Improving interconnection subsystems is crucial for the overall performance of a multicomputer system. Hence, a theoretical presentation of a new deadlockfree message flow model for k-ary n-cube networks is developed in this paper. The key idea of this flow control mechanism is to preserve enough free resources for each possible routing dependency cycle, so that packet progress will be guaranteed. Based on this algorithm, we have proposed a simple router structure for a 2-ary n-cube topology with dimensional order routing. Edge or shared buffering can be used, requiring a minimum capacity of one packet per channel. Virtual channels are eliminated, reducing router complexity and, consequently, decreasing network latency at lour loads. In fact, the performance evaluation for the 2-ary n-cube with different loads shows an improvement in the latency parameter of about 20% with respect to a deterministic routing with two virtual channels.

In this paper a different approach to build an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) system is presented. The proposed scheme includes features such as high power factor, low total harmonic distortion and good dynamic response at the output voltage. This scheme has the desirable features of high efficiency, simple circuit and low cost compared to a traditional standalone multiple stages UPS with power factor correction. The circuit operation, analysis and experimental results of the proposed UPS scheme are presented. The UPS approach is a good solution for low power applications (&le 500 W).

Parameter-dependent quadratic forms (PDQF) play an important role in analysis and synthesis of linear parameter varying (LPV) systems. This paper proposes a method to find a PDQF that meets some criterion written in terms of LMI guaranteeing performances of LPV systems. Through approximation of PDQF with spline functions, we derive finite number of LMI from a given LMI-criterion on a PDQF, which is inherently a condition with infinitely many inequalities. This approximating solution to LMI on a PDQF is proved to have the following properties: (1) any solution to the derived LMI of finite number always produces a PDQF satisfying the original LMI-criterion, and (2) the finite LMI-condition always holds with sufficiently fine division of the parameter's region if the original one is solvable. Thus the results of this paper enable to solve parameter-dependent LMI associated with PDQF without conservatism.

This paper deals with the 3D structure estimation and exploration of a scene using active vision. We have used the structure from controlled motion approach to obtain a precise and robust estimation of the 3D structure of geometrical primitives. Since it involves gazing successively on the considered primitives, we have developed perceptual strategies able to perform a succession of robust estimations without any assumption on the number and on the localization of the different objects. An exploration process centered on current visual features and on the structure of the previously studied primitives is presented. This leads to a gaze planning strategy that mainly uses a representation of known and unknown areas as a basis for selecting viewpoints. The proposed strategy ensures the completeness of the reconstruction.

In a multi mobile robot system is essential to avoid collisions and to coordinate the trajectories of multiple mobile robots in order to insure the safety and the correct operation of the whole process. It is reasonable to think that a qualitative approach is an adequate way in this context, because it is more important to model the space in a more or less risky collision zones that to know with precision the exact distance among robots. The qualitative solutions for space modelization and permitted trajectories problems which are presented in this work, give us some advantages in reference to the computational time.
