This research aims to construct a two-dimensional image to represent an underwater geometry map with a Side Scan Sonar (SSS) mounted on a Hybrid Autonomous Underwater Glider (HAUG). Building the underwater map has two stages of the process. The first stage is preprocessing which includes Time-varying gains (TVG), slant range correction, and ground range correction. The second is HAUG navigation, the movement of HAUG orientation to the angle and distance of SSS readings and plotting the geometry of the grid map. With these two stages, a two-dimensional grid map will be formed. Meanwhile, the 3D plot utilizes slant range and ground range correction to obtain the surface height of the bottom of the pool. From the experiments conducted to conduct mapping in the pool, two-dimensional and three-dimensional visual forms of the pool floor and pool walls were produced. The results of the estimated measurement of the width of the pool obtained 14.05 meters and the height of the pool 3.199 meters with an SSS beam angle of 58 degrees.

Using the net of factors (IoT) technology has led to a resurgence in improving intelligent farms. The capacity to music and reveal crops, animals, and different farm activities has advanced the performance of farming operations. Clever farms enjoy the blessings of connectivity, allowing farmers to be more informed and higher prepared for any ability issues. This increased connectivity has also opened the door for new security problems. This paper looks at intelligent farm IoT structures' usability and safety features. The paper investigates the overall protection levels of the systems and the various security measures that may be implemented as an excellent way to discover and guard in opposition to ability threats. It also evaluates the usability of the structures and assesses the extent of convenience it offers for agriculture employees. The paper also evaluates the present-day enterprise tendencies in IoT protection, value, and potential future trends. Ultimately, the paper gives insights into modern and future security and usability measures that may be taken to ensure the protection and effectiveness of clever farm IoT systems. The paper examines the usability and protection capabilities of innovative Farm Internet of Things (IoT) structures, which provide farmers with the potential to monitor, manipulate, and control various farm elements remotely. Usability functions consisting of user interfaces, device connectivity, and communication protocols are analyzed to evaluate how user-friendly the device is. Additionally, safety functions consisting of authentication, authorization, encryption, and getting entry to manage are tested to decide how the gadget can defend the statistics and assets of the farm. Moreover, this paper touches upon the contemporary and destiny-demanding situations related to those structures, including scalability, cost, and privacy. ultimately, the paper concludes with a comprehensive assessment of the usability and security functions and

This study aims to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of insect classification using spatial pyramid pooling convolutional neural networks (SPP-CNN). Improving traditional convolutional neural networks has resulted in poor performance when dealing with the diversity of insects and images of various sizes. The dataset, provided by a collaborating company, includes six different insect categories. Given the relatively limited number of samples in the existing dataset, we employed various data augmentation techniques to enrich our training samples, such as sharpening, adding noise, resizing, adjusting brightness, and randomly rotating images. Experiments demonstrate that SPP-CNN shows superior performance in insect classification tasks compared to efficientNetV2. The proposed architecture has achieved an accuracy rate of $83.8 \%$, which is $3.9 \%$ higher than the $79.9 \%$ accuracy of EfficientNetV2 architectures. This improvement indicates that incorporating the spatial pyramid pooling layer significantly enhances the accuracy of insect image classification. Moreover, the adaptability of SPP-CNN to various image resolutions without the need for retraining significantly boosts its practicality for real-world applications.

There are the following three steps to increase users of cutting-edge measurement instruments produced by university research: (1) providing information on their use at scientific conferences, (2) conducting collaborative research between the developers and users of the instruments, and (3) providing a contract measurement service to researchers wanting to use the instruments as needed. This research study aims to determine the criteria for selecting suitable operating organization handling contract measurement service above when it is located within or outside the university. As model cases, we investigated the following two types of businesses that operate university-owned instruments to provide measurement results: shared-use facilities for industry-academia collaborations operated by universities (university organizations) and university-launched companies (companies) performing outsourced services under an instrument-use agreement with the universities. We interviewed three university organizations and three companies about their challenges and success points in managing their organizations. A comparison of the interviews revealed that “maintenance of the organization,” “hiring human resources,” and “expanding customer base” are the criteria for selecting the two types of businesses.

This research develops an intelligent automatic production loading and unloading solution for a multi-process part. According to the posture required for each processing operation of each part, a novel gripper and carrier that can implement multi-position clamping are designed. The Beckhoff controller is adopted as the host controller in the control system to integrate the robotic arm (including the vision system), the automated guided vehicle (AGV), and the computer numerical control (CNC) machine. The main topic of this research is to meet the requirements of automatic loading and unloading in the processing of the entire production line. It will significantly reduce the workforce consumption of the processing production line and avoid human error, thereby improving processing reproducibility and product production stability.

Ceramic membrane support derived from spent bleaching earth (SBE) become a novel study due to their low-cost, sustainable features, abundance material, and there is not yet applicated as membrane. In this study, flat disk ceramic membrane configuration was fabricated and characterized from solid waste of crude palm oil bleaching process by pressing method in different SBE loading mass (38–42 %wt.). The SBE as raw material was deoiled using n-hexane and acetone solvent, followed by fabricated it become flat disk SBE membranes. Afterward, the SBE flat disk membranes was characterized through fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analyzer. The result exhibits the flat disk SBE ceramic membrane has dimension of 41 and 6 mm for diameter and thickness, respectively. SBE membranes indicating have montmorillonite structure due to presence of silica as main component materials of SBE. Besides that, the existence of siloxane vibration band in SBE membranes for the sample after regeneration with n-hexane and acetone were dominated over using raw SBE. It concludes the oil residue was removed and produced SBE membrane properties become robust with less organic contaminant. © 2023

This article introduces a novel methodology for enhancing the efficiency of cipher processes by employing Finite State Machines (FSMs) within the MATLAB environment. The primary focus of this research is to improve the speed of algorithms used for both substitution and transposition ciphers, which are essential components of cryptographic practices. Recognizing the critical importance of speed in cryptographic operations, this research emphasizes the optimization of these algorithms as a key objective. Traditional encryption methods often struggle with performance limitations; thus, this paper proposes a solution by integrating parallelism into both the encryption and decryption stages through FSMs. This strategy capitalizes on the computational capabilities of modern multi-core processors, allowing for more efficient execution of cryptographic tasks. The research delineates two main phases of the proposed methodology. The first phase centers on transposition ciphers, while the second phase focuses on substitution ciphers. Data encryption is carried out via a meticulously defined FSM-based procedure that alters the input data by substituting and transposing values in accordance with a specified cryptographic key. The concurrent execution of both phases results in a substantial decrease in processing time. Empirical findings indicate that the processing duration is under 1 second for data sizes ranging from 8 to 129 bits, while encrypting and decrypting 1 billion bits of data takes approximately 162 seconds. The improvements in processing speed and the adaptability of these methods highlight their potential as effective solutions for secure data processing applications, which encompass secure communication and the advancement of sophisticated cryptographic protocols.

The UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development has established commitments among Member States. These commitments are present in 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and 169 global action targets to be achieved up to 2030. Social inclusion, environmental sustainability and good governance are among these commitments, which make them impact the business sector, such as water consumption and women’s participation in the workforce and leadership positions. The present study proposes a hybrid ensemble-Machine Learning-Dominance-based Rough Set Approach (E-ML-DRSA) model in the assessment of risks in sustainability and performance of electric power distribution companies in Brazil. The study uses 62 indicators of sustainability and performance, considering the period of eight years. The proposed hybrid model enables a more effective risk management of companies with basis on previous and simulated data, higher performance classification algorithms (accuracy and sensitivity) and conditional risk matrix. © 2024, The Authors. Automatic Identification System (AIS) data contains static and dynamic information for identification, tracking, and collision avoidance of vessels, as well as management of maritime activities. In the utilization of AIS data, a data pipeline framework is needed which includes the process of capturing messages, translating messages, detecting data corruption, cleaning damaged data, reconstructing trajectories, visualizing data, and storing data for analysis needs. Usually, the analysis and storage of AIS data are done offline which makes it not conducive to understanding vessel dynamics. In addition, large AIS data contains incomplete and noisy information that affects the quality of the trajectory. In this context, this article has proposed an AIS data pipeline framework in the form of pre-processing and real-time trajectory reconstruction. Pre-processing is intended to eliminate data anomalies caused by transmission errors. While the trajectory reconstruction process to overcome missing values due to noise is based on the Cubic Spline interpolation technique. All processes in the data pipeline framework are streamed using Apache Kafka. The simulation results show that the proposed AIS data pipelines framework has succeeded in visualizing the data flow in the form of a map application and trajectory reconstruction in real-time.

In this proceeding, we present polarization data of sidebands emitted from strongly driven quasiparticles, demonstrate the dependence of these data on various parameters of the external driving field, and describe the data using an analytical expression, dependent on driving field parameters and the effective Hamiltonian of the system. We propose using this method on spin-momentum locked systems, such as altermagnets, to observe and reconstruct sidebands which are influenced by the topology of individual bands. © Optica Publishing Group 2024 © 2024 The Author(s)
