The Choi-state is an indispensable tool in the study and analysis of quantum channels. Considering a channel in terms of its associated Choi-state can greatly simplify problems. It also offers an alternative approach to the characterisation of a channel, with properties of the Choi-state providing novel insight into a channel's behaviour. The rank of a Choi-state, termed the Choi-rank, has proven to be an important characterising property, and here, its significance is further elucidated through an operational interpretation. The Choi-rank is shown to provide a universal bound on how successfully two agents, Alice and Bob, can perform an entanglementassisted exclusion task. The task can be considered an extension of super-dense coding, where Bob can only output information about Alice's encoded bit-string with certainty. Conclusive state exclusion, in place of state discrimination, is therefore considered at the culmination of the super-dense coding protocol. In order to prove this result, a necessary condition for conclusive k-state exclusion of a set of states is presented in order to achieve this result, and the notions of weak and strong exclusion are introduced. The concept of green building helps reduce the effects of global warming, and the availability of long-term natural resources and increases the service life of buildings as well as the use of Greenship as a rating system for its achievement. The effects of the Covid-19 pandemic and the increasing role of digital have made people no longer work in offices but have moved to cafes so that more and more cafes have switched or added functions to become cafes and co-working spaces, resulting in the need for adjustments to the construction and interior of buildings as well as additional services. To attract more visitors, a unique concept of transformation of local culture is needed. Local culture is born from local wisdom and in harmony with nature. This touch of local wisdom values can enhance the image. Local cultural potential in the form of Sasak bale architecture can be represented in the construction and interior of cafes and co-working spaces and utilizes local materials. This is in line with the initial goal of implementing green buildings in cafes and co-working spaces that are modern and minimalist but have local wisdom values. This design is a way of preserving local culture.

Moving objects detection is considered as one of the prime safety indicators in the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). For implementing on resource-limited embedded platforms and still yield sufficient frame rate and quality, the paper proposes a lightweight multi-head single shot detector (SSD) model that strengthens the moving object detection significantly. The paper also introduces focal loss method to deal with imbalance problem of detecting pedestrians and bikes in training datasets (vehicles, bikes, and pedestrians). Lastly, the proposed lightweight network can be deployed on low-power embedded devices to achieve real-time processing performance (512x256) yielding 30fps. © 2020 IEEE.

A Graphical Model for Fusing Diverse Microbiome Data

This paper develops a Bayesian graphical model for fusing disparate types of count data. The motivating application is the study of bacterial communities from diverse high dimensional features, in this case transcripts, collected from different treatments. In such datasets, there are no explicit correspondences between the communities and each correspond to different factors, making data fusion challenging. We introduce a flexible multinomial-Gaussian generative model for jointly modeling such count data. This latent variable model jointly characterizes the observed data through a common multivariate Gaussian latent space that parameterizes the set of multinomial probabilities of the transcriptome counts. The covariance matrix of the latent variables induces a covariance matrix of co-dependencies between all the transcripts, effectively fusing multiple data sources. We present a computationally scalable variational Expectation-Maximization (EM) algorithm for inferring the latent variables and the parameters of the model. The inferred latent variables provide a common dimensionality reduction for visualizing the data and the inferred parameters provide a predictive posterior distribution. In addition to simulation studies that demonstrate the variational EM procedure, we apply our model to a bacterial microbiome dataset.1 © 2022, CC BY.

This paper presents an analysis of the modeling of reactive power compensation using renewable energy from sunlight through photovoltaic to eliminate harmonic signals in the electricity network with a three-phase active power system filter. Electric energy supply comes from three-phase electricity sources in the form of a sinusoid. Non-linear loads such as electronic devices and electrical equipment connected to the grid generate harmonics signals;can make the format of electrical energy distorted. This nonlinear load draws electric current in the form of non-sinusoid. This format increases Total Harmonic Distortion (THD), thereby worsening the performance of electrical equipment. An active power filter is a very effective method in reducing harmonics signals and increasing the quality performance of electricity. This power filter works by injecting compensation current into the grid. The energy that is injected comes from the direct current output voltage (DC) of the photovoltaic link stored in the capacitor via a Voltage Source Inverter (VSI) switch. The compensation current has the same format as the harmonics current but differs in 180°. The main parts of this power filter include the Reference Signal Generating Unit, PI Controller, VSI Switch Signal Ignition Gate Generator, Energy Storage Circuit (Battery), and Photovoltaic. Simulation modeling using Matlab Simulink Tools to reduce THD levels by IEEE 519 standards. Simulation results show a significant decrease in Total Harmonic Distortion (THD), where the grid before compensation contains THD of 29.74% and after injection of 2.25%. So this modeling is worth proposing as an active filter in a power system. © 2020 IEEE.

Autonomous driving technology relies heavily on sensor data for environment perception. Heterogeneous sensors such as lidar, radar, and camera have their own strengths and limitations. Therefore, relying on any single sensor would restrict the effectiveness of autonomous driving technology. However, integrating data from such heterogeneous sensors poses challenges due to differences in their representations. This article outlines a deep learning network aimed at designing modality-agnostic multi-modal fusion architecture. We study sensor data from different modalities and learn fine-grained representations using modality-specific feature encoders independently. Then, a multimodal attention-based network (MMA-Net) is proposed to fuse the data from heterogeneous modalities. The proposed MMA-Net fuses multi-modal sensor data by jointly exploiting the inter-modality and intra-modality relationships among camera, lidar, and radar sensors. The effectiveness of the proposed multi-modal fusion architecture is demonstrated using 2-D object detection metrics through extensive experiments on a dataset generated using the CARLA simulator.

Using the net of factors (IoT) technology has led to a resurgence in improving intelligent farms. The capacity to music and reveal crops, animals, and different farm activities has advanced the performance of farming operations. Clever farms enjoy the blessings of connectivity, allowing farmers to be more informed and higher prepared for any ability issues. This increased connectivity has also opened the door for new security problems. This paper looks at intelligent farm IoT structures' usability and safety features. The paper investigates the overall protection levels of the systems and the various security measures that may be implemented as an excellent way to discover and guard in opposition to ability threats. It also evaluates the usability of the structures and assesses the extent of convenience it offers for agriculture employees. The paper also evaluates the present-day enterprise tendencies in IoT protection, value, and potential future trends. Ultimately, the paper gives insights into modern and future security and usability measures that may be taken to ensure the protection and effectiveness of clever farm IoT systems. The paper examines the usability and protection capabilities of innovative Farm Internet of Things (IoT) structures, which provide farmers with the potential to monitor, manipulate, and control various farm elements remotely. Usability functions consisting of user interfaces, device connectivity, and communication protocols are analyzed to evaluate how user-friendly the device is. Additionally, safety functions consisting of authentication, authorization, encryption, and getting entry to manage are tested to decide how the gadget can defend the statistics and assets of the farm. Moreover, this paper touches upon the contemporary and destiny-demanding situations related to those structures, including scalability, cost, and privacy. ultimately, the paper concludes with a comprehensive assessment of the usability and security functions and

Low head hydropower has the potential to produce green energy with a minimum on the environment and is one of the best choices for decentralized power plants. Aceh is one of many regions in Indonesia with hilly topography and many river streams. Of the 66 rivers in Aceh that have potential energy sources that can be developed 98.5 percent are low head. Generally, the technique for overcoming altitude problems in low river flows is the use of low head turbines. An important aspect of head power generation techniques is the selection of turbines. The study aimed to study low head propeller turbines for the use of micro hydropower plants. By calculating the main dimensions and main components of the turbine, field experiments were carried out to determine turbine rotation and energy, as well as turbine efficiency at a flow rate of 0.06 m3/sec and a 3.5-meter head. The calculation results obtained by a specific turbine speed of 1.53, runner diameter of 0.30 meters, hub diameter of 0.06 meters, shaft diameter 0.03, runner length 1.08, triangular speed of 30 degrees with the number of blades 4 pieces. From the results of field experiments, the maximum turbine rotation speed is 1828 rpm, the turbine power is 2,530 watts with a voltage between 220 to 240 volts while the maximum efficiency is 57 percent. It can be concluded that propeller-type turbines with the low head are suitable for micro power plants, especially in remote areas. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

This study presents a new method of installing non-vented pressure transducers with dataloggers to monitor river/streams stage in mountain areas. The installation was performed in the bedrock of the streams using a protective copper casing, next to streams natural control and without affecting their characteristics since it does not require infrastructure. This allowed the installation of 18 pressure transducers in areas with mining influence, urban and natural protected areas, among others. The results obtained show that the risks of damage to the pressure transducer due to extreme floods or vandalism are significantly reduced, and that it is possible to build monitoring stations using the natural section/channel controls or structure controls. The proposed method considerably reduces infrastructure and maintenance costs for stage monitoring, making it feasible to install in mountain rivers and streams with similar characteristics to those presented in this study. © 2023, The Authors. Due to the physiological constraints and daily habits of hand movements, the wrist chattering effect (WCE) will inadvertently cause disturbance to the accuracy of fingers’ pattern recognition, when healthy subjects or amputees undergoing mirror training control their fingers according to instructions. This paper proposes a method for estimating WCE angles using a disturbance observer. Based on the Denavit-Hartenberg (D-H) convention and inverse kinematics, the intervals of the WCE during finger flexion and extension are determined. The research objective is to eliminate disturbance terms containing redundant information referring to sliding mode anti-jittering methods, making subsequent machine learning models less susceptible to disturbances.
