This paper presents the results of a multidisciplinary collaboration in Digital Humanities that focuses on the multi-scale analysis of the network of Baroque paintings in the territories of the Hispanic Monarchy from the 16th through the 18th centuries. We apply graph analysis and visualizations as well as natural language analysis over a database of over 11,000 artworks in order to address three types of questions related, respectively, to the formation and sustainability of large cultures, the semantic content of the network we analyze, and the role of art as an institution that contributes to sustain large-scale socities. The results also help to design a methodology that can be exported to other projects in Digital Humanities.

Polymeric Thin Film Transistors (PTFTs) have undergone extraordinary improvements during the last decade. PTFTs which are also termed as Organic Thin Film Transistor (OTFT) are promising devices for future development of variety of low-cost and large-area electronics applications such as active-matrix displays and flexible micro-electronics. Organic transistors show high mobility, high-speed and high-current characteristics and are suitable for driver elements of flexible displays. This paper reviews recent progress in materials, fabrication processes, advances in device designs and applications related to PTFTs/ OTFTs. The performance of PTFTs/OTFTs is evaluated in terms of on/off current ratio, threshold voltage, subthreshold slope, power dissipation, switching time, driving capability and effective mobility. Various analytical models such as charge transport phenomena in organic solids and resulting models of PTFTs/OTFTs are reviewed. The paper thoroughly discusses the applications of OTFTs in various fields. Prospects, challenges and limitations are also discussed. Recently, polymer thin film transistors area has emerged as a field of intense research activities with emphasis on fundamental concepts and practical applications.

Fuzzy Description Logics (DLs) are a formalism for the representation of structured knowledge affected by imprecision or vagueness. In the setting of fuzzy DLs, restricting to a finite set of degrees of truth has proved to be useful. In this paper, we propose finite fuzzy DLs as a generalization of existing approaches. We assume a finite totally ordered set of linguistic terms or labels, which is very useful in practice since expert knowledge is usually expressed using linguistic terms. Then, we consider any smooth t-norm defined over this set of degrees of truth. In particular, we focus on the finite fuzzy DL ALCH, studying some logical properties, and showing the decidability of the logic by presenting a reasoning preserving reduction to the non-fuzzy case.
