Skipjack tuna (Katsuwonus pelamis) which was a type of fish not only a household consumption commodity in Indonesia, but also a superior commodity as an export from the fisheries sector in Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the financial feasibility of the skipjack tuna catching use pole and line, and hand line fishing gear in Bone bay, conducted from January to December 2018 in Luwu Regency and Sinjai Regency. The method used in this study is the survey research method with cluster random sampling of skipjack tuna fishermen. The data analysis used financial feasibility analysis consists of profit analysis and investment analysis includes Net Present Value (NPV), Net Benefit-Cost Ratio (Net B/C), and Internal Rate of Return (IRR). The results show that, in one year of catching skipjack tuna in Bone bay waters, the highest profit was found in fishing businesses use pole and line fishing gear of IDR 2,720,662,561. For fishing use hand line gear get profit in one year of IDR 450,810,385. From the acquisition of each investment analysis used above shows an analysis of the investment criteria obtained NPV > 0, net B/C > 1 and IRR > the prevailing interest rate (12%), so it can be concluded that these two types of fishing gear are feasible to be developed. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Light steel framing using the Cold-Formed Steel (CFS) sections is one of the Industrialized Building Systems (IBS) highly recommended for our construction industry; it not only contributes to speeding up construction time and reducing material usage but also guarantees the quality of the building. A relentless study has been conducted to achieve the appropriate configuration to ensure CFS popularity by introducing different types of joints applicable in constructing lightweight steel framing. A review of the CFS joint is provided in this study. The CFS joint is focused on the beam-column joint, apex and eaves, and truss joint. The study is mapped to establish research trends on CFS joints. Some areas show limited study and need future research on the proposed joints’ structural behavior aspects.

In 21st century learning, students are required to be able to face the world of work that requires the ability, one of them is critical thinking. The objective of this meta-analysis is to estimate the effectiveness of problem-based learning on critical thinking skills. This meta-analysis research method consists of some steps, they are research problem, data collection (study), data coding, data analysis, and interpretation. Based on the journal research, it is found 17 critical thinking skills journals, 17 articles that fulfill the criteria: an empirical study on problem-based learning in college and secondary education conducted in classrooms. This explanation revealed that there is a strong positive effect of Problem-based Learning on critical thinking skills. The findings of the research revealed that the results of the meta-analysis were obtained an effect size of the influence of Problem-based Learning on the dependent variable of critical thinking skills of 3,1 which is classified as high where the influence of Problem-based Learning on the dependent variable of critical thinking skills is 99.9%. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Osteoporosis can be defined as a degenerative disease with reduced bone mass and changes in bone architecture that can lead to bone fragility and the risk of fractures. This abnormality can be indicated by the bone density which in visual can be determined using X-Ray images. However, X-Ray images are susceptible to noise, while in image analysis image contrast affects deep learning abilities. Hence, the CLAHE (Contrast Limited Adaptive Histogram Equalization) algorithm is used as a contrast enhancement technique in X-Ray images. This study aims to build a deep learning model using the CLAHE-enhanced image dataset with the ResNet-50 and ResNet-101 architectures. The model was built using two different datasets, namely the original image dataset and the CLAHE-enhanced image dataset. The result shows that the highest performance is given by the ResNet-101 model using the CLAHE-enhanced image dataset with an accuracy rate of 96%, precision of 95%, specificity of 95%, recall of 97% and an Fl-score of 96%, respectively. By using the CLAHE algorithm, the resulting image has high contrast and looks better at displaying features in the image so as to produce better model performance.

With the rapid growth of the textile, leather, cosmetics, and pharmaceutical industries, concerns about pollutants in these sectors, especially dye pollutants, are increasing. This research characterizes bacterial nanocellulose acetate membranes made from Sargassum extract reinforced with copper oxide nanoparticles and tests their antibacterial properties and dye removal in water. Sargassum sp. extract was fermented using Acetobacter xylinum for 10 days, producing bacterial nanocellulose, which was then esterified to create bacterial nanocellulose acetate. Copper oxide nanoparticles were added to the bacterial nanocellulose acetate solution in varying concentrations, cast, and oven-dried. The membrane was analyzed using Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscope, antibacterial activity, and dye removal. Results showed uniform copper oxide nanoparticles distribution on the membrane surface. Structure analysis revealed diffraction peaks at 35.44° and 38.57°, indicating a reduced crystalline index but improved membrane effectiveness. Antibacterial tests showed a zone of inhibition against bacterial growth, increasing with higher copper oxide nanoparticle content. The addition of copper oxide nanoparticles also influenced the dye removal capacity for Metanil Yellow, Congo Red, Eosin Yellow, Methylene Blue, and Malachite Green. The kinetic analysis showed that the adsorption process follows a pseudo-first-order model, with higher correlation coefficients (R2) compared to the pseudo-second-order model. © 2024 The Author(s)

Bengawan Solo river 548.53 km is the longest river in Java Island Indonesia, which crosses provinces of Central Java and East Java. Bengawan Solo river is heavily polluted by agricultural, industrial and domestic wastes, especially in Surakarta Residence, Central Java. The impacts of pollution in Bengawan Solo river are poor water quality, the population of native fish has declined sharply and some were almost extinct. The fish that develop was Sailfin catfish (Pterygoplichthys pardalis) because these fish were resistant to pollution. The study aimed to determine the growth parameters of Sailfin catfish (P. pardalis) in Bengawan Solo river. Estimation of growth parameter using length frequency data analysis was done using the FISAT program package. The results of growth parameters of Sailfin catfish (P. pardalis) showed that infinity length (L∞) = 41.75 cm;acceleration of growth (K) = 0.48 cm/year. Natural mortality (M) = 1,1;fishing mortality (F) = 2.47;and total mortality (Z) = 3.57. Exploitation rate (E) = 0.69. The conclusion is the fishing mortality of Sailfin catfish is quite high, while natural mortality is low because the fish are resistant to pollution. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Mining activities and community activities around the Way Umpu River have the potential to be the main source of the decline in the water quality of the Way Umpu River. Therefore, to determine the level of pollution in the Way Umpu River, it is necessary to test the quality of river water using several chemical and physical parameters such as TSS (Total Suspended Solid), DO (Dissolved Oxygen), BOD (Biological Oxygen Demand), COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand), and Phosphate. The study aims to study the differences in levels of TSS, DO, BOD, COD, and phosphate in river water before and after the mining location. The research is an observational study. Samples were taken from two points, namely the upstream (before the mining location) and the downstream (after the mining location). The average result after the analysis test is then compared with the river water quality standard in accordance with the provisions of Government Regulation no. 11 of 2012 concerning class III river water quality standards. There is no significant difference before and after mining location for the average levels of TSS, DO, BOD, and Phosphate parameters (p-value > 0.05). In the COD parameter, there is a significant difference (p-value < 0.05). Overall, the average yields of TSS, DO, BOD, COD, and Phosphate after the mining location have met the quality standards set out in accordance with Government Regulation. Therefore, it can be concluded that mining activities and community activities around the Way Umpu River have not completely decreased the water quality of the Way Umpu River in the last four years.

This study proposes a new approach, a communal-based domestic rainwater harvesting (CDRWH) system, which is a new model that combines domestic and communal rainwater harvesting systems. This model is an alternative solution to improve system performance and utilize rainwater overflow from the system. Rainwater runoff from several domestic tanks is channeled to a communal tank to be collected, processed, and redistributed to needy domestic tanks. Overflow from the communal tank is used for groundwater recharge. The CDRWH system model aims to increase water supply, reduce runoff, and conserve groundwater. The model simulation uses daily water balance analysis and yield before spillage algorithm. The simulation scenario uses variations in roof area, number of house occupants, storage tank volume, and rainfall categories: 20 years, wet year, normal year, and dry year. Jagakarsa, an urban area in South Jakarta, was selected for the CDRWH system modeling. The results showed that the CDRWH model significantly improved the performance of the volumetric reliability (VR) and time reliability (TR) systems. In addition, the model could show a comparison of total groundwater recharge (GWR) and groundwater extraction (GWE), where the GWR capacity was higher. This allows centralized rainwater management in communal tanks, thereby reducing groundwater usage. The design of this model is simple. Therefore it can be easily duplicated for application in other locations. © 2025 The Authors

Jagakarsa is an urban area in South Jakarta, Indonesia, that uses groundwater for raw water because there are no clean water supply facilities. The significant increase in the need for clean water due to increasing urbanization threatens groundwater availability to maintain the balance of the surrounding environment. Natural conditions with a deep layer of clay and a dense built environment further increase runoff capacity because water has difficulty seeping into the soil. The intense extraction of groundwater without balancing groundwater recharge results in land subsidence. Until now, there has been no research on this issue. Thus, our research is necessary. This research aims to assess the potential of groundwater infiltration areas in Jagakarsa. Due to limited data, as a first step, we used a qualitative model with MCDM analysis (AHP and MIF methods) integrated with GIS to map potential groundwater recharge areas. The AHP method is explained in detail with a matrix system formula, readers can understand the calculation steps more easily. This study uses five influencing factors: geological formation, land use, slope, rainfall, and soil type. The results show that most study locations have low potential (AHP 74.49 % and MIF 75.25 %) for groundwater recharge. This groundwater recharge potential map was validated using groundwater level measurements. The accuracy of the AHP is 74.51 %, and the MIF method reaches 75.26 %. Therefore, further research is needed to obtain appropriate and effective technology for maintaining groundwater availability. © 2024 The Authors

Review of the sciencepreneurship approach in science learning

Entrepreneurial character is not only needed in the business world. The world of work requires graduates who are innovative and able to make changes according to the demands of the times. The review of articles on the sciencepreneurship approach has been carried out using identification, selection, eligibility, and exclusion techniques. Search sources via Google Scholar, DOAJ, ERIC, science direct with unlimited period. There were 21 articles found. The results show that entrepreneurs are often considered to be ready to do new things, and entrepreneurs are considered to be able to realize new opportunities. Entrepreneurship education may not necessarily result in direct entrepreneurial activity, such as starting a new business, but it may enhance student employability for existing organizations. Further review needs to be done to see the patterns and characteristics of the use of the sciencepreneurship approach in science learning. For this reason, 21 articles were selected again until the appropriate ones were found, namely 17 articles. The results of a further review show that sciencepreneurship is an approach based on natural science and entrepreneurship. Learning activities are carried out by introducing the basics of making simple products that have business opportunities. students are introduced to processes that involve local wisdom and are related to science learning. sciencepreneurship denotes an entrepreneurial science-based learning approach that refers to an individual’s ability to turn ideas into action. This includes creativity, innovation and the ability to plan and manage projects to achieve initial goals.
