Backpropagation Network Optimization Using One Step Secant (OSS) Algorithm

Education is one of the main indicators in national development efforts. The government in its efforts to realize national goals to educate the nation's life has made a policy for compulsory 9-year schools, namely elementary and junior high schools. To find out how many residents use the education facilities provided by the government can be seen through school enrollment rates (SPR). A high School Participation Rate (SPR) means showing greater opportunities to access education in general. This study aims to optimize artificial neural networks with the One Step Secant (OSS) algorithm. Artificial Neural Network (ANN) is part of the artificial intelligence system (Artificial Intelligence, AI) which is one of the artificial representations of the human brain that always tries to simulate the learning process in the human brain. The sample data used for optimization is SPR Indonesia data by province. Using 4 architectural models with 5 input variables, 1 shadow layer and 1 output. The best results obtained between architectures 5-4-1, 5-8-1, 5-16-1 and 5-32-1 are architectures 5-16-1. Obtained prediction accuracy comparisons using the One Step Secant (OSS) algorithm and standard algorithms namely 96.97% and 100%. The standard algorithm is superior in accuracy, the One Step Secant (OSS) algorithm is superior in terms of iterations.

Recent research has shown that people are frequently searching for information with local intent. The existing systems fail to answer this class of questions as they are not mainly designed to handle it. In this paper, we propose LOCI, a mobile question & answer system with a multimodal motivation scheme for local intent questions where users provide timely and accurate answers in a dynamic social network. LOCI mines users' shared and contextual information to identify the most relevant users for each question. The proposed multimodal motivation scheme exploits users' social ties and monetary rewards to raise their basic motivation levels. LOCI assigns questions to the best answerers via our three proposed algorithms: (i) LOCI-RT, which immediately assigns newly arrived questions/users to available users/questions, (ii) LOCI-LO, which uses short-time batches for locally optimal questions-users assignment, and (iii) LOCI-AD, which assigns short- and long-deadline questions immediately and via batching, respectively. We conduct: (i) a survey to support our assumptions regarding the proposed multimodal motivation scheme, and (ii) trace-driven experiments to evaluate the performance of the three proposed LOCI's algorithms.

In the last five years (2013-2017) Indonesia's fertilizer production experienced volatile growth, but overall tended to increase at a rate of 1.7% per year. The research aims to optimize artificial neural networks with a resilient backpropagation algorithm (Rprop), artificial neural networks are one of the artificial representations of the human brain that always tries to simulate the learning process in the human brain. Sample data used for optimization is fertilizer import data according to the main country of origin and uses 4 architectures, the best results are obtained between architectures 6-8-1, 6-12-1, 6-16-1, and 6-32-1 is architecture 6-32-1 with 100% accuracy.

In a question & answer (Q& A) system, credible users provide answers of higher correctness. However, in a distributed social network based Q& A (SNQ& A) system, an asker does not know a k-hop answerer's credibility, thus making it difficult for the asker to assess the answer correctness. Therefore, a credibility-enabled distributed SNQ& A system is crucial for determining the correctness of the answers. To this end, we propose CRED, a credibility-enabled distributed SNQ& A system, which facilitates each user to assess the correctness of the provided answers. CRED utilizes subjective logic to build interestwise friend-to-friend credibility opinions under uncertainties. The developed opinions are then accumulated by CRED to get each user's aggregated credibility opinion, which may reflect the user's real credibility. CRED forwards a question to users with highest credibility beliefs in the question interest category. Our evaluation results show that, on average, CRED accomplishes higher success ratio, higher answer correctness, and lower answer uncertainty by 12.1%, 16.4%, and 22.2%, respectively, as compared to the best-performing baseline systems.

Reinforcement Learning (RL) is an extraordinarily paradigm that aims to solve a complex problem. This technique leverages the traditional feedforward networks with temporal-difference learning to overcome supervised and unsupervised real-world problems. However, RL is one of state-of-the-art topic due to the opaque aspects in design and implementation. Also, in which situation we will get performance gain from RL is still unclear. Therefore, This study firstly examines the impact of Experience Replay in Deep Q-Learning agent with Self-Driving Car application. Secondly, The impact of Eligibility Trace in RNN A3C agents with Breakout AI game application is studied. Our results indicated that these two techniques enhance RL performance by more than 20 percent as compared with traditional RL methods. © 2019 IEEE.

MnBi2Te4 (MBT) is the first intrinsic magnetic topological insulator with the interaction of spin-momentum locked surface electrons and intrinsic magnetism, and it exhibits novel magnetic and topological phenomena. Recent studies suggested that the interaction of electrons and magnetism can be affected by the Mn-doped Bi2Te3 phase at the surface due to inevitable structural defects. Here we report an observation of nonreciprocal transport, i.e. current-direction-dependent resistance, in a bilayer composed of antiferromagnetic MBT and nonmagnetic Pt. The emergence of the nonreciprocal response below the Néel temperature confirms a correlation between nonreciprocity and intrinsic magnetism in the surface state of MBT. The angular dependence of the nonreciprocal transport indicates that nonreciprocal response originates from the asymmetry scattering of electrons at the surface of MBT mediated by magnon. Our work provides an insight into nonreciprocity arising from the correlation between magnetism and Dirac surface electrons in intrinsic magnetic topological insulators. © 2022, CC BY.

Currently, the growth of information and technology is rapid. It makes a lot of things in various fields including education becoming more effective and efficient. In education, one of its implementation which is a game is proven to be a useful tool to support conventional teaching methods and bring a more natural understanding of learning materials. Moreover, as a product of the popular culture in modern society, video game mirrors the general culture practice in real life and reflects it via its own culture inside the game. This makes a video game can give a contribution to the social construction of reality as it affects the player's view towards learning in real life and vice versa. From there, we see that there is an opportunity for learning about religion to be supported by its utilization to provide an interactive and fun learning experience. In this paper, we discuss how a video game is implemented to support religious learning. The game was developed with the scrum method where we surveyed to gather the user requirements before the design step. The game design was made by using the use case diagram and storyboard, and it was built using Unity version 2017.3.0f3. © 2019 IEEE.

In this paper, we introduce a challenging global large-scale ship database (called GLSD), designed specifically for ship detection tasks. The designed GLSD database includes a total of 212,357 annotated instances from 152,576 images. Based on the collected images, we propose 13 ship categories that widely exist in international routes. These categories include Sailing boat, Fishing boat, Passenger ship, Warship, General cargo ship, Container ship, Bulk cargo carrier, Barge, Ore carrier, Speed boat, Canoe, Oil carrier, and Tug. The motivations of developing GLSD include the following: 1) providing a refine and extensive ship detection database that benefits the object detection community, 2) establishing a database with exhaustive labels (bounding boxes and ship class categories) in a uniform classification scheme, and 3) providing a large-scale ship database with geographic information (covering more than 3000 ports and 33 routes) that benefits multi-modal analysis. In addition, we discuss the evaluation protocols corresponding to image characteristics in GLSD and analyze the performance of selected state-of-the-art object detection algorithms on GSLD, aiming to establish baselines for future studies. The paper introduces a novel technique for aesthetic quality assessment of an actor from her/his audio-visual clips using the acquired P200 and N400 EEG-responses of the experimental subjects. The P200 signal responds with high amplitude when the subject experiences a non-beautiful stimulus, whereas the N400 signal offers a high negativity for good tonal quality of the actor in the audio-visual stimulus. The synergy of small P200 amplitude and large N400 negativity jointly indicates good aesthetic quality of the actor present in the audio-visual stimulus. The intra/inter-subjective variations in the assessment of aesthetic quality are resolved using a General Type-2 Fuzzy Reasoning. The novelty of the present research lies in the design of the General Type-2 Fuzzy Reasoning algorithm for assessment of aesthetic quality from the measurement of peak power and total power in the selected band of the above two signals. Experiments undertaken confirm that the proposed technique outperforms the state-of-the art techniques when realized for the present application. Finally, the top-ranking stimuli are identified based on the average score of the aesthetic quality of the stimuli assessed by 30 subjects. The top-ranking stimuli may be utilized for psychological nourishment of mentally-challenged people. Statistical technique undertaken confirms the superiority of the proposed technique with its competitors.
