We study codes with parameters of q-ary shortened Hamming codes, i.e., (n = (qm − q)/(q − 1), qn−m, 3)q. Firstly, we prove the fact mentioned in 1998 by Brouwer et al. that such codes are optimal, generalizing it to a bound for multifold packings of radius-1 balls, with a corollary for multiple coverings. In particular, we show that the punctured Hamming code is an optimal q-fold packing with minimum distance 2. Secondly, for every admissible length starting from n = 20, we show the existence of 4-ary codes with parameters of shortened 1-perfect codes that cannot be obtained by shortening a 1-perfect *** Codes 94B05, 94B65 Copyright © 2021, The Authors. Holographic capture and projection system of real object based on tunable zoom lens

In this paper, we propose a holographic capture and projection system of real objectsbased on tunable zoom lenses. Different from the traditional holographic system, aliquid lens-based zoom camera and a digital conical lens are used as key parts to reachthe functions of holographic capture and projection, respectively. The zoom camera isproduced by combing liquid lenses and solid lenses, which has the advantages of fastresponse and light weight. By electrically controlling the curvature of the liquid-liquidsurface, the focal length of the zoom camera can be changed easily. As anothertunable zoom lens, the digital conical lens has a large focal depth and the opticalproperty is perfectly used in the holographic system for adaptive projection, especiallyfor multilayer imaging. By loading the phase of the conical lens on the spatial lightmodulator, the reconstructed image can be projected with large depths. With theproposed system, holographic zoom capture and color reproduction of real objects canbe achieved based on a simple structure. Experimental results verify the feasibility ofthe proposed system. The proposed system is expected to be applied to microprojectionand three-dimensional display technology.

Quantum emitters are a key component in photonic quantum technologies. Enhancing their single-photon emission by engineering the photonic environment using cavities can improve the overall efficiency in quantum information processing. However, this enhancement is often limited by the need for precise nanoscale control over emitter’s position within micro/nano-cavities. Inspired by the fascinated physics of moiré pattern, we present an approach to strongly modify the spontaneous emission rate of a quantum emitter using fine-designed multilayer moiré photonic crystal with a robust isolate-flatband dispersion. Theoretical analysis reveals that due to its nearly infinite photonic density of states, the moiré cavity can simultaneously possess high Purcell factor and large tolerance over emitter’s position. We experimentally demonstrate the coupling between this moiré cavity and a quantum dot via the cavity-determined polarization of the dot’s emission. The radiative lifetime of the quantum dot can be tuned by a factor of 40 from 42 ps to 1692 ps, attributed to strong Purcell enhancement and Purcell inhibition effects. Our findings pave the way for moiré flatband cavity-enhanced quantum light sources, quantum optical switches and quantum nodes for quantum internet. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. Converting whisper to normal vocalized speech has been a hot research topic in speech signal processing area. A complete and large scale whisper database is a major basis for this task. In this paper, we propose a multimodal whisper database in Chinese mandarin. A total of 103 syllables and 100 sentences were carefully selected. 5 male and 5 female participants pronounced the syllables and sentences in whisper and normal styles respectively, result in 4096 parallel speech utterances and 263, 849 frames of voicing face and lip image sequences. The beginning and ending sample point of each syllable were labeled both for speech signal and voicing face video. The lip region of interest were also extracted and provided in the proposed database. Experiments in various speech conversion tasks in different speech database show the effectiveness of the proposed multimodal whisper speech database. © 2019 IOP Publishing Ltd. All rights reserved.

In this paper,we propose a new user grouping and power allocation scheme based on beamforming for downlink non-orthogonal multiple access *** proposed user grouping scheme can effectively reduce the interference from the other user and other beams as well,and can effectively improve the weak user rate especially when the SNR is not *** addition,a power allocation scheme that can maximize the sum capacity while satisfying a certain fairness index is *** the simulation results,the user grouping and power allocation method proposed in this paper can not only improve the overall system throughput performance,but also improve the fairness of weak users.

Distributed compressed sensing theory is applied to many practical problems,ECG signal,color imaging,*** order to improve the reconstruction accuracy of multi-dimensional signals,this paper applies singular value decomposition to the multi-measure vector problem in DCS,then distributed compressed sensing reconstruction method based on singular value decomposition is *** method can achieve row orthogonality of the measurement matrix and does not affect the design of the reconstruction *** experiments verify the effectiveness of the proposed method,which can significantly improve the reconstruction quality of the signal and the robustness to noise.

Existing Lexical Punctuation Prediction methods are mainly trained on the standard clean data while losing the generalization in practical automatic speech recognition (ASR) system with ubiquitous transcription errors. To bridge the gap between clean training data and noisy testing data, we propose three random (3R) data augmentation strategies: random word deletion (RWD), random word substitution (RWS), and random phoneme edition (RPE) in both word and phoneme levels on the training dataset. Specifically, we contribute an acoustically similar vocabulary with phoneme level editions for acoustically similar word substitution. In addition, we first introduce the RoBERTa-large model into a punctuation prediction task to capture the semantics and the long-distance dependencies in language. Extensive experiments on the English dataset IWSLT2011 yield to a new state-of-the-art comparing to the prevalent punctuation prediction methods.

The multilevel characteristic basis function method(MLCBFM)with the adaptive cross approximation(ACA)algorithm for accelerated solution of electrically large scattering problems is studied in this *** the conventional MLCBFM based on Foldy-Lax multiple scattering equations,the improvement is only made in the generation of characteristic basis functions(CBFs).However,it does not provide a change in impedance matrix filling and reducing matrix calculation procedure,which is *** reality,all the impedance and reduced matrix of each level of the MLCBFM have low-rank property and can be calculated ***,ACA is used for the efficient generation of two-level CBFs and the fast calculation of reduced matrix in this *** results are given to demonstrate the accuracy and efficiency of the method.

Optimal Ternary Cubic Two-Weight Codes

We study trace codes with defining set L,a subgroup of the multiplicative group of an extension of degree m of a certain ring of order 27. These codes are abelian, and their ternary images are quasi-cyclic of coindex three(a.k.a. cubic codes). Their Lee weight distributions are computed by using Gauss sums. These codes have three nonzero weights when m is singly-even. When m is odd, under some hypothesises on the size of L, we obtain two new infinite families of two-weight codes which are optimal. Applications of the image codes to secret sharing schemes are also given.

Previous efforts on data-based reconstruction focused on complex networks with pairwise or two-body interactions. There is a growing interest in networks with high-order or many-body interactions, raising the need to reconstruct such networks based on observational data. We develop a general framework combining statistical inference and expectation maximization to fully reconstruct 2-simplicial complexes with two- and three-body interactions based on binary time-series data from social contagion dynamics. We further articulate a two-step scheme to improve the reconstruction accuracy while significantly reducing the computational load. Through synthetic and real-world 2-simplicial complexes, we validate the framework by showing that all the connections can be faithfully identified and the full topology of the 2-simplicial complexes can be inferred. The effects of noisy data or stochastic disturbance are studied, demonstrating the robustness of the proposed framework. © 2021, CC BY.
