Azo compounds are widely used in dyes, pigments, blowing agents, and initiators. Unfortunately, these compounds contain the bivalent -N-N- composition which might be cleavaged readily even under high ambient temperature. The self-accelerating decomposition might cause a runaway reaction and lead to a fire or explosion when the cooling system fails or other upsets occur. To investigate the thermal stability parameters of 2,2′- azobis(isobutyronitrile) with thermal hazard and mechanism, differential scanning calorimetry and thermal activity monitor III were applied with non-isothermal method and isothermal method to obtain onset temperature (T 0), maximum temperature (Tmax), and heat of decomposition (ΔHd). Thermal stability parameters play a pivotal role in thermal analysis, leading particularly to complex evaluation of the inherently safer design during preparation, processing, transport, or storage. The results provide sufficient thermokinetic parameters for process safety in terms of proactive loss prevention program. © Akadémiai Kiadó, Budapest, Hungary 2014.

3D city models are an important cornerstone in the development of digital twin cities, allowing for various analyses and simulations. CityGML, as an open standard for 3D city models, emphasizes five main aspects: scale or level of detail (LoD), semantics, geometry, topology, and appearance. One of the important elements in CityGML 3D city models is representation of vegetation. Vegetation in CityGML, especially individual trees, is still limited in terms of detail and resolution, reducing its effectiveness for specific applications. This paper proposes a graph-based conceptual model for individual trees that conforms to the CityGML v2.0 specification. The model refers to the morphological structure of a tree consisting of roots, trunk, and crown (including branches, twigs, and leaves), and considers the five main aspects of CityGML. By enhancing semantic information and geometric details, the model aims to provide an information-rich and realistic representation of individual trees in a 3D city environment. The 3D tree model created based on this conceptual model may be applicable in the development of digital twin urban forests and virtual forest simulations that utilize immersive technologies such as the metaverse. This research opens up new opportunities in the development of solitary vegetation objects through CityGML ADE by including more detailed semantic and topological information. © Author(s) 2024.

Using the net of factors (IoT) technology has led to a resurgence in improving intelligent farms. The capacity to music and reveal crops, animals, and different farm activities has advanced the performance of farming operations. Clever farms enjoy the blessings of connectivity, allowing farmers to be more informed and higher prepared for any ability issues. This increased connectivity has also opened the door for new security problems. This paper looks at intelligent farm IoT structures' usability and safety features. The paper investigates the overall protection levels of the systems and the various security measures that may be implemented as an excellent way to discover and guard in opposition to ability threats. It also evaluates the usability of the structures and assesses the extent of convenience it offers for agriculture employees. The paper also evaluates the present-day enterprise tendencies in IoT protection, value, and potential future trends. Ultimately, the paper gives insights into modern and future security and usability measures that may be taken to ensure the protection and effectiveness of clever farm IoT systems. The paper examines the usability and protection capabilities of innovative Farm Internet of Things (IoT) structures, which provide farmers with the potential to monitor, manipulate, and control various farm elements remotely. Usability functions consisting of user interfaces, device connectivity, and communication protocols are analyzed to evaluate how user-friendly the device is. Additionally, safety functions consisting of authentication, authorization, encryption, and getting entry to manage are tested to decide how the gadget can defend the statistics and assets of the farm. Moreover, this paper touches upon the contemporary and destiny-demanding situations related to those structures, including scalability, cost, and privacy. ultimately, the paper concludes with a comprehensive assessment of the usability and security functions and

Current article has been developed for understanding the impact of data analytics and machine learning technique in e-commerce. It has been detected that using machine learning brings the benefits of automation and improves continuous growth. Data analytics provide the scope of accuracy build-up. This research’s goal is to establish the impact of photo biomodulation therapy using infrared diode laser irradiation (975.2 nm) on male Siamese catfish’s gonadal maturity level (Pan- gasianodon hypophthalmus). Infrared diode laser irradiation is used at the reproductive point (governor vessel), which is located 2/3 of the distance between the anus and the pectoral fin. TKG, gonado somatic index and hepatic somatic index were the parameters studied in this study. The treatments were as follows: Control- (no treatment), Control+ (ova prim), P1 (0.2 J/cm2), P2 (0.4 J/cm2), P3 (0.6 J/cm2), and P4 (0.8 J/cm2). Photo biomodulation therapy with infrared diode laser exposure can affect the level of gonad maturity (TKG), gonado somatic index, and hepatic somatic index in male Siamese catfish, according to the results of the tests (Pangasianodon hypopthalmus). The fish gonads at the TKG IV stage had the highest TKG at P2 (dose 0.4 J/cm2), with a GSI value of 1.02 percent and an HSI value of 1.46 percent. According to the findings of the study, photo biomodulation therapy with infrared diode laser exposure at a dose of 0.4 J/cm2 is the best way to increase the gonad maturity of male Siamese catfish (Pangasianodon hypophthalmus). © 2022, The Authors. He is concurrently finishing doctoral studies in Sociology at the University of Chicago.1

Renewing Henri Lefebvre's unfinished and overlooked science of ‘rhythmanalysis,’ I propose physical space becomes meaningful to us to the extent that it provides refuge from the ravages of time—specifically, the intersecting rhythms of everyday life. In other words, we develop affinity with space based upon its restorative function. Conflict between overlapping rhythms is mentally exhausting. There are cognitive costs associated with the work day's intrusion upon our sleep cycle, or extension into our evening leisure time. I will contend that we love our local bars, coffee shops, and hangouts because they are intermediary spaces, situated between cycles, thereby easing our transition and restoring our mental energy. I conclude with some examples of these dynamics at play in the urban life surrounding two peculiar Polish sausage stands on South Side of Chicago.

Wireless sensor networks can be applied to health care and disaster response, etc. The importance and accuracy of the information requirements of wireless sensors are more stringent. It corresponding to the use of information security should be taken seriously. The detection technology of intrusion detection system (IDS) will affect the lifetime of entire wireless sensor network (WSN). This study combines ontology with intrusion detection system to propose a lightweight ontology intrusion detection system (OWIDS). The system builds the relationship of sensor node in the ontology to detect Sybil attack firstly. The patrol node loads a part of the ontology to detect Sybil attack. Finally, the system uses the isolation table to continue isolation abnormal nodes to avoid duplicate detection energy-consuming. The preliminary experimental result shows that our proposed method can reduce the energy consumption for wireless sensor network intrusion detection, and improve the availability of intrusion detection systems. © 2013 ISSN 1881-803X.

This article presents a study that analyzes open innovation and its contribution to technology transfer processes in universities, addressing as key questions: What elements or factors of open innovation contribute to the performance of technology transfer in universities? What could be the role of open innovation in the technology transfer process of universities? The study was conducted from a systematic literature review in the Scopus, Web of Science, ScienceDirect, and SpringerLink databases on 95 peer-reviewed articles selected from the last 20 years. From an exploratory approach, the critical analysis of the state of knowledge permitted the identification of the 36 factors of open innovation contributing to the performance of technology transfer in universities, from knowledge management and innovation, resources, and capabilities, R&D management with universities, and the university-industry relationship. According to the findings and success cases, open innovation from the use of internal and external knowledge boosts R&D+i projects, encouraging universities to keep close relations with actors from regional innovation systems, contributing positively to the performance of technology transfer in institutions and stimulating the commercialization of the developments generated from research. In the future, we propose delving into outbound open innovation, its systematization, contribution, and impact on university technology transfer processes. © 2023 The Authors

Reducing dropout rate through a deep learning model for sustainable education: long-term tracking of learning outcomes of an undergraduate cohort from 2018 to 2021

In recent years, initiatives and the resulting application of precision education have been applied with increasing frequency in Taiwan; the accompanying discourse has focused on identifying potential applications for artificial intelligence and how to use learning analytics to improve teaching quality and learning outcomes. This study used the established dropout risk prediction model to improve student learning effectiveness. The model was based on the academic portfolios of past students and built with statistical learning and deep learning methods. This study used this model to predict the dropout risk of 2205 freshmen enrolled in the fall semester of 2018 (graduated in June 2022) in the field of sustainable education. A total of 176 students with a dropout risk of more than 20% were considered high-risk students. After tracking and the appropriate guidance, the dropout risk of 91 students fell from > 20% to < 20%. To discuss the results from the perspective of gender and financial disadvantages, the improvement rate of the dropout risk for male students was 10.2% better than that of female students at 2.9%. The improvement rate in dropout risk for students with disadvantageous financial situations was as high as 12.0%, surpassing the 5.9% rate among general students. Overall, the dropout rate in the second year of the 2018 freshman cohort was lower than that of the 2016 and 2017 freshman cohorts. A predictive model established by statistical learning and deep learning methods was used as a tool to promote precision education, accurately and efficiently identifying students who are having difficulty learning, as well as leading to a better understanding of AI (artificial intelligence) in smart learning for sustainable education.

This paper introduces an approach for designing gain-scheduled dynamic output feedback controllers for continuous-time Linear Parameter-Varying (LPV) systems. The aim is to improve transient response by incorporating both D-stability and H∞ criteria into the synthesis conditions. We achieve this by employing changes of variables and congruence transformations, which lead to new synthesis conditions expressed as linear matrix inequalities. Additional fine-tuned scalar parameters can be used to enhance further the controller performance in terms of less conservative H∞ guaranteed costs. To assess the effectiveness of our proposed synthesis procedure, we conduct computational experiments in the context of a microinverter-based distributed power generation system. These experiments take into account real-world operational characteristics, providing a comprehensive evaluation of our approach. The results demonstrate that the designed controller effectively ensures the desired closed-loop system behavior, even when dealing with state noise and discretization errors originating from digital implementation. © 2024 The Franklin Institute
