The Galois ring GR(4∆) is the residue ring Z4[x]/(h(x)), where h(x) is a basic primitive polynomial of degree ∆ over Z4. For any odd ∆ larger than 1, we construct a partition of GR(4∆)\{0} into 6-subsets of type {a, b, −a−b, −a, −b, a+b} and 3-subsets of type {c, −c, 2c} such that the partition is invariant under the multiplication by a nonzero element of the Teichmuller set in GR(4∆) and, if ∆ is not a multiple of 3, under the action of the automorphism group of GR(4∆). As a corollary, this implies the existence of quasi-cyclic additive 1-perfect codes of index (2∆ − 1) in D((2∆ − 1)(2∆ − 2)/6, 2∆ − 1) where D(m, n) is the Doob metric scheme on Z2m+n .MSC Codes 94B99 Copyright © 2023, The Authors. On the structure of 1-generator quasi-polycyclic codes over finite chain rings

Quasi-polycyclic (QP for short) codes over a finite chain ring R are a generalization of quasi-cyclic codes, and these codes can be viewed as an R[x]-submodule of Rm, where Rm := R[x]/hfi, and f is a monic polynomial of degree m over R. If f factors uniquely into monic and coprime basic irreducibles, then their algebraic structure allow us to characterize the generator polynomials and the minimal generating sets of 1-generator QP codes as R-modules. In addition, we also determine the parity check polynomials for these codes by using the strong Gröbner bases. In particular, via Magma system, some quaternary codes with new parameters are derived from these 1-generator QP codes. © 2021, CC0.

License plate recognition plays a critical role in many practical applications, but license plates of large vehicles are difficult to be recognized due to the factors of low resolution, contamination, low illumination, and occlusion, to name a few. To overcome the above factors, the transportation management department generally introduces the enlarged license plate behind the rear of a vehicle. However, enlarged license plates have high diversity as they are non-standard in position, size, and style. Furthermore, the background regions contain a variety of noisy information which greatly disturbs the recognition of license plate characters. Existing works have not studied this challenging problem. In this work, we first address the enlarged license plate recognition problem and contribute a dataset containing 9342 images, which cover most of the challenges of real scenes. However, the created data are still insufficient to train deep methods of enlarged license plate recognition, and building large-scale training data is very time-consuming and high labor cost. To handle this problem, we propose a novel task-level disentanglement generation framework based on the Disentangled Generation Network (DGNet), which disentangles the generation into the text generation and background generation in an end-to-end manner to effectively ensure diversity and integrity, for robust enlarged license plate recognition. Extensive experiments on the created dataset are conducted, and we demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach in three representative text recognition frameworks. © 2022, CC BY.

Most of the methods for predicting the 3D human pose from single picture are to first extract the 2d joint position in the image, and then use the 2d joint coordinates to get the 3d joint position. This type of method focuses on learning the mapping from 2d to 3d, and neglects the kinematic properties of the joints. Combined with the independent characteristics of human limb joint motion, we adopt the structure of grouping regression. The limbs and trunk were divided into different joint groups, and the 3d position of the joints in each group was predicted separately. In order to make the prediction results are closer to the real human posture, we use BiLSTM to design a human joint self-constrained network to adjust prediction results and improve accuracy. Experiments show that the method of grouping regression combined with self-constrained network is superior to the current advanced method. © 2019, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

In this paper, we propose a new user grouping and power allocation scheme based on beamforming for downlink non-orthogonal multiple access systems. The proposed user grouping scheme can effectively reduce the interference from the other user and other beams as well, and can effectively improve the weak user rate especially when the SNR is not large. In addition, a power allocation scheme that can maximize the sum capacity while satisfying a certain fairness index is proposed. From the simulation results, the user grouping and power allocation method proposed in this paper can not only improve the overall system throughput performance, but also improve the fairness of weak users. © 2019 Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Most existing algorithms based on Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) for face alignment ignore the significance of attention mechanism. In this paper, we propose a Multi-Attention Network (MANet) for robust face alignment. Our attention mechanism includes multi-level feature attention and multi-scale attention. Multi-level feature attention is introduced for the purpose of paying attention to features of different levels, specifically, high-level feature attentions are essential for correlations among neighboring regions whereas low-level feature attentions focus on detailed description for local parts. While multi-scale attention is designed to obtain better representation the features of different scales. The attentions mentioned above are utilized for better feature presentation and information flow, thus our network is guided to emphasize the key information and suppress the less significant information. The experimental results on 300 W and WFLW datasets demonstrate the superiority of the proposed method over the state-of-the-art approaches. © 2019, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

The application of radar absorbing materials on the surface of metal aircraft can effectively reduce the radar cross section (RCS). In this paper, the physical optics (PO) method is used to calculate the RCS of electrically large coated targets. First, we calculate the RCS of the original X29 aircraft and the X29 aircraft coated with a broadband two-layer radar absorbing coating. In addition, the backscattered electric field data of coated and uncoated X29 aircraft are obtained by using the PO method, respectively. Finally, the two-dimensional Inverse Fourier Transform (IFT) of the collected data is taken to form the Inverse Synthetic Aperture Radar (ISAR) image. © 2019 IEEE.

Knowledge tracing has been widely used in online learning systems to guide the students' future learning. However, most existing KT models primarily focus on extracting abundant information from the question sets and explore the relationships between them, but ignore the personalized student behavioral information in the learning process. This will limit the model's ability to accurately capture the personalized knowledge states of students and reasonably predict their performances. To alleviate this limitation, we explicitly models the personalized learning process by incorporating the emotions, a representative personalized behavior in the learning process, into KT framework. Specifically, we present a novel Dual-State Personalized Knowledge Tracing with Emotional Incorporation model to achieve this goal: Firstly, we incorporate emotional information into the modeling process of knowledge state, resulting in the Knowledge State Boosting Module. Secondly, we design an Emotional State Tracing Module to monitor students' personalized emotional states, and propose an emotion prediction method based on personalized emotional states. Finally, we apply the predicted emotions to enhance students' response prediction. Furthermore, to extend the generalization capability of our model across different datasets, we design a transferred version of DEKT, named Transfer Learningbased Self-loop model (T-DEKT). The engagement prediction task aims to identify the current level of involvement of individuals based on the information presented in video clips. In recent years, engagement prediction has attracted considerable attention due to its significance in real-life scenarios. We observed that an individual’s engagement status is often primarily manifested in the facial region. This observation prompted us to solve the engagement prediction problem by exploiting facial information to learn features related to engagement. In this paper, we propose a novel model for learning fine-grained features, called Fine-Grained Spatial-Temporal Framework (FGST). Specifically, we consider both spatial and temporal aspects. In the spatial domain, we propose an entropy-weighted method based on Fourier transform. By applying Fourier transform to video frames and introducing the concept of information entropy, we can segregate engagement-related information from engagement-unrelated information and mining difficult samples. This aids in enabling the model to learn features conducive to engagement prediction. In the temporal domain, we calculate the differences between adjacent frames and sum these differences to obtain regions of pixel variation between video frames, thereby generates saliency weight and improving model performance. A hybrid subgrid scheme based on the conventional finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) schemes are proposed. The alternating-direction-implicit FDTD (ADI-FDTD) is used to calculate electromagnetic fields in fine grid regions subgrids and the FDTD method is applied to the coarse grid regions. Numerical results demonstrate that the drastically reduced computation time and memory can be achieved by using the proposed 3D hybrid algorithm.
