This research explores the behavioral process of consumers choosing cultural and creative hotels based on AIDA theory. The research subject were the potential consumers of cultural and creative hotels, using snowball sampling to collect data, a total of 372 questionnaires distributed, and a total of 362 valid questionnaires, with an effective rate of 97.3%. The results are as follows: 1. Consumers' cognition of cultural and creative hotels can be divided into three major factors: the aesthetic feeling of cultural and creative hotels is the strongest, the cultural connotation is the second, and the price is the third. 2. Consumers are more interested in the cultural and creative hotels they prefer, and the atmosphere brought by the cultural and creative hotels relatively will have a higher desire to stay. Consumers are often affected by event promotions in their final choice of accommodation. 3. Through AIDA theory, this study verified that consumers' cognition of cultural and creative hotels could positively increase their interest in accommodation, thereby increasing their desire for accommodation and influencing consumers to take positive actions towards cultural and creative hotels. Finally, according to the findings, the study provides relevant suggestions for the management of cultural and creative hotel operators. © 2022 IEEE.

Assessment of alternative banking systems is a difficult problem with multiple and conflicting criteria. This study proposes a multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) model for evaluating alternative social banking systems (with no interest charges) using a T-Spherical fuzzy Decision-Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL) called TOP-DEMATEL. First, a comprehensive literature review determines the factors affecting the performance of alternative systems. An analysis is carried out with the help of the T-Spherical fuzzy TOP-DEMATEL approach to determine the importance weights of the factors under consideration. The alternative social banking systems with no interest charges are designed to minimize the negative effects of interest on the economy. The causality analysis shows that the effective risk analysis and employment of qualified personnel were the most effective criteria on all other factors. In addition, the improvement of the technological infrastructure is also affected by all other factors. Effective risk analysis is determined as the most important criterion for the performance of the alternative banking system. In this context, a comprehensive risk analysis is required for the success of the new alternative banking system. © 2023 The Author(s)

Models of brand equity. A systematic and critical review

Many methods have been developed since the 1980s to measure Brand Equity (BE). These methods range from theoretical and pragmatic approaches to qualitative methods that determine the rankings of remembrance, emotionality, and valuation based on the likelihood of purchasing a good, or service. The goal of this systematic review was to identify gaps in the literature and provide recommendations for future research by analyzing and summarizing the available data on models used to quantify BE. A systematic search of Dialnet, Ebsco, Google Scholar, Isi We of Knowledge, Redalyc, Science Direct, Scopus, Scielo, and Web of Science was performed using PRISMA principles. Of the 551 abstracts screened, only 23 met inclusion criteria. The review showed that no model allows for a comprehensive evaluation of BE. This makes it easier for us to understand and recognize their benefits, and drawbacks. Although there are many variations, none has been adequately verified to be reliably quantified. The combination of variables between the models indicates that the measurement does not produce an agreement between the theoretical and pragmatic. Everybody tries to appreciate the intangible, yet they all overlook branding messaging. Our findings shows that a thorough proposal incorporating a model that enables the inclusion of both tangible and intangible BE factors is required.

Race-Based Experiences and Coping as Predictors of BIPOC Mental Health Provider Burnout and Stress During COVID-19

The current study evaluated work- and client-related burnout, perceived stress, and race-based stress with a focus on Black, Indigenous, or Persons of Color (BIPOC) mental health providers. An online survey (n = 82) was distributed in the United States between July 17, 2020, and November 5, 2020. Demographic variables, racial discrimination during coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), perceived stress, and the coping variables were assessed. The majority of respondents were women (85%), BIPOC identifying (72%), aged 25 to 34 years (43%), psychologists (50%), and had been practicing for 9 years. In total, 68% and 27% of providers reported moderate to severe work- and client-related burnout, respectively. Another 87% reported moderate to high stress. Factors associated with a higher level of burnout include being younger, having fewer years of experience, and being a social worker or family therapist. Among BIPOC providers, greater experiences of racial discrimination were associated with higher work-related burnout and stress. Greater use of maladaptive coping was associated with higher burnout and stress, yet we found no associations with the use of adaptive coping. Racial discrimination during COVID-19 was significantly associated with work-related burnout and perceived stress within a sample of predominantly BIPOC mental health providers. These findings reinforce the need for more focused support for mental health providers to ensure a healthy and resilient future workforce.

Can a supplier benefit from investing in transaction-specific investments? A multilevel model of the value co-creation ecosystem perspective

Purpose This paper aims to build and empirically test a multilevel framework integrating transaction cost economics and a resource-based view into a value co-creation ecosystem perspective to explain the chain- and firm-level effects of transaction-specific investments (TSIs) on supplier performance. Design/methodology/approach This paper investigates cross-level network effects using survey data from theList of Taiwanese Central Satellite Production Systems. A total of 34 buyers (hub firms) and 106 suppliers (satellite firms) from 34 supply chains responded to the survey. Findings Findings confirm that individual firms' TSIs can foster co-specificity at the supply chain level, thereby improving supply chain integration (SCI). SCI can have a positive cross-level moderating effect on the TSI-performance relationship. Research limitations/implications These two key concepts, value co-creation and co-specificity, extend the theoretical application of transaction cost theory and the resource-based view to cross-level study by contributing to the research on the TSI-performance relationship. Practical implications This study's framework is a counter to the buyer-supplier-supplier relationships in which each actor who may have different goals can create value jointly and share benefits from their TSIs. Social implications Owing to high co-specificity, being embedded in a well-integrated supply chain can be a threat when the environment is turbulent;for losing strategic flexibility, co-specificity and embeddedness may result in a collective adaptation concern. High degrees of SCI may slow the reaction to environmental turbulence for both buyers and suppliers. Originality/value Individual firms' TSIs can foster co-specificity at the supply chain level, subsequently enhancing SCI. Blockchain (BLC) and the Internet of Things (IoT) are two emerging technologies that have become popular among practitioners for improving the transparency, adaptability, and safety of any industry. This is especially critical for food security, as COVID-19 highlighted the vulnerability of food supply chain (FSC). However, Indian organizations are experiencing problems in implementing the integrated form of BLC-IoT due to limited knowledge and insufficient research. The current study aims to propose a conceptual framework to reduce the impact of adoption barriers against BLC-IoT in FSC. Thirteen key barriers were identified after a thorough literature review and consultation with experts. The relationship among barriers was established using Inter-pretive structural modeling (ISM) and Decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory (DEMATEL) methods. The analysis shows that the lack of government regulation and workers' low competency significantly influence BLC-IoT adoption. The results also indicate the intricacy of decision-making by demonstrating that 9 of the 13 barriers were a part of the linkage cluster. The study outcome will help practitioners in developing and planning stra-tegies for effective adoption of BLC-IoT in FSC.

The issues of the food safety, the increasing globalization of food production, and the perceived food risks have raised consumer’s doubt about the industrial food system and changed consumer’s purchasing habits. That is resulting in the emerging food system that food produced and consumed locally. The short supply food chain and transparent procedure could enhance food quality. The basis of the local food system is the face-to-face relationship between producers and consumers. However, there are many different concepts in the literature that explain the local food system. The purpose of this study is the concept of local food systems and ‘Local Consumption of Locally Produced, LCLP’ from the restaurant manager’s perspective. This study will conduct a review of literature related to the local food system and the ‘Locavore’, and through personal interviewing, focus groups, to understand ‘LCLP’, as well as conceptualize comprise production, consumption, and management dimensions. This research is based on the teaching unit of the "Employee Recruitment" in the "Human Resource Management" course supported by the digital teaching platform. Using SPOC online teaching combined with the practice of flipping classroom teaching mode to evaluate and reflect on teaching effectiveness, through four semesters and four professional departments, the teaching of more than 700 students. Through the implementation of this teaching model, from the questionnaire analysis of teaching satisfaction, it is found that it is enough to promote teacher-led, student-centered teaching and learning. At the same time, it can strength the application function of digital teaching platform, and enhance the learning interaction between teachers and students. In order to improve the quality of teaching and solve the lack of online teaching, this article is expected to provide reference for the majority of educators.

Fossil fuels are currently the most significant energy sources. They are expected to become less available and more expensive, leading to a great demand for energy conservation and alternative energy sources. As a sustainable and renewable energy source, Biomass has piqued interest in generating bioenergy and biofuels over recent years. The thermal conversion of biomass through pyrolysis is an easy, useful, and low-cost process that can be applied to a wide variety of feedstocks. Pyrolysis characteristics of different feedstock samples can be analyzed and examined through thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). TGA has been an essential tool and widely used to investigate the thermal characteristics of a substance under heating environments, such as thermodegradation dynamics and kinetics. Studying the potential of waste biomass for generating sustainable bioenergy carves a pathway into a circular bioeconomy regime, and can help tackle our heavy reliance on nonrenewable energy sources. This study aims to give a deep insight into the wide use of TGA in aiding in the research and development of pyrolysis of different waste biomass sources. The thermal characteristics portrayed by different biomass wastes through TGA are discussed. The effects of significant pyrolysis operating parameters are also illustrated. A more comprehensive understanding of evolved products during the pyrolysis stage can be gained by combining TGA with other analytical methods. The pros and cons of using TGA are also outlined. Overall, an indepth literature review helps identify current trends and technological improvements (i.e., integrating artificial intelligence) of TGA use with pyrolysis.
