Due to its benefits in terms of enhancing and redefining the actual manner of performing activities in this field, artificial intelligence is swiftly changing the reality of the accounting business. Accounting has seen a significant transformation over the years as computers, first and foremost, and more importantly, developers ready to spend less time on laborious work that minimises the amount of errors, have replaced the job done with paper and pencil. Although there has always been a fascination with artificial intelligence systems in this field, attention has recently shifted more toward it. Although technology has advanced, it seems that there aren’t enough facts to back up businesses’ readiness to include artificial intelligence systems into their accounting procedures. A crucial element of this reality is also the ability of professionals to quickly adjust to the new business climate, get the skills required to work with AI systems, and overcome their fear of losing their jobs. The requirements of the financial society, the quick development of data innovation, and artificial intelligence have brought about the modern era. Implementing artificial intelligence innovation is an unavoidable trend that will result in substantial changes and advancements in the accounting sector. In this essay, the usage of AI in the accounting industry is examined, its effects on the sector’s expansion are examined, and significant solutions to current issues are suggested.

A network with no infrastructure, multiple hops, and dispersed nodes called a MANET. Nodes can communicate directly or through intermediaries without the need for permanent infrastructure. In dynamic networks like MANETs, routing procedures enhance the overall appearance of the network by ensuring Quality of Service (QoS). A routing protocol may use a composite routing measure to determine the best path for transferring data. Optimal location-based routing for MANETs based on energy-awareness is presented in this paper. Optimal routes are selected using this fast algorithm. Particle swarm optimization (PSO) is used instead of location-aided routing to select the normal data transmission route. Last but not least, the network is tested by simulating its packet delivery ratio, its energy level, its delay, and its overhead.

Water quality in rivers is deteriorating in urban and rural areas due to natural and anthropogenic factors. Understanding how changes and factors affect river water quality is crucial for managing water quality in river basins. This review focuses on analyzing key factors affecting water quality, and the temporal and spatial variations of water quality in rivers flowing in rural and urban areas. Natural processes such as weathering of rocks, evapotranspiration, atmospheric deposition, climate change, and natural disasters cause changes in the quality of river water. Anthropogenic factors could stem from industrial effluents, domestic activities, and agricultural activities such as the application of fertilizers, manures, pesticides, animal husbandry activities, irrigation practices, deforestation, and aquaculture. The seasonal variations in river water quality are discussed, and land use or cover could affect water quality parameters in a negative or positive way. In addition to traditional contaminants such as biodegradable organic matter, heavy metals, and pathogens, emerging and persistent pollutants such as organochlorine pesticides (OCPs), polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs), and phamaceutic active compounds (PhACs) has been found in many rivers, which could pose a threat to human and animal health. The comparison of key factors and parameters in urban and rural areas is also clarified, which provides authorities and policymakers with a deep understanding and supports decision-making in sustainable water management. © 2023 The Authors

The rotation of a ship’s propeller can accelerate the water flow around it,which puts pressure on seabed *** pressure on the seabed can significantly trigger erosion and sedimentation of coastal *** the impact that can be caused,the ship’s propeller rotation limit needs to be determined to avoid damage to the aquatic *** research determines the threshold of ship propeller rotation based on the water flow velocity *** has been carried out at the Hydrodynamics Laboratory on several variations of propeller rotation R_(rmp)(r/min)and water depth using empirical approaches,numerical simulations,and scale model *** based on general standard criteria for erosion and sedimentation shows that a propeller with a diameter(D_(p))of 1.5 m is safe for propeller rotation at 25 r/min at all water ***,the propeller rotation of 75 r/min is safe for a distance between the propeller axis and the bottom of the water equal to D_(p).Meanwhile,rotation at 120 r/min is safe at a minimum distance of 1.5 D_(p),and 230 r/min is safe for a minimum distance of 2.0 D_(p).The propeller rotation threshold criteria are essential to determining the new under-keel clearance for environmentally friendly ship *** values vary based on seabed particle type and water depth.

The use of Moringa Oleifera Seed Powder as Coagulant to Improve the Quality of Wastewater and Ground Water

Wastewater and ground water treatment are mostly using Polyaluminum Chloride (PAC), a synthetic coagulant, which possess health risk and require expensive cost. This research was carried out to observe the effect of Moringa oleifera seed as natural coagulant to replace synthetic coagulant. M. oleifera reduced 98.6% turbidity of wastewater, 10.8% of its conductivity, 11.7% of its BOD and removed its metal contents (Cd, Cr, Mn). When applied to ground water, M. oleifera removed the turbidity of ground water as much as 97.5%, while reduced the conductivity and BOD of ground water 53.4% and 18%, respectively. The use of M. oleifera also reduced total number of coliform. The advantage of using M. oleifera is that it does not reduce pH as PAC, hence does not require further treatment to adjust pH of the treated water.

The chemical screening of an octocoral identifed as Junceella fragilis has led to the isolation of five chlorinated briarane-type diterpenoids, including three known metabolites, gemmacolide X (1), frajunolide I (2), and fragilide F (3), along with two new analogs, 12α-acetoxyfragilide F (4) and 12α-acetoxyjunceellin (5). Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis was carried out to determine the absolute configurations of 1 and 2, while the structures of new compounds 4 and 5 were ascertained with 2D NMR experiments. Briaranes 1 and 3-5 were active in enhancing alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activity. © 2024 The Royal Society of Chemistry.

Smart computing has been particularly notable in the development of wireless sensor networks (WSNs), which have many applications. Battery-powered, self-configuring sensor nodes are the basis of these networks. Energy and resources are limited when it comes to sensors. Unbalanced nodes in the network consume more power, which adversely affects the network’s lifespan. An improved energy-efficient cluster-based routing protocol for heterogeneous wireless sensor networks (WSNs) based on the Internet of Things is proposed in this study. Several performance metrics were used to evaluate the proposed model’s effectiveness, including energy efficiency, alive nodes, dead nodes, network lifetime, and residual energy. The results of the comparison were compared with existing methodologies, such as LEACH, PSO, and hybrid PSO. The proposed approach outperforms the existing model by a substantial margin in networks with 50 and 100 nodes, according to the simulation results.

Current status of sustainability of Belawan Port toward SDG program

Belawan Port is one of the main ports in Indonesia whose role and function are important in the national logistics system. Belawan Port is a gateway for the Province of North Sumatra. The port must have sustainability in carrying out its role and function as transportation and economic infrastructure. In this research, Belawan Port sustainability will be evaluated from several aspects or dimensions, namely ecology, economy, social culture, technology, and institutions and law. Belawan port sustainability analysis using the Multidimensional Scaling method, using the modified Rapfish program. The analysis is carried out on five dimensions and 49 attributes/factors, which are used as a reference in the SDGs program. Not every SDG will be relevant for every business, however, every SDG should be considered. SDGs no.4 and no.5 are not directly related to port management activities, while SDGs no.8,9,11,14,17 are directly related. From the analysis obtained Ecology sustainability index = 48.38 (less-sustainable), Economic sustainability index = 42.89 (Less-Sustainable), Socio-Cultural sustainability index = 52.47 (Fair-Sustainable), Technological sustainability index = 54.11 (Fair-Sustainable), Institutional and Legal sustainability index = 50.74 (Fair-Sustainable). With policy and program interventions, the sustainability of the existing Belawan Port in the short term can be improved to be fair-sustainable for all dimensions (ecology, economy, social & culture, technology, Institution & Law) evaluated.
