Multi-frequency effect towards High Conductivity Overburden Responses using Vertical Coplanar (VCP) coil configuration for Landslide Instrumentation

A novel instrumentation for landslide application has been made and calibrated using Vertical Coplanar (VCP) coil orientation. The early instrumentation and commonly used right now for landslide slopes was gradually equipped with standard and automatic instrumentation: three the piezometric cells, two deep-seated steel wire extensometers, four inclinometric tubes, a rainfall gauge, a snow gauge and an air thermometer. This novel instrumentation works in electromagnetic methods similar with electromagnetic methods in geophysics; otherwise, the system was mechanics and electronics. VCP coil orientation is a coplanar array where both coils are vertical. In VCP, the depth of sounding is about 1.5 times of the coils separation. The overburden thicknesses in the field exploration are often covering the tropical area and presented as weathering layer. The more of overburden thickness then the more of energy of electromagnetic wave will be absorbed, as the result that the electromagnetic wave becomes smaller. The electromagnetic wave that reaches the target of the subsurface is also become smaller in amplitude. The multi-frequency application would be helpful in the data interpretation of the anomaly position and the conductive overburden caused by the domination trends between out-of-phase (OP) and in-phase (IP) components could be determined. In the higher frequencies (3037.5 Hz and 1012.5 Hz), the curve of IP is raised up, with the result that the positive peak values become higher and the negative peak values become lower in levels. The multi-frequency application gives the results that in the higher frequency examinations, the anomaly response is influenced significantly by the conductive overburden. In the lower frequency measurements, the anomaly response is not influenced significantly by overburden response. Peripheral fishes in the Estuary of Simeulue Island, Indonesia

The objective of the present study was to inventory of peripheral water fishes were conducted in several estuaries of Simeulue Island, Aceh Province, Indonesia. The sampling was done at seven river mouths in August 2017 and May 2018. The fish samples were collected using fishhooks, casting net and gill net. The sampled fishes were taxonomic identified based on several references at the Laboratory of Ichthyology, Faculty of Marine and Fisheries, Syiah Kuala University. The results showed that there were 356 individual of fishes were recorded during the survey, its belong to 10 orders, 25 families, 41 genera and 52 species. The Perciformes was a predominant with a total of 15 families, 27 genera and 35 species. Furthermore, Gobiidae was predominant with the highest number of genera and species (7 genera and 10 species), followed by Eleotridae (4 genera and 4 species), Mugilidae (3 genera and 4 species), and Carangidae (3 genera and 4 species).

The instrumentation for the sensing of natural disaster phenomena as like as landslide instrumentation has acquired great importance for the instrumentation community. The novel instrumentation for landslide application has been made and calibrated using Horizontal Coplanar (HCP) coil orientation. The early instrumentation for landslide slopes was gradually equipped with standard and automatic instrumentation consisting of three the piezometric cells, two deep-seated steel wire extensometers, four in clinometric tubes, a rainfall gauge, a snow gauge and an air thermometer. This novel instrumentation works in electromagnetic methods similar with electromagnetic methods in geophysics. HCP coil orientation is a coplanar array where both coils are horizontal. In HCP, the depth of sounding is about 1.5 times of the coils separation which have maximum coupled configuration (HCP, VCP, and Vertical Coaxial configuration). The overburden response had inverted the percent value of maximum negative response then there were three maximum response amplitude peaks. Measurement and data processing were performed using a computer through Delphi program. The diagonal cross sections of the overburden as the centre were the maximum value of inverted response of anomaly positions. In aluminium thin plate overburden, the diagonal cross section point as the overburden centre was the maximum value of inverting value of the highest minimum response amplitude. The measurement graphic in the computer screen with several types of overburdens would be displayed. As the result, that the overburden widths for overburden were determined by subtracted of two turning points positions. The overburden positions were accurate for Type P overburden. The master curve had a high anomaly contrasts with two of positive anomaly peaks. Otherwise, the anomaly positions were between two of the negative anomaly peaks.

The groupers, locally known as 'kerapu' in Indonesia, are commercially valuable fish in Indonesia, including Aceh. The groupers are the first fish family to be plundered in most countries' fisheries industries. However, the biodiversity information of the groupers fished in Aceh is limited. This study was aimed to inventories the grouper species landed in Aceh fish landing sites. The data collection was performed in some fish landing locations (TPI) located in Aceh. In general, this study revealed that Aceh has high grouper diversity. In total, 35 species of the Epinephelidae family were recorded. Epinephelus was the dominant genus found, followed by Cephalopholis, Plectropomus, Variola, Aethaloperca, Anyperodon, and Hyporthodus. Simeulue, Weh island, and Banda Aceh were the locations with the highest diversity of grouper in Aceh. Overall, the data collected from this study would be beneficial for the future management plan of grouper in Aceh and Indonesia.

The discontinuity in a fractured land in landslide application could be represented by the metal defects in the physical modeling that will usually reduce the mass of the metal. The scale factor n is important for interpreting the field data using the physical model data. In this physical modeling (n = 100), the anomaly targets are aluminum plates and aluminum plates with the discontinuities. It is assumed the nonconductive environment. In the free-air condition which has zero conductivity is become representative of this environment. In the zero conductivity, the secondary field from the medium is not presence. In this condition, there are no phase differences between transmitted electromagnetic fields and that was received by the receiver. The discontinuity in this term is any treatment or defect that causes disruption or leads to a reduction in response triggered by the eddy currents. The discontinuities used on the thin plates and flaws will interrupt or reduce the eddy current flow on the plate, thereby reducing the induced voltage on the receiving coil and increasing its effective impedance. This is the basis of eddy current measurement. The electromagnetic field response to a metal that has discontinuities will change the eddy current portion. The eddy current that changes, therefore, will change the second field so that the percent response (% Response) of the receiver in the Geometry Normalized Electromagnetic System (GNES) instrument will also change.
