Successful adaptation of invasive crayfish influence by environmental factors and biological factors, especially reproduction. Therefore needed important to collect and evaluate crayfish biology data, particularly the length, reproduction, and selectivity parameter. This parameter is also helpful in data-poor management in fisheries because it can be connected to management's tactical strategy. The invasive crayfish data collect in 5 five locations in Java island, i.e., Cirebon, Semarang, Surabaya, Yogyakarta, and Cilacap. SPR analysis using application link to http://***/lbspr after maturity, size capture, and length-frequency analysis. The result of these research shows average length in Cirebon (71 ±18,38), in Semarang (53 ±0,00), in Surabaya (83 ±3,54), in Yogya (87,5 ±15,91), and Cilacap (65 ±6,36) mm. Spawning potential ratio in Cirebon 68%, in Semarang 37%, in Surabaya 100%, in Yogyakarta 81%, and Cilacap 0,62%, with the total average in five-station is 62%. The first maturity at 50% population, Selectivity length (50%) in Cirebon 38,72 mm, Semarang 49,68 mm, Surabaya 37,96 mm, Yogya 37,68 mm and Cilacap 42,29 mm. SPR result that more than 40% shown that successfully spawning in Java relatively high and spread, and adaptation is also going well. The distribution in wild habitat potential influences native species, and it even causes extinction. Therefore it is necessary to prepare management steps to protect native species from invasive crayfish.

The Pongkor post-mining area is designated as one of the ecotourism areas in Bogor. This area has biodiversity of flora and fauna. This study aims to: (1) analysis the importance value index (IVI) of flora types; (2) analysis species richness index, species diversity index, and relative species abundance index; (3) analysis the beauty, the uniqueness and the rarity of the flora and fauna types. The method used in this research is quantitative descriptive. Based on the identification results, 185 species of flora are distributed in this region. During the rainy season, 15 species of herpetofauna were identified, 32 types of aves, and 4 types of mammals, while in the dry season 19 species of herpetofauna were identified, 23 types of aves, and 2 types of mammals. Based on the results of the analysis conducted on these flora and fauna, there are flora species that have high IVI values and some beautiful and unique flora species that are in the category of endangered species. Besides that, there are also fauna species which have a value of species richness index, species diversity index, and relative species abundance index, as well as some beautiful, unique, and fauna species that are in the category of endangered species.

Mangroves represent intricate and ever-changing ecosystems, exhibiting fluctuations in water level, salinity, and nutrient (such as NPK) availability as well as a wide array of unique bacterial communities. Microbial interactions in different components (e.g., tree roots) of the mangrove ecosystem are crucial to understand the ecosystem functioning for potential application in pollution mitigation and agricultural production. This study aimed to isolate phosphate-solubilizing bacteria (PSB) from the rhizosphere sediment of mangrove (Avicennia sp.) in terms of heavy metals (HMs) and salinity tolerance as well as plant growth promoting (PGP) traits, where the effective PSB were used on Brassica chinensis for their seed priming and growth under salinity stress. The effective two PSB isolates were identified by 16S rRNA, where JKD01 and JKD02 were closely related (99%) to Enterobacter cloacae (OQ271412) and Kocuria rhizophila (OQ271413), respectively. Both the strains exhibited phosphate solubilization, IAA, NH_3, and EPS production ability as well as HMs resistant ability where, E. cloacae (OQ271412) and K. rhizophila (OQ271413), are effectively remove the Cu from the water with 33.23% and 27.54%, respectively. The FTIR results showed functional group shifts (carboxyl, phosphate, and amino) in Cu-treated bacterial biomass and intracellular Cu presence, indicating the involvement of Cu in the bio-sorption and intracellular bioaccumulation process, respectively. The findings suggested PSB tolerance to salinity and HMs are present in mangroves, making them a valuable source for isolating effective bacteria to reduce stress in plants, lower HMs accumulation in mangroves, and aid in the bioremediation of HMs-contaminated environments. © 2023

Biomass is an organic substance widely available in nature as a fresh or a waste material considered renewable energy that aligns with the zero-carbon scheme to reduce the dependency on fossil fuels. However, after conversion, biomass's physical or chemical properties highly affect biofuel characteristics. A variety of instruments can be used to figure out biofuel reactivity. Considering commonly adopted instruments, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) is a simple, fast, and efficient way to determine biofuel properties and reactivity. The TGA method has the capability to analyze the biofuel properties (proximate analysis: moisture, volatile matter, fixed carbon, and ash) and combustion features of biomass (such as ignition, reactivity, etc). Most importantly, the TG curvatures (TGA and DTG) reveal the behavior of the biofuel during the thermodegradation process. As a consequence, the quality and quantity analyses on the biofuel properties and reactivity can be investigated comprehensively. Moreover, some TGA integration with artificial intelligence (AI) has been studied to better understand biofuel management and technology for future development. The outcome for the TGA-AI integration may obtain an excellent result with the fit quality value R 2 >95 %. This study aims to comprehensively review relevant research using TGA to analyze the lignocellulosic biofuel properties and reactivity. Moreover, the discussion in this study is extended to perspective, challenges, and future work.

Neuro-inflammation involves distinct alterations of microglial phenotypes, containing nocuous pro-inflammatory M1-phenotype and neuroprotective anti-inflammatory M-phenotype. Currently, there is no effective treatment for modulating such alterations. M1/M2 marker of primary microglia influenced by Melatonin were detected via qPCR. Functional activities were explored by western blotting, luciferase activity, EMSA, and ChIP assay. Structure interaction was assessed by molecular docking and LIGPLOT analysis. ER-stress detection was examined by ultrastructure TEM, calapin activity, and ERSE assay. The functional neurobehavioral evaluations were used for investigation of Melatonin on the neuroinflammation in vivo. Melatonin had targeted on Peroxisome Proliferator Activated Receptor Delta (PPARδ) activity, boosted LPS-stimulated alterations in polarization from the M1 to the M2 phenotype, and thereby inhibited NFκB-IKKβ activation in primary microglia. The PPARδ agonist L-165,041 or over-expression of PPARδ plasmid (ov-PPARδ) showed similar results. Molecular docking screening, dynamic simulation approaches, and biological studies of Melatonin showed that the activated site was located at PPARδ (phospho-Thr256-PPARδ). Activated microglia had lowered PPARδ activity as well as the downstream SIRT1 formation via enhancing ER-stress. Melatonin, PPARδ agonist and ov-PPARδ all effectively reversed the above-mentioned effects. Melatonin blocked ER-stress by regulating calapin activity and expression in LPS-activated microglia. Additionally, Melatonin or L-165,041 ameliorated the neurobehavioral deficits in LPS-aggravated neuroinflammatory mice through blocking microglia activities, and also promoted phenotype changes to M2-predominant microglia. Melatonin suppressed neuro-inflammation in vitro and in vivo by tuning microglial activation through the ER-stress-dependent PPARδ/SIRT1 signaling cascade. Application of high temperature superconducting wire to magnetostrictive transducers for underwater sonar

The research presented here was conducted while he was employed at American Superconductor Coporation where he held both technical and program management positions. While there Dr. Joshi managed the development of several demonstration products including the sonar transducer presented here. He holds M.S. and Sc.D. degreesfrom the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a B.S. degree from the Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He has worked in several diverse fields including solar energy fluidized bed technology and superconductivity. His work on stochastic analysis of solar insolation was recognized by the ASME and his doctoral research was accorded international recognition for its unique contribution to understanding quenching in superconducting magnets. Dr. Joshi has numerous patents and more than thirty-five technical publications to his credit. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Massachusetts and an active member of ASME and IEEE. He is a co-founder and treasurer of the New England Chapter of the Cryogenics Society of America. He will be listed in Whos Who in the East in 1997. Jan Lindberg:is a physicist in the Transducers and Arrays Division of the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in New London Connecticut. He leads NUWC'S exploratory development efforts for transduction science and currently is spearheading an effort to introduce high-energy density active materials into tactical sonar systems. With the discovery of high temperature superconductivity he saw the potential benefit of integrating several emerging technologies and enticed American Superconductor Corp. to develop a high temperature superconducting transducer which resulted in the March 1993 demonstration of the world's first integrated high temperature superconducting device. A low-frequency underwater acoustic transducer integrating high-temperature superconducting (HTS) coils and terbium-dysprosium (TbDy) magnetostrictive material was designed, fabricated and tested. This represents a novel application for high-temperature superconductivity and is a first example of an integrated system involving HTS coils cooled by a mechanical cryocooler. It also brings HTS technology together with a novel magnetic materials technology. The I-ITS coils were fabricated using react-and-wind BiSrCaCuO-2223 HTS wires. They produce a peak field of 0.1 Tesla at 50 K. A single-stage, Stirling-cycle cryocooler was used to cool the coils and the TbDy driver to cryogenic temperatures (50-65K). The coils provide an AC magnetic field superimposed on a DC bias field, which produces oscillatory strain within the magnetostrictive rod;this motion is transmitted through a cryostat to two head masses which project sound into the surrounding environment. High power acoustic output can be obtained by operating the transducer at its resonance frequencies of 520 Hz in air and 430 Hz underwater. This development demonstrates that, unlike low temperature superconductors, HTS wires can be considered for AC applications due to the low losses in these superconductors and the higher heat capacities of materials at temperatures above liquid helium.

The Alcohol, Smoking and Substance Involvement Screening Test (ASSIST) is an instrument to screen substance-use-related health risks. However, little is known whether the ASSIST could be further shortened while remaining psychometrically sound across different countries, languages, gender identities, and sexual-orientation-based groups. The study aimed to validate a shortened 11-item ASSIST (ASSIST-11). Using the International Sex Survey data, 82,243 participants (M _age = 32.39 years) across 42 countries and 26 languages completed questions from the ASSIST-11 regarding gender identity, sexual orientation, and other information. Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and multigroup CFA (MGCFA) evaluated the ASSIST-11's structure and tested measurement invariance across groups. Cronbach's α and McDonald's ω were used to examine the internal consistency. Cohen's d and independent t-tests were used to examine known-group validity. The ASSIST-11 was unidimensional across countries, languages, age groups, gender identities (i.e., men, women, and gender-diverse individuals), and sexual orientations (i.e., heterosexual and sexual minority individuals). Cronbach's α was 0.63 and McDonald's ω was 0.68 for the ASSIST-11. Known-group validity was supported by Cohen's d (range between 0.23 and 0.40) with significant differences (p-values<0.001). The ASSIST-11 is a modified instrument with a unidimensional factor structure across different languages, age groups, countries, gender identities, and sexual orientations. The low internal consistency of the ASSIST-11 might be acceptable as it assesses a broad concept (i.e., use of several different substances). Healthcare providers and researchers may use the ASSIST-11 to quickly assess substance-use information from general populations and evaluate the need to follow up with more detailed questions about substance use. © 2023 Elsevier Ltd

Objectives: This study aimed to examine the psychometric properties of the P4 suicide screener in a multinational sample. The primary goal was to evaluate the reliability and validity of the scale and investigate its convergent validity by analyzing its correlation with depression, anxiety, and substance use. Study design: The study design is a cross-sectional self-report study conducted across 42 countries. Methods: A cross-sectional, self-report study was conducted in 42 countries, with a total of 82,243 participants included in the final data set. Results: The study provides an overview of suicide ideation rates across 42 countries and confirms the structural validity of the P4 screener. The findings indicated that sexual and gender minority individuals exhibited higher rates of suicidal ideation. The P4 screener showed adequate reliability, convergence, and discriminant validity, and a cutoff score of 1 is recommended to identify individuals at risk of suicidal behavior. Conclusions: The study supports the reliability and validity of the P4 suicide screener across 42 diverse countries, highlighting the importance of using a cross-cultural suicide risk assessment to standardize the identification of high-risk individuals and tailoring culturally sensitive suicide prevention strategies. © 2024 The Royal Society for Public Health

His NetLab research network is trying to get a handle on how the Internet fits into everyday life. Wellman founded the International Network for Social Network Analysis in 1976. We review the evidence from a number of surveys in which our NetLab has been involved about the extent to which the Internet is transforming or enhancing community. The studies show that the Internet is used for connectivity locally as well as globally, although the nature of its use varies in different countries. Internet use is adding on to other forms of communication, rather than replacing them. Internet use is reinforcing the pre-existing turn to societies in the developed world that are organized around networked individualism rather than group or local solidarities. The result has important implications for civic involvement.
