This paper presents a hybrid method for determination of continuous dielectric properties of clothing materials. The dielectric constant and loss tangent of three types of materials are firstly investigated using open-ended coaxial probe from 0.5 to 20 GHz. The average measured values are input into the CST simulation of two CPW lines to obtain the two-port S-parameters. Finally, more reasonable yet reliable results are obtained by using two retrieval algorithms (TRACE and ABCD) for validation and comparative purposes.

Reconfigurable intelligent Surfaces (RIS) are recognized for their ability to actively control signal propagation, presenting a wide array of applications in 5G and the forthcoming 6G networks. In this paper, we design a RIS-assisted multi-input single-output (MISO) model and propose a corresponding direction of arrival (DOA) estimation algorithm. The proposed DOA estimation algorithm leverages the non-convex Ekblom norm to serve as the error criterion, ensuring robustness against impulsive noises, while the smoothed L1 norm is implemented as the regularization constraint to further enhance the performance of the algorithm. Distinct from prior research, the system under consideration operates with a single receive antenna, facilitating DOA estimation through the adjustment of RIS reflection coefficients, thereby markedly reducing system hardware costs. Moreover, we devise an alternating minimization strategy to obtain the optimal solution to the problem. A series of simulation results indicate that the proposed algorithm surpasses existing methods in terms of accuracy and robustness.

A novel wideband miniaturized composite monopole antenna is proposed, analysed and investigated in detail, where the antenna consists of a conical monopole structure with a loaded capacitive disc. The antenna is composed of multiple nested section, aiming to reduce the profile of the antenna. The loading disc at its top is equivalent to a capacitive structure to improve the antenna matching and the stability of the pattern. According to the simulation results, the impedance bandwidth $(\mathbf{S}_{\mathbf{11}} < -\mathbf{10})$ is 132.9% $(\mathbf{60.45}\sim \mathbf{300}\ \mathbf{MHz})$ , or even wider. The gain at the entire frequency averages 3 dBi. The performance of the antenna is very suitable for remote wireless communication.

With the capability to sculpt complex radiative wavefronts and couple energy from the reference wave to the desired radiation pattern, metasurface antennas have gained tremendous progress in recent years. The flexibility in antenna design gives rise to a bunch of metasurface antennas, while there is still a comprise between the needed operation band and radiation field pattern coherence. Furthermore, the relatively low sampling ratio and overlap between frequency measurement modes would inevitably pose a great challenge for matched filter and other advanced sparsity-driven post-processing imaging algorithms. In this paper, we design a deep neural network to achieve fast scene image reconstruction. The trained network could fastly reconstruct the imaged object in both low scene compressed ratio and high coherence of the measurement modes. The imaging experiments with measured radiation field data are conducted to verify the effectiveness of our method.

A simple broadband slotted circularly-polarized (CP) antenna (SBS-CP) is presented, which mainly consists of a ground structure with a modified slot and an asymmetric feeding structure. The two structures can give different CP characteristics in low and high frequencies. By etching rectangular slots in the ground structure, the coupling effect between feeding and ground structure will be improved and the bandwidth will be broadened. By modeling and optimizing the antenna, the proposed antenna impedance bandwidth (IBW) and axial ratio bandwidth (ARBW) are 113% (2.08~7.46 GHz) and 97% (2.5~7.24 GHz), respectively.
