Photocopying machines are machines that make paper copies of documents and other visual images quickly and cheaply. PT. TRITANU has a copy machine product, such as the Fotocpy Sharp machine Type B201D. The rapid development of photocopying technology at this time can be seen that adult photocopying machines are now not only operating copier but can scan, print, and even fax. The rapid development of photocopying technology does not necessarily provide complete convenience to users. This can be seen from the high cost of consultation in the event of damage to the photocopy machine, requiring time to check the damaged machine, and not to mention other procedures in the repair that exist at PT. TRANANU. So from to provide solutions to these problems, the researchers made an Expert System for Handling Print Results Problems on Sharp Photocopying Machines Type B201D Using the Certainty Factor Method. System testing shows that the system is able to diagnose damage to the B201D copy machine based on the symptoms in the printout, even though these symptoms contain uncertainty. The results of the diagnosis are accompanied by Certainty Factor values that indicate the level of truth, accuracy of possible damage to the B201D copy machine.

Implementation of Neuron Network model using Perceptron has not given optimal result in real time learning. The large number of inputs expressed in matrix form makes the process slower in pattern recognition. So, it takes characteristic to represent all the input matrices by using the partition method. By partitioning each input and with the best weight and using the activation function will produce an output value. And learning is valid in recognizing patterns only 1 iteration only. Further validation is done on the water mill control module with dissolved oxygen input, water pH, salinity and water temperature. With Perceptron Partition learning algorithm more real-time than perceptron model. Testing on the waterwheel input whether rotating or stopping by Matrix Laboratory software simulation.

In this research, the transient characteristics of a new type fuel metering system for aircraft turbofan engines using two types of pumps, a gear pump and a centrifugal pump, were studied by modelling and simulation. This new fuel metering system is capable of hydraulically unloading the operating state of each pump by the pump mode switching mechanism within the permissible range of the pump rotation speed and the fuel flow rate and it is possible to reduce the fuel temperature rise due to the pressure loss in the circuit in the operation region of the entire fuel system. In addition to this, by using a small centrifugal pump that can realize high discharge flow rate, it is possible to reduce weight compared to the conventional fuel system. However, when the pump mode is switched, unexpected fluctuation in the fuel flow rate can occur when a large change in the inlet pressure of the system occurs, the pressure control unit cannot follow the change, and the transient phenomenon cannot be suppressed. At this time, the pressure waveform generated at the time of changing the pump mode includes a high frequency component such that the pressure control unit, which plays a role of keeping the metering valve differential pressure constant, cannot follow up. Therefore, in this paper, we focused on the frequency of the pressure change waveform when the pump mode was changed and studied the model of the fuel system inlet pressure in the gear pump mode. Based on that model, we propose a method to reduce the frequency characteristics of the pressure change occurring at the time of pump mode change.

Recently, a modified data hiding scheme based on pixel value differencing and improving exploiting modification directions is proposed by Shen and Huang. There are two major contributions in this scheme. One is to enhance the embedding rate and good embedding capacity and the other is an optimization problem used to solve the overflow/ underflow problem. In fact, they propose the similar brute force method to solve overflow/underflow problem in their proposed scheme. To overcome the overflow/underflow problem exactly, we will propose the close form to solve this problem in this paper. Then, an improvement data hiding scheme based on FFEMD (Formula Fully Exploiting Modification Directions) and pixel value differencing method is proposed. According to our analysis, it is not only to keep the advantages of Shen-Huang scheme but also to use the close form to solve the overflow/ underflow problem. © 2016 IEEE.

Objectives: The 12-item Self-Compassion Scale–Short Form (SCS–SF) is a widely used instrument for the assessment of self-compassion. To date, there have been few examinations of this instrument’s psychometric properties, particularly across nations and languages. Therefore, we used data from the Body Image in Nature Survey (BINS) to assess measurement invariance of the SCS–SF across nations, languages, gender identities, and age groups. Methods: Participants (N = 56,968) from 65 nations completed the SCS–SF in 40 languages. Using these data, we tested various hypothesised models of the SCS–SF in the total sample and, using multi-group confirmatory factor analysis, tested for invariance of the optimal model across national groups, languages, gender identities, and age groups. Results: In the total dataset, we found that an 11-item, 2-factor model (i.e., SCS-11) provided best fit to the data, with the two factors tapping distinct constructs of compassionate and uncompassionate self-responding. The SCS-11 was found to be partially scalar invariant across national groups and languages, and fully scalar invariant across gender identities and age groups. There was wide variation in latent means for the two factors, particularly across national groups and languages. Further analyses showed negligible associations between the two factors and sociodemographic variables, including marital status, financial security, and urbanicity. Conclusions: Our results suggest that it may be possible to derive a stable 2-factor model of the SCS–SF for use in cross-cultural research, but also highlight the likelihood of cross-national and cross-linguistic variations in the way that self-compassion is understood. © The Author(s) 2025.

In secret image sharing schemes, all legal participants provide legitimate shared images and then they can extract the correct secret message. Recently, Wu et al. proposed a high quality data hiding secret sharing scheme with authentication ability. The major contribution of this scheme maintains good stego image quality while being able to verify secret message integrity. However, to ensure the process can work, the secret image’s pixel values larger than 250 must be changed to 250 for Wu’s scheme. Otherwise, extracting the secret image may fail. In other words, for a secret image, a few errors do not make the big difference but it could be distorted severely for some sensitive secrets. In order to improve this shortcoming, a secret image sharing scheme based on General Multi-Exploiting Modification Direction (GMEMD) data hiding technology will be proposed in this paper. According to simulation results and analysis, we can show that the stego image quality in Wu et al.’s scheme or our proposed scheme is larger than 43dB. We also demonstrate the authentication capability to find unauthorized participants. Furthermore, if all participants are legitimate, then the proposed scheme can extract the secret completely without any distortion. © Springer International Publishing Switzerland 2016.

EDITOR'S SUMMARY Mexico's political history has seen several parties rise and fall in the 21st century, and amidst the many transitions, the Mexican people have seen a divide growing in their society. This divide covers many areas, such as economic standing, access to healthcare and education, and access to digital technology. The digital divide means that access to internet service and smartphones is often limited to the affluent. However, access to technology is just one aspect of the digital divide. Citizens also require training and education in how to use the technology and where to access information. Currently, the vast majority of internet users in Mexico are 24 years of age and younger, meaning that older generations need the access and education in technology use. With more Mexican citizens given access to technology, more can actively participate in government and create a government that they deserve.

Animations of American Sign Language (ASL) can make information accessible for many signers with lower levels of English literacy. Automatically synthesizing such animations is challenging because the movements of ASL signs often depend on the context in which they appear, e.g., many ASL verb movements depend on locations in the signing space the signer has associated with the verb s subject and object. This paper presents several techniques for automatically synthesizing novel instances of ASL verbs whose motion-path and hand-orientation must accurately reflect the subject and object locations in 3D space, including enhancements to to prior state-of-The-Art models. Using these models, animation generation software could produce an infinite variety of indicating verb instances. Using a corpus of motion-capture recordings of multiple performances of eight ASL indicating verbs, we modeled the signer s hand locations and orientations during each verb, dependent upon the location in the signing space where the subject and object were positioned. In a user study, ASL signers watched animations that included verbs synthesized from these models, and we found that they had similar quality to those produced by a human animator. © SLPAT 2015 - 6th Workshop on Speech and Language Processing for Assistive Technologies, Proceedings.

Advancing the automatic synthesis of linguistically accurate and natural-looking American Sign Language (ASL) animations from an easy-To-update script would increase information accessibility for many people who are deaf by facilitating more ASL content to websites and media. We are investigating the production of ASL grammatical facial expressions and head movements coordinated with the manual signs that are crucial for the interpretation of signed sentences. It would be useful for researchers to have an automatic scoring algorithm that could be used to rate the similarity of two animation sequences of ASL facial movements (or an animation sequence and a motioncapture recording of a human signer). We present a novel, sign-language specific similarity scoring algorithm, based on Dynamic Time Warping (DTW), for facial expression performances and the results of a user-study in which the predictions of this algorithm were compared to the judgments of ASL signers. We found that our algorithm had significant correlations with participants comprehension scores for the animations and the degree to which they reported noticing specific facial expressions. © SLPAT 2015 - 6th Workshop on Speech and Language Processing for Assistive Technologies, Proceedings.
