This paper is a continuation of previous research supervised by co-author Segall that appeared in Akarapu et al. (2016a, 2016b) at WMSCI 2016. This research studies in depth only two of the characteristics of water quality for actual 2016 data collected for a water treatment plant located in United States where the previous studies Akarapu et al. (2016a, 2016) studied five characteristics of water quality for 2014 data for the same water treatment plant. The two water quality characteristics studied in-depth with this paper with a more recent data set for the same water treatment plant are pH and Carbonaceous Biochemical Oxygen Demand (CBOD). When a charged particle penetrates through an optical interface, photon emissions emerge—a phenomenon known as transition radiation. Being paramount to fundamental physics, transition radiation has enabled many applications from high-energy particle identification to novel light sources. A rule of thumb in transition radiation is that the radiation intensity generally decreases with the decrease of particle velocity v; as a result, low-energy particles are not favored in practice. Here, we find that there exist situations where transition radiation from particles with extremely low velocities (e.g., v/c<10−3) exhibits comparable intensity as that from high-energy particles (e.g., v/c=0.999), where c is the light speed in free space. The comparable radiation intensity implies an extremely high photon extraction efficiency from low-energy particles, up to 8 orders of magnitude larger than that from high-energy particles. This exotic phenomenon of low-velocity-favored transition radiation originates from the interference of the excited Ferrell-Berreman modes in an ultrathin epsilon-near-zero slab. Our findings may provide a promising route toward the design of integrated light sources based on low-energy electrons and specialized detectors for beyond-standard-model particles.

Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks (VANETs) have garnered a lot of consideration and research in last decades. By enhancing safety and comfort, VANETs are essential to the development of self-driving and semi-self-driving cars. Security risks that are specific to VANET or that are observed in ad hoc networks, however, pose significant difficulties. External communication with the situation through data control and Cooperative Awareness Messages (CAMs) exchanges is crucial for these vehicles. Numerous assaults could possibly target VANETs. VANETs may be vulnerable to several types of assaults. The lack of intrusion detection systems, inadequate encryption methods, insecure communication routes, and inadequate authentication processes are some of the technological flaws in VANETs that make smart vehicles vulnerable to attacks. The security and effectiveness of smart vehicle operations suffer because these flaws allow attackers to intercept, change, or interrupt communication between vehicles. Owing to these security concerns, this study introduces a Bi-directional sparse Attention-recurrent Auto Encoder (BSAR-AE) based Intrusion Detection System (IDS) in VANET. The system uses the Tuna Swarm optimizer (TSO) with the enhancement through the implementation of Deep Neural Network (DNN) based feature selection in VANET. It is a useful technique for resolving issues with deep layer neural networks, like low velocity and overfitting issues in learning. The evolutionary based optimization effectively tuned the hyper parameters of the DL model which will improve the detection accuracy. The system use of the CICIDS2017 dataset, which is associated with actual data and the experimented analysis shows that the proposed model is effectual for detecting the malicious attacks in VANET with improved accuracy of 98.7%.

One challenge in the generation of high-order meshes is that mesh tangling can occur as a consequence of moving the new boundary nodes to the true curved boundary. In this paper, we propose a new optimization-based method that uses signed angles to untangle invalid second- and third-order triangular meshes. Our proposed method consists of two passes. In the first pass, we loop over each high-order interior edge node and minimize an objective function based on the signed angles of the pair of triangles that share the node. In the second pass, we loop over face nodes and move them to the mean of the high-order nodes of the triangle to which the face node belongs. We present several numerical examples in two dimensions with second- and third-order elements that demonstrate the capabilities of our method for untangling invalid meshes. © 2019 Proceedings of the 28th International Meshing Roundtable, IMR 2019. Consumer purchasing patterns are a form of purchases made by consumers, whether someone or a lot of people to get the desired item by making a purchase transaction. One characteristic of the purchase pattern is the existence of acquiring something through exchanging money. This study aims to create an application that is used in determining consumer purchasing patterns by applying a priori algorithms and using Visual Basic 2010 as a tool for determining consumer purchase patterns. This application uses a priori algorithm calculation method where the sample consumer purchase data will be sorted and calculated by providing the value of the minium support and configuration parameters and based on the results of confidence the largest number of conclusions such as: can be used as information for determining sales, the application of a priori algorithms can provide information pattern combination item set from consumer purchase data that is with support above 15% and confidence above 50% on item set. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

This paper examines the relationship between user pageview (PV) histories and their item-choice behavior on an e-commerce website. We focus on PV sequences, which represent time series of the number of PVs for each user-item pair. We propose a shape-restricted optimization model that accurately estimates item-choice probabilities for all possible PV sequences. This model imposes monotonicity constraints on item-choice probabilities by exploiting partial orders for PV sequences, according to the recency and frequency of a user's previous PVs. To improve the computational efficiency of our optimization model, we devise efficient algorithms for eliminating all redundant constraints according to the transitivity of the partial orders. Experimental results using real-world clickstream data demonstrate that our method achieves higher prediction performance than that of a state-of-the-art optimization model and common machine learning methods. Implementation of Neuron Network model using Perceptron has not given optimal result in real time learning. The large number of inputs expressed in matrix form makes the process slower in pattern recognition. So, it takes characteristic to represent all the input matrices by using the partition method. By partitioning each input and with the best weight and using the activation function will produce an output value. And learning is valid in recognizing patterns only 1 iteration only. Further validation is done on the water mill control module with dissolved oxygen input, water pH, salinity and water temperature. With Perceptron Partition learning algorithm more real-time than perceptron model. OBJECTIVE"Game On" is a prototype of a Virtual Clinical Radiotherapy Learning Application (VRLA) designed to provide an immersive pre-clinical learning experience for undergraduates in the Diagnostic Imaging and Radiotherapy (PDR) program at UKM. The VRLA aims to prepare students for their clinical attachments in radiotherapy departments by focusing on patient positioning and immobilization device placement, aligned with the learning outcomes of the Radiotherapy Treatment Planning course. MATERIALS & METHODSThis pilot study involved the development using Unity and Blender software; the VRLA offers a virtual environment where students can engage in interactive gameplay related to radiotherapy procedures. The initial phase of the game model emphasizes key areas such as the lung, breast, and male reproductive regions. The VRLA aims to enhance students' understanding and skills in radiotherapy techniques by employing realistic simulations and game mechanics. A pilot study was conducted with 22 participants, including academicians and PDR students, to assess the effectiveness of the VRLA. Additionally, a BETA test was conducted through an online survey to evaluate user acceptance and engagement. RESULTSThe findings indicate generally positive levels of user acceptance, particularly among the student group. However, the academic group displayed a relatively neutral response regarding user engagement. While the VRLA demonstrates promising effectiveness for pre-clinical learning, further enhancements are necessary to improve user engagement. Recommendations include refining the game's story flow, incorporating additional game elements, and addressing the specific needs of different user groups. CONCLUSIONThis research contributes to advancing virtual clinical learning applications in radiotherapy education. Background Effective management of hyperlipidemia is crucial for preventing cardiovascular diseases. However, traditional monitoring systems often lack efficiency, particularly in navigating electronic health records (EHRs) to identify and track at-risk patients. Objective This study aims to evaluate the impact of a Hyperlipidemia Medication Reminder System (HLD-MRS) implemented in a district hospital to streamline EHR navigation and enhance patient management. Methods A pre-post prospective study was conducted at a district hospital. This study designed the HLD-MRS to integrate patient data, guideline recommendations, and risk factor assessments into a single interface, simplifying EHR navigation. This study compared EHR navigation times and patient tracking rates before and after HLD-MRS implementation across the Cardiology, Endocrinology, and Family Medicine departments. Results Among 750 patients with follow-up appointments, 334 were identified as having HLD or being at high-risk status. The HLD-MRS significantly reduced mean EHR navigation time from 83.9 s (SD = 8.6) to 53.8 s (SD = 6.6) across all departments (p < 0.001). The proportion of actively monitored HLD patients increased from 42.5 % to 56.6 %, while cases with unknown or withheld assessment status decreased from 57.5 % to 28.4 %. Conclusion The HLD-MRS improved efficiency in EHR navigation and increased the frequency of active patient monitoring. This guideline-driven decision support system shows promise for enhancing hyperlipidemia care in high-volume outpatient settings.

In the context of achieving Good Corporate Governance (GCG) in hospitals, among others, it is carried out with control and supervision, including in the case of hospital facility maintenance installations. Besides that, the hospital needs to improve its services. The asset reporting system is one of the high needs in this field, so it requires a solution that can deal with existing problems. Unfortunately, the current reporting system so far is more likely to be conventional, such as by telephone. This study proposes a new solution to the hospital facility maintenance reporting process, namely by utilising smartphone-based applications that directly connected to the server. So, the information distributed to the competent parties. This solution can speed up the reporting process and actions.
