to accommodate efficiently hundreds of, thousands of mobile hosts that perform fast and frequent handoff in a small local area network. In semisoft handoff of cellular IP, a mobile host sends a semisoft packet to the new base station before performing actual handoff to guarantee that the routing cache mapping associated with the new base station is created before actual handoff takes place. But packet loss and handoff delay are still occurred by this model. We propose an advanced semisoft handoff method with no packet loss but with additional small packet delay just before or after handoff. In this method, the cross-over node calculates the time for the last message to be delivered to the mobile host via the old base station just before handoff based on four typical network models. On receiving that packet, the mobile host performs handoff to the new base station. Our simulation experiment results show that the proposed semisoft handoff method actually outperforms the traditional semisoft handoff method in both handoff packet loss and handoff delay. We study the performance of the advanced semisoft handoff method with the network models.

In the modern era, an increasing number of diseases are emerging because of human lifestyle choices and bacterial transmission. Gastritis, characterized by inflammation in the stomach lining leading to frequent abdominal pain, is one such ailment. Recognizing the significance of addressing these health issues, there is a need for an expert system application specifically designed for diagnosing gastritis. The primary objective is to disseminate information to the public regarding the early symptoms of gastritis, promoting awareness from a young age. The research method used is the web-based Expert System Development Life Cycle (ESDLC). The diagnostic process employs the Certainty Factor (CF) method to ensure accurate results. By utilizing symptom CF values chosen by the user, the Certainty Factor approach facilitates a diagnosis based on calculations established by medical specialists. The research culminates in the development of an expert system application capable of accurately diagnosing the disease Android based. The accuracy rates for the first, second, and third test cases are reported as 98.848%, 99.8464%, and 99.99115264%, respectively. System testing, conducted through black-box testing, validates the application's functionality, demonstrating a 100% success rate for each component.

Diphtheria is an infectious disease that affects the upper respiratory system and throat, arising suddenly and caused by Corynebacterium diphtheriae. The symptoms of diphtheria such as fever, swollen neck and slimy nose are often interpreted as influenza or laryngitis. Diphtheria is a contagious and deadly disease that requires specialized and rapid treatment and care. In today's technological era, it can be overcome with a system that can diagnose diphtheria like a doctor's diagnosis ability commonly called an expert system. This study describes the application of an expert system to diagnose diphtheria disease. The research method used is the web-based Expert System Development Life Cycle (ESDLC). The method used to process input values is Forward Chaining. Fuzzy Tsukamoto to calculate the input value from the user. The research has been tested with Blackbox testing showing the results that the expert system works well and accuracy testing with 92% results. The results show effectiveness with a satisfactory level of accuracy in detecting diphtheria disease. This research contributes to the development of expert systems in the health sector with a focus on diagnosing diphtheria disease using a fuzzy logic approach.

Gastroenteritis is a common gastrointestinal disorder with varying degrees of severity, including cases without dehydration, mild dehydration, moderate dehydration, and severe dehydration. This research focuses on the development of a mobile-based expert system for detecting gastroenteritis, capable of distinguishing between these different dehydration levels. The methodology employed integrates the Extreme Structure Development Life Cycle (ESDLC) and the Best First Search algorithm. The expert system is designed to provide swift and accurate responses to users inputting symptoms, categorizing gastroenteritis cases based on the severity of dehydration. The application of ESDLC ensures a structured and organized development process, while the Best First Search method enhances the efficiency of the diagnostic process, facilitating timely and precise recommendations. Accessible through mobile platforms, the system allows users to input symptoms conveniently and receive rapid recommendations. Rigorous testing and evaluation affirm the system's high accuracy in discerning dehydration levels in gastroenteritis patients. In conclusion, the developed mobile-based expert system exhibits promising potential for advancing diagnostic services, particularly in the categorization of dehydration levels in gastroenteritis cases. The successful implementation of ESDLC and Best First Search paves the way for similar solutions in other healthcare domains, contributing positively to early and accurate disease management efforts. This innovation marks a significant stride towards improving healthcare technology for enhanced decision support in gastroenteritis diagnosis.

This study aims to analyze the reasons that motivate Brazilian companies to implement Quality Management systems, according to ISO 9001:2015 requirements. Based on information collected in the literature, a questionnaire was developed and answered by professionals that work with the mentioned standard in their companies. An Exploratory Factor Analysis was conducted with the collected data to group the validated variables into two constructs that present the most part of information variance. These constructs were entitled “internal improvements related motives” and “market related motives”. The findings of this research confirm and complement previous studies performed in Brazil and in other countries. © 2021 American Society for Quality.
