The advancement of the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) has revolutionized data acquisition and processing in critical care settings. Given the pivotal role of ventilators, accurately predicting extubation outcomes is essential to optimize patient care. This study presents an edge computing-based framework that incorporates machine learning algorithms to predict ventilator extubation success using real-time data collected directly from ventilators. The system was deployed on edge devices to enable on-site inference with minimal latency. Among the evaluated models, Random Forest and XGBoost, the latter demonstrated superior predictive performance under both holdout and tenfold cross-validation schemes. Notably, the edge-based architecture reduced server data transmissions by 83.33%, while improving system stability, resilience, and sustainability. This paper details the model evaluation and demonstrates the feasibility and efficiency of edge intelligence in ventilator weaning decision support. © The Author(s) 2025.

Special need is a person who need assistance for their disabilities which include medical, physical, mental or psychological such as person with autism, down syndrome, dyslexia, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), multiple sclerosis, schizophrenia, cystic fibrosis, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, blindness, deafness, epilepsy, chronic asthma and so on. In this proposed research idea about intelligent E-commerce for special needs, we limited to four types of difficulties such as hearing difficulty, vision difficulty, language difficulty, and learning difficulty. In this paper, we interest in those special needs persons who can use e-commerce and how to model a system that can help them to joy and easy to join with e-commerce. For some, this intelligent e-commerce is not only for shopping only but will become part of their healing for special needs in order to engage with daily human activities and increase their daily confidence in life. This paper also a preliminary investigation that can be used for Ph.D. or doctoral research degree who is interested in building e-commerce framework for people with a special need or disability. © 2019 IEEE.

Background: Although evidence indicates that extracorporeal shockwave therapy (ESWT) is effective in treating calcifying shoulder tendinitis, incomplete resorption and dissatisfactory results are still reported in many cases. Data mining techniques have been applied in health care in the past decade to predict outcomes of disease and treatment. Purpose: To identify the ideal data mining technique for the prediction of ESWT-induced shoulder calcification resorption and the most accurate algorithm for use in the clinical setting. Study Design: Case-control study. Methods: Patients with painful calcified shoulder tendinitis treated by ESWT were enrolled. Seven clinical factors related to shoulder calcification were adopted as the input attributes: sex, age, side affected, symptom duration, pretreatment Constant-Murley score, and calcification size and type. The 5 data mining techniques assessed were multilayer perceptron (neural network), naïve Bayes, sequential minimal optimization, logistic regression, and the J48 decision tree classifier. Results: A total of 248 patients with calcified shoulder tendinitis were enrolled in this study. Shorter symptom duration yielded the highest gain ratio (0.374), followed by smaller calcification size (0.336) and calcification type (0.253). With the J48 decision tree method, the accuracy of 3 input attributes was 89.5% by 10-fold cross-validation, indicating satisfactory accuracy. A treatment algorithm using the J48 decision tree indicated that a symptom duration of ≤10 months was the most positive indicator of calcification resorption, followed by a calcification size of ≤10.82 mm. Conclusion: The J48 decision tree method demonstrated the highest precision and accuracy in the prediction of shoulder calcification resorption by ESWT. A symptom duration of ≤10 months or calcification size of ≤10.82 mm represented the clinical scenarios most likely to show resorption after ESWT. © The Author(s) 2024.

The benchmark tin oxide(SnO_(2))electron transporting layers(ETLs)have enabled remarkable progress in planar perovskite solar cell(PSCs).However,the energy loss is still a challenge due to the lack of“hidden interface”*** report a novel ligand-tailored ultrafine SnO_(2) quantum dots(QDs)via a facile rapid room temperature ***,the ligand-tailored SnO_(2) QDs ETL with multi-functional terminal groups in situ refines the buried interfaces with both the perovskite and transparent electrode via enhanced interface binding and perovskite *** novel ETLs induce synergistic effects of physical and chemical interfacial modulation and preferred perovskite crystallization-directing,delivering reduced interface defects,suppressed non-radiative recombination and elongated charge carrier *** conversion efficiency(PCE)of 23.02%(0.04 cm^(2))and 21.6%(0.98 cm^(2),V_(OC) loss:0.336 V)have been achieved for the blade-coated PSCs(1.54 eV E_(g))with our new ETLs,representing a record for SnO_(2) based blade-coated ***,a substantially enhanced PCE(V_(OC))from 20.4%(1.15 V)to 22.8%(1.24 V,90 mV higher V_(OC),0.04 cm^(2) device)in the blade-coated 1.61 eV PSCs system,via replacing the benchmark commercial colloidal SnO_(2) with our new ETLs.

A test of quantumness is a protocol where a classical user issues challenges to a quantum device to determine if it exhibits non-classical behavior, under certain cryptographic assumptions. Recent attempts to implement such tests on current quantum computers rely on either interactive challenges with efficient verification, or non-interactive challenges with inefficient (exponential time) verification. In this paper, we execute an efficient non-interactive test of quantumness on an ion-trap quantum computer. Our results significantly exceed the bound for a classical device’s success. Today many local governments have provided aspiration services or social media based complaints about the community to participate in giving aspirations and report problems that occur around the area. To improve the usefulness of this service, we conduct research with the aim of evaluating and identifying the factors that affect the service's application. The impact of this study is that the government can provide services according to the wishes of the community, because the model found can be a reference for the government to increase public trust and satisfaction for users of government services. The influence on the adoption of Aspiration Services is explained by using perceptions of trust, attitudes, and intentions of use that refer to technology acceptance models (TAM). Data processing and analysis in our research using the SEM-PLS method (Structural Equation Model-Partial Least Square). The results in this research will present that services applying technology that gain a positive effect on the awareness of usability and benefit for service users. © 2019 IEEE.

The field of computational pathology has been transformed with recent advances in foundation models that encode histopathology region-of-interests (ROIs) into versatile and transferable feature representations via self-supervised learning (SSL). However, translating these advancements to address complex clinical challenges at the patient and slide level remains constrained by limited clinical data in disease-specific cohorts, especially for rare clinical conditions. We propose TITAN, a multimodal whole slide foundation model pretrained using 335,645 WSIs via visual self-supervised learning and vision-language alignment with corresponding pathology reports and 423,122 synthetic captions generated from a multimodal generative AI copilot for pathology. Without any finetuning or requiring clinical labels, TITAN can extract general-purpose slide representations and generate pathology reports that generalize to resource-limited clinical scenarios such as rare disease retrieval and cancer prognosis. We evaluate TITAN on diverse clinical tasks and find that TITAN outperforms both ROI and slide foundation models across machine learning settings such as linear probing, few-shot and zero-shot classification, rare cancer retrieval and cross-modal retrieval, and pathology report generation. The absence of requirement documents or incompatibility of the requirement documents with existing software can be a problem in developing or maintaining software. Without knowing things that become requirements can cause software as a product that fails because it does not meet customer desires. One of the main problems in developing or maintaining software is that developers do not know the entity relational schema of the software. So developers will prefer to rebuild from scratch. This paper discusses database reconstruction from SQL to entity relational diagrams by identifying the primary and foreign keys of SQL sampling.

The implementation of digital signatures aims to improve the integrity, authenticity, non-repudiation, and confidentiality of digital data in an information system. This article focuses on implementing signatures for data communication and avoiding digital data forgery. The number of complaints from several campus managers will indicate forgery of signatures in validating completion data from students is the author’s background in conducting this research. This research is also expected to be a form of organizing smart campuses. This study uses the best-practice of waterfall system development lifecycle and data sources consisting of reference data from various previous studies and data from observation of some cases. With the digital signatures, the information system can anticipate the threat of cybercrime in public administration. Digital signatures information system also considered adequate, efficient, and accountable as a new form of organizing a smart campus.

This study employed Remote Sensing and Geographical information Systems to explore the influence of environmental factors and human-induced land use/land cover changes on the chemistry of soda-saline lakes in Northern Tanzania. Satellite-based rainfall data were sourced from the Climate Hazards Group Infrared Precipitation with Station (CHIRPS) datasets, and temperature data were obtained from MERRA-2. Monthly precipitation, temperature, and drought conditions in lake watersheds were analyzed from 1981 to 2022, while land use and land cover changes were assessed for 2000, 2014, and 2023. Soil types were acquired from the FAO Digital Soil Map of the World, while geological characteristics were sourced from the US Geological Survey database. The findings revealed that the region's climate is ideal for enhancing evapotranspiration, leading to mineral precipitation, and altering the chemistry of soda-saline lakes. The Standardized Precipitation Evapotranspiration Index revealed increased drought events in the lake basins since 1987, with prolonged drought occurrence between 2000 and 2017. The results also showed that the region is characterized by a variety of soil types, including ferric acrisols, chromic cambisols, calcic cambisols, entisols, inceptisols, eutric fluvisols, distric nitisols, humic nitisols, mollic andosols, ochric andosols, and pellic vertisols. Furthermore, the region is distinguished by diverse geological processes, from Precambrian-Cambrian to tertiary intrusive, triggered by volcanic and tectonic activity. Land use/land cover changes results indicated dynamics in the various classes with an overall decrease in areas under water bodies (−39.80 %), forests (−22.57 %) and bareland (−36.18) while agricultural land (111.01 %) built-up areas (434.72 %), shrubs and grasses (72.77 %) increased in area coverage over the 23 years study period (2000–2023).
