Analysis and verification of quantum circuits are highly challenging, given the exponential dependence of the number of states on the number of qubits. For analytical derivation, we propose a new quantum polynomial representation (QPR) to facilitate the analysis of massively parallel quantum computation and detect subtle errors. For the verification of quantum circuits, we introduce Quantum-Chiplet, a hierarchical quantum behavior modeling methodology that facilitates rapid integration and simulation. Each chiplet is systematically transformed into quantum gates. For circuits involving n qubits and k quantum gates, the design complexity is reduced from "greater than O(2n)" to O(k). This approach provides an open-source solution, enabling a highly customized solution for quantum circuit simulation within the native Python environment, thereby reducing reliance on traditional simulation packages. A quantum amplitude estimation example demonstrates that this method significantly improves the design process, with more than 10x speed-up compared to IBM Qiskit at 14 qubits. White pepper generally used as spice, has the main component of piperine which gives it a spicy taste and essential oils that determine its aroma. In general trade, only good pepper is traded, while off-grade that does not meet quality requirements will be wasted. This study aims to investigate the effect of extraction methods of essential oils from off-grade white pepper and the potential of its antimicrobial activity against pathogenic bacteria. The results showed that off-grade white pepper essential oils (WPEO) could be isolated by using microwave-assisted hydro-distillation (MAHD) and hydro-distillation (HD). Essential oils produced had physicochemical characteristics in accordance with the ISO 3061:2008 standard. Specifically, MAHD off-grade, MAHD grade-A, and HD WPEO had 13, 11, and 15 components, respectively. The chemical composition showed that all the extracted EO contained the main components of caryophyllene, (+)-3-carene, D-limonene, and β-pinene. The methods showed the extraction ability of monoterpene hydrocarbons by MAHD and sesquiterpene hydrocarbons by HD. In comparison, microwave-extracted essential oils had a higher limonene, while off-grade WPEO contained (+)-3-carene. The FTIR results confirmed the content of the components in the three WPEO that were investigated. All essential oils had antibacterial activity against E. coli and S. typhimurium with zone inhibition values of MAHD off-grade WPEO, MAHD grade-A WPEO, and HD off-grade WPEO against E. coli at 15.44 ± 1.68 mm, 6.72 ± 0.59 mm, and 10.17 ± 0.29 mm, as well as against S. typhimurium at 8.72 ± 1.25 mm, 8.06 ± 0.86 mm, and 8.83 ± 0.87 mm, respectively. © 2025 The Authors

We perform an empirical study to analyze whether it would be beneficial for a company to switch from traditional procurement system to e-procurement system. For this purpose, we determine the main barriers and benefits of e-procurement systems, and using Structural Equation Modeling, we analyze the effects of the barriers and benefits on the e-procurement adoption decision. The results denote that barriers (benefits) of e-procurement systems have negative (positive) effect on the adoption decision. We also find that the effect of the benefits is higher than that of the barriers, indicating that it would be beneficial for the company to adopt the e-procurement system. © Springer International Publishing Switzerland 2015.

The implementation of passive design strategies is essential for improving building performance. However, selecting the best passive design solution can be challenging due to the multiple criteria involved. In this study, we compare four different Multi-Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM) methods: WSM, TOPSIS, VIKOR, and COPRAS, for selecting the best passive design solution. The criteria considered include energy use intensity (EUI), percentage of comfort hours (PCH), spatial daylight autonomy (sDA300/50%), and annual sunlight exposure (ASE1000,250). The results show that all MCDM methods provide the same best solution among the design alternatives generated by the optimizer if all criteria are equally important. We also found that WSM and VIKOR suggest similar top 10 alternative solutions, although there are differences in their respective ranking orders. However, if all design alternatives are considered, all evaluated methods suggest a unique ranking of solutions. The findings of this study can help designers and engineers select the most suitable MCDM method for their specific needs and achieve high-performance buildings. © 2023 *** rights reserved.

Micro-Cantilever Array With Electroplating Tin Bumps for Flip-Chip Bonding Technology

A Nickel (Ni) microcantilever beam array with tin (Sn) solder bumps has been designed for flip-chip bonding with high-density electrodes. Micro-electro-mechanical system (MEMS) technology and the micro-electroplating process were used in the fabrication process. Utilizing the out-of-plane deformation of the suspended microcantilever beam, the satisfied heights partially compensate the substrate curvature to ensure a high flip-chip bonding yield, thus, improving package quality in terms of electrical connections. To demonstrate this technique, this study developed a flip-chip carrier for a typical micro-LED array with a beam length of 70~ μm and a bump height of 2~ μm. The measurement results revealed that the displacement of the microcantilever beam was approximately 0.8~ μm when a 500~ μN force was applied on top of the tin bump. When a glass substrate directly mounts to the flip-chip carrier through the tin bump at a heat reflow of 270 °C, most of the tin bumps successfully melt and solidify, which results in good bonding performance. These results revealed that the proposed approach could be applied to the wafer-level packaging process with high-density ball grid array electrodes. © 2011-2012 IEEE.

This study explores the potential benefits of daylighting in school classrooms with bilateral opening typology in the tropical climate region, by integrating with a complex fenestration system, namely horizontal and vertical blinds. Sensitivity analysis was conducted to determine the most influential design parameters, and design optimization was performed using the RBFOpt algorithm. Results show that the window-to-wall ratio (WWR) and blind-to-window ratio (BWR) are the most important factors affecting daylight metrics. The optimal WWR range is between 15% and 30%, and the BWR is 100% in both locations. © 2023 *** rights reserved.

The voice patterns of gender and age have been used as speaker's identity and implied into sectors such as smart cards, healthcare, banking, and other security access controls. However, age, illness, and ambient noise factors exist challenging issues of voice changes in speech recognition systems to be resolved. This paper presents experiment results of observing those issues, and its goal was obtaining the elements of voice features to secure the speaker's identity. Mel-frequency Cepstral Coefficient (MFCC) was used to conduct observations on spectral centroid and bandwidth, it has effectively performed capturing features of individual speech signal. The experiment was conducted with data split into three groups: under 13, range 13 to 19, and above 19 years old for both male and female. The results showed that both gender under 13 have centroid voices reached to 98%, age of 13 to 19 remain with centroid reached 98% of bandwidth for male and passing over 100% for female, then above 19 for both genders speak lower with centroid 50% of bandwidth, and male above age of 19 remains to keep centroid about 50% and female changes to 95%. MFCC fits to expose the speech spectrum for the purpose of an analysis frame on specific local spectral properties of voices, and the finding is to form a security line or an individual profiling adoption. © 2022 IEEE.

In the tropical regions, the use of atrium and skylight opening provides the opportunity to admit daylight into the buildings consistently, due to the relatively long and constant sunshine duration throughout the year. However, there are risks of excessive daylight and direct sunlight from the skylight opening. This study aims to determine the optimum daylighting design strategies for applying atrium, skylight, and façade design in a tropical, five-floor office building. Daylight performance is simulated with Honeybee [+]. To test the conformity with the LEED standard, a k-Nearest Neighbour (k-NN) classifier algorithm is applied to classify the data, while Pareto frontiers optimization is applied to determine the optimal solutions. The WWR is correlated with ASE1000,250, while VT is correlated with sDA300/50%. The k-NN algorithm is found having 93.3% accuracy. © 2023 *** rights reserved.

Air pollution (O3, SO2, CO, NOx, PM, and Pb) can have a severe impact on environmental damage and human health problems. Therefore, monitoring of pollutant levels in the air is essential to find out how much that gas levels can cause air pollution. In general, air quality monitoring is carried out using a conventional system. Inside the system requires large-sized equipment, long time for analysis, expensive, and with limited space resolution. It becomes inefficient, amid the development of technology that can carry out online monitoring, real-time, low cost, small size and a wide range of distance. The technology is known as the wireless sensor network system. The aim of this research is to design an air quality monitoring system using a Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) that can be accessed via the web and smartphone. The developing of WSN systems consist of two steps, are design and implementation device. The first step is done by assembling sensor nodes and hosting a web server. And after the device was finished, the next step is testing and calibrating of the system. The results of experiment show that the system is able to detect various air pollution, such as SO2, NOX, CO, and other environmental factors such as temperature, humidity and wind speed. © 2019 Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

This paper shows the design and development of a module named: Supervision and Control of Charge “SCC“, which conforms a home energy management system prototype. This module has internal aspects such as the physical structure of the device, which has to do with monitoring, supervising and controlling loads. Likewise, the software of the proposal is shown, it is related to the capture of energy measurement basic parameters. It involves information and communication technologies in order to take energy measures in the appliances, with the objective of transmitting information to a central system through power line communication so it can be processed in three different ways: manual, semiautomatic and automatic, which work with decision algorithms. After developing operation tests, the average response time was 1s in manual mode and 2s in automatic and semiautomatic mode. Besides, with the semiautomatic mode operation during early morning hours, savings of approximately 240,12 kWh/year are achieved per user. The prototype was designed taking into account the use of standard communication protocols in the context of Internet of things.
